Hi all!

My name is Conor, and I work in clinical operations at Attune Neurosciences.
Our investigational headset uses low-intensity focused ultrasound, a form of non-invasive brain stimulation that uses sound waves, to modulate activity in deep brain regions involved in pain. The device has not been approved by the FDA for doctors to prescribe; its use in this study is investigational (experimental).

We are currently enrolling participants for a research study in San Francisco to evaluate whether it can help improve chronic pain. The study is reviewed by an external Institutional Review Board (Advarra IRB). We are looking for adults ages 22–80 who have had chronic pain for at least 3 months and are local to the San Francisco area.

Participation includes a screening call, a baseline visit with a cranial MRI and device fitting, and three in-person stimulation sessions over about two weeks, plus at-home monitoring devices and brief daily surveys through our mobile app. Every participant receives active stimulation, there is no placebo. Side effects reported with similar devices have generally been mild to moderate, such as headache, dizziness, changes in mood or scalp tenderness, and have usually resolved on their own within hours to days. Participants can receive up to approximately $1,350 in compensation for completing the study.
