This is Kernel! He’s 16. He’s my old boy and my soul dog. He’s had full bloodwork and an ultrasound on his belly. He’s in good health but he’s soooooo skinny. He used to sit around 12-13 lbs. in the past few years he has shot down to just under 7 lbs. As far as the vet can tell, there’s no medical reason for the weight loss. He loves food and eats whatever I put in front of him. I’ve found wet food that doesn’t upset his tummy and feed him as much as he will let me!

Is this just him being an old man? The vet seems to think that with his age, it’s not worth further testing and that we should just treat him to good food and keep him happy. Just wondering if anyone has any tips? Or has experienced this before?

I work full time from home and Willow has taken to shoving herself pitifully into the corner of my office nearest my chair when I won't stop working so we can snuggle on the sofa.

Ma'am. You are expensive. I need to work to keep you supplied with treats.

That said, I AM ordering a rug for my office so she can be more comfy while hanging out in here. 😀 Maybe that'll cut down on the pouting a bit.

20 minute wait for the boat. Louie has to sit on my lap, if we aren’t moving he starts to whine.

We’re on our way home after a day trip to salt Spring Island, hot but we managed. We had a great lunch at the Tree House Cafe, I had prawns in lemon sauce. Loved it! Louie had some of Laura’s chicken.

His look of bewilderment was quite comical. I go home for my lunch break and occasionally they don't see me pull in the driveway. Lol finally decided to record. The brak was Rodger, he sticks his nose next to Buddy on the left.

Freshly bathed, finally relaxing from a long hard two weeks on the road and getting ready to hit the road again in two days.

Hi everyone! (Waves paw 🐾) I’m 9 weeks old. I’m settling in to my new home pretty well. I’ve only been here a few days but I think I’m going to like it here. My human has already signed me up for puppy classes. They start after I get my 2nd round of vaccines. I’ve been told I’m very smart and of course adorable 🥰

I can’t believe my puppy has already grown up! Athena still feels like my new pet, but also like she’s alway been here.
She is very playful and friendly. Gardening is still her favorite pastime.
Since she reached the 8 month mark she has become a picky eater and is not motivated by food at all (even the “forbidden” human stuff).

Rodger was being a goober this morning laying on my lap. So I pulled out my camera and he decided he wanted to get up after then. I didn't think he would have such a hard time rolling over. It's like he couldn't decide which way to roll over. What a goof ball.

The first one was from this past Saturday 7/17. He learned to press the 'food' button by the next day 😱 So he was standing at the 'treat' button, and I trained him that the 'food' button is on the other side of it by hand-feeding him. Watch until the end 👍 Turn volume on 🙏

Hello! I thought I would start here and share what we’re experiencing right now. So many of you were so helpful and responsive when I posted about my sweet finicky eater.

We adopted a 7 year old spayed Papillon/ Maltese mix female a little over a month ago. I live in a house that has a large fenced backyard.

When we brought our Betty home a month ago, we had some rainy weather. She didn’t like going out in the yard. I thought she didn’t like getting her paws wet. It really doesn’t matter if the grass is wet or dry, she fights being on grass. She enjoys being on the deck but won’t go anywhere near the yard.

8 out of 10 times, someone goes outside with her. I’ve leashed her and tried the front yard. It doesn’t matter she doesn’t like grass.

We have puppy pads around the house and she urinates on them but will poop on the floor next to the pad.

I’ve reached out to the rescue and they don’t have any advice. We love her and we are her forever family. I want to manage the situation.

We were told that she came from an animal control in another state. The rescue was told she was surrendered because her owner died. I’m wondering if she may have lived with an elderly person who never took her outside.

The two solutions that I’m considering are finding a dog trainer who will work with us and/ or possibly attempt to litter box train her. She’s only 9 pounds so she’s smaller than some cats.

I would love to hear potty training stories that anyone would like to share. I’m also open to feedback and suggestions.

A little while ago I went to the vet (with all three pups at once) for their wellness checkup and vaccinations. I have had a wonderful experience with my vet and these findings are why. I am not one to brag, but I am so happy with their findings and wanted to share what was said about all three. With a bonus picture of Buddy resting in my arms this morning.
