Local Vibes Inspiring women in PC?

Hey neighbors. I've been working on a free weekly newsletter called Summit & Sage for women who love the mountains, trails, and want to stay informed on what's happening in our community.

One thing I want it to become is a place that introduces people to interesting local women, not just professional athletes or business owners, but women doing cool things here.

I'd love your recommendations. Who's someone in Park City (or around the Wasatch Back) you think more people should know about?
They could be an artist, trail runner, nonprofit leader, guide, coach, entrepreneur, volunteer, scientist... anyone with an interesting story.

If you're curious, here's the newsletter. https://summitandsage.beehiiv.com/
Would love your ideas

Random thoughts & things Looking/Searching for Two Tone “Park City” Coffee Mug

Post image
0 Upvotes

We were in park city a couple years ago and my wife picked up a two tone (black and tan) 16 oz coffee mug that had “Park City” and a moose on it. I can’t find anything online but the basic mug look similar to the attached photo.

Unfortunately our son broke it and of course it was my wife’s favorite mug. If anyone knows where to buy it or can point me in the right direction, I would greatly appreciate it. Pretty sure we got it somewhere in the main downtown area.

Her birthday is in September and we are hoping we can find the mug to give to her and he can stop feeling so bad.

Thanks in advance…..

Local Vibes Park City Film Audience Survey

Hi,
I'm interning with Park City Film this summer, and I'm researching what brings Gen Z audiences to movie theaters. If you are a member of Gen Z and live in Utah, I would really appreciate it if you took a few minutes to complete this survey:

https://forms.gle/yQhjLnnniSRyoQSE9

Additionally, please tell me in the comments which film genres interest you, as well as what film organizations could offer to make you want to become a member.

Thank you for your help!

Relocating 🚚 Park City from Breckenridge. Better or just as crazy?

Considering a move to Park City with wife and 5 year old daughter. We ski (downhill, nordic, backcountry), bike, climb, sail... all the things. We've lived in Breckenridge, CO in the past and then spent several years in Roanoke, VA and have been traveling in an RV for a year. We want to move back to a small mountain town out west. We've been back to Breck yearly and spent 2 months out there this past winter. Despite the lack of snow, the crowds in town and on the mountain were terrible and seem to have gotten worse each year. Parking is much worse with very limited free options.

So, is Park City just as bad? Are we just trading one crowded resort town for another? Will skiing with my daughter on the weekends be full of traffic, lift lines, and dodging tourists on the intermediate runs?

How do locals manage this?

Our goal is to be at a lower elevation and less crowded area than Breck but still ski daily (nordic, backcountry, or at the resort), have excellent airport access, and ski with our daughter on the weekends.

Local Vibes Lost Camera - Historic District

Hi all - first time reddit user, but hoping there is someone out there that can help me. I left my camera outside the Marriott Summit Watch at 615AM this morning. Outside of the Ontario building near the pool. I am crushed - for a few reasons - and hoping someone picked it up.

It was so early that nothing was open to turn it in, so the person would have had no option but to take it with them.

If you happened to grab it, I will happily pay a reward to get it back.

It is a Nikon ZF with a black and white checkered strap on it. There are thousands of photos on the chip, but the most recent photos were of a few local areas and then also the Salt Flats.

I've reported it to the Police dept (non emergency), the hotel, Atticus. If you have any other suggestions, please let me know.

If you found it, I can come to you.

Thank you in advance.

Local Services / Shopping 🛍️🛒 Thrifting

There are really a lot of people trying to destroy good vibes. If you are a person who likes to thrift, find good stuff for DIY, or anything that you can flip to make money, good for you. But criticizing a non-profit just because they are selling a what you called "junk" is not fair!!!!

Relocating 🚚 Coalville Living

Currently live in the Wasatch Front, but looking to potentially move to a smaller town in the Wasatch Back, specifically Coalville. Anyone live there? Pros & cons? Any concerns or perks? My grandparents grew up there but I’m sure it has changed since then.

Local Vibes MTB Rider injured at PCMR last night (Seldom Seen trail)

A Park City NICA rider was injured last night on Seldom Seen trail. My ride group rode past on our way back to the parking lot at the end of practice. It looked pretty bad. They had EMS there and where doing what looked like spinal immobilization. I don't know if anyone here will know the kid of their family. I just wanted to say that we are all hoping for the best and speedy recovery.

Why is The Park Record writing a feature article about a restaurant at a private club that most of the community cannot actually eat at? Is this an open invite?
