PSA: Double Red Flags Today! 🚩 Water Closed + Indoor Activity Ideas 🌧️
Hey everyone! Just a quick PSA for anyone visiting right now: the beaches are currently flying Double Red Flags, which means the water is completely closed to the public due to life-threatening surf and rip currents. Please stay out of the water and keep your families safe!
Since the weather is keeping us off the sand, I thought it would be a good time to share some indoor activities for those looking to wait out the rain:
- WonderWorks & Ripley's Believe It or Not!: Awesome options if you have kids needing to burn off some energy.
- Local Arcades (like Dave & Buster's): Perfect for killing a few hours.
- Grab a Coffee: A great day to find a cozy local spot for an iced latte and a pastry.
- Support Local Restaurants: If you have a favorite non-chain spot with great indoor seating, drop it in the comments below to help out our local businesses and tourists today!
Stay safe and stay dry! 🌧️

Food recommendations
Any good recommendations for places from locals maybe? Other than Pineapple Willy’s maybe? I have one kid with me. Preferably somewhere inside since the weather is not great.

Super small town tourists first ever beach trip
My family will be traveling to PCB the end of April. We will be staying in the area where the public beach access points are numbered in the 90s. We are are from a tiny little farm town, and have never been to a beach before! So although I am super excited, I’m also really scared. I’m not sure if the driving will be really difficult to navigate and busy traffic. Idk if I know how to prepare for a beach day even! We aren’t huge seafood eaters so I’m nervous about finding good restaurants. And I don’t want to get suckered into any tourist scams that aren’t worth the money. Visiting this area will be almost like a culture shock to us and I don’t want to feel overwhelmed the whole time, so any pieces of advice or tips and tricks would be appreciated more than I can express!!

Coffee Shop Recommendations
Hi, all! I'm going to be visiting Panama City Beach next month and I'm so excited. I love discovering new coffee shops and am wondering if anyone has any they would recommend. I particularly love iced lattes and good pastries. I've done some Googling but would love to hear which shops locals like ☕️

Family Friendly Beach Dining with Live Music/ Line Dancing
We haven't visited PCB since we had a kiddo and now I want to make sure we can do as much as possible with her :) I am looking for recommendations for beachfront dining, where we can have good live music, a little bit of shade, and good seafood, but get live music at like a 4:30/5 dinner time! My 6 year old is a party and she needs to be able to dance lol. Also, maybe a family friendly place with some line dancing in the 6pm time frame. Thank you for all recs!

Planet Fitness
Does anyone know where the beach side Planet Fitness is going? I see the billboard by the market/old indoor kart place. Makes me wonder if they are taking that empty spot since the space is so large? Surely they aren’t building an entire new building for this right 😅

Accountant/ tax professional
Looking for recommendations for a local account to handle year end tax prep. I need someone who will help us get the maximum legal write offs and minimize tax burden. Thanks in advance.

Fishing questions
Hey all, gonna be visiting Panama from August 31st-September 4th. How’s the fishing in Panama? And do any of you all have any charters you’d recommend? I’ve got a few surf fishing set ups, but I’d love to try out a charter.

Bertha?
I’m supposed to be driving my daughter 7 hours today for her first beach trip. How is it looking with the tropical storm? I’m not seeing much about this on the news only TicTok.

Bikers.
26m Looking for a few people who enjoy riding on Wednesdays and Thursdays. I usually just head out and cruise, but it'd be cool to have a few others to ride with now and then. If you're nearby and interested, send me a message.

PCB Market - Cake Pops
Not sure if this is allowed, but I wanted to let everyone know I’ll be set up at the PCB Market today and tomorrow!
If you’re looking for a sweet treat to get you through the weekend, come say hi and check out what I’ve been baking!
Here is this weekend’s flavor lineup:
Banana Pudding: A fan favorite that tastes just like the classic dessert.
Chocolate Peanut Butter: The perfect balance of rich cocoa and creamy peanut butter.
Lemon Blueberry: Fresh, zesty, and perfect for the summer heat.
Strawberry: A bright, fruity classic.
Toasted Coconut: For those who love a little extra texture and flavor.
We are open from 9:00 AM to 4:00 PM today (Saturday) and will be there from 10:00 AM to 3:00 PM tomorrow (Sunday). You can find my booth located down the very first row of vendors on the left side of the market. The entire market is indoors, so it’s the perfect spot to escape the heat, enjoy some nice AC, and grab a treat! 🥥🌴☀️

Anyone that was at Diego’s on 7/6 feeling sick?
Pretty sure some people in our group got the cyclospora parasite from Diego’s on sunset drive Monday 7/6. Wondering if anyone else did?

What tour or boat rental for just floating in blue clear water drinking adult beverages
I see a lot of tours to Shell Island or dolphin spotting. I just want to go out in the gulf, find some clear water, and float with a beer in my hand.
Willing to rent a boat if that's a better option. Any sand bars to drop an anchor?

Florists with Sunday Delivery?
We're arriving in town on a Sunday for vacation and it happens to also be my wife's birthday. I was hoping to surprise her with flowers in the condo, but I'm struggling to find a local florist open on Sundays. Is my Google-fu just weak? Do you fine folks know of one? Thanks!

Luggage storage
I have a 10am checkout for a 6pm flight. Id like to rent a gold cart and cruise town or something before we fly home. Is there anywhere in PCB that offers daily storage for luggage? Im in Lakeside Wharf and their storage is managed by the HOA and unavailable to me

Where to live
Hi everyone. I will probably be posting similar posts over the next few days and weeks. I have been working a fly in/fly out job in PCB and Panama City for the last year but because of that I pretty much just know a handful of hotels and the restaurants I would drive by on my way to/from work. I just took a full time job there with a big pay raise so I'm going to be moving to town.
I am originally from a somewhat wealthy suburb of NYC and currently live in Miami. *I fully get* that I'm going to have some hard culture shock. I'm okay with it and am just happy to have this opportunity and meet whoever my new neighbors will be. With that said: I am curious where are the good places to look for housing and try to live that might help the culture shock be a bit more gentle. I'm blessed enough that this job comes with very good pay so I can probably live anywhere except mega mega luxury places. Looking for a decent place for my 2 year old to be able to run around and ride her little tricycle and not have to worry about main road traffic turning her into a tragic story. Would strongly prefer if it is a nice looking community and has some commercial stuff (publix, maybe some local restaurants) nearby so I dont have to always drive >15 minutes to do anything. A buddy of mine lives in the development by breakfast club academy and thats exactly the sort of place I'm thinking of. Are there more areas like that for me to nudge my (future) real estate agent to show me?
