My current setup is more modern and my TV is literally just close enough that my wired controllers reach. Wireless options aren’t widely available and any that are usually don’t look comfortable. I gave this one by Retro Fighters a shot and have to say I love it. Feels great. As good as a new Series X/S controller. I don’t notice any latency. Rumble is strong. Totally recommend!! (Not a partner at all with them, this is the third controller I’ve purchased myself from them. Just sharing for those who may need something like this and were on the fence!)

Finally got into the web interface for my DGL-3420 D-Link original Xbox adapter! Been trying for ages to do this, and eventually figured it out! It was both setting up a static/manual IP address and setting up the same subnet mask (255.255.255.0) for the ethernet network adapter, basically the ethernet port, in the PC's network settings that was the whole trick in getting access to the interface screen.

I was gonna update the firmware version manually to fix an issue connecting the Wi-Fi adapter to a WPA-PSK secured network or WPA mixed with WPA2-PSK through the Xbox dashboard wireless settings.

Waiting for my crystal shell to come in from the UK but I have all the needed components for the upgrade, 40 pin 80 wire cable, startech adapters, 2tb hdd, 256mb flash drives, mech assault, etc. watched Mr Mario’s video last night and it seems I can just install Rocky perfectly fine after already having Insignia ? Seems like it in the videos but just wanted to confirm. Any extra info is always appreciated. Thanks !

I bought a new Xbox with Evolution X installed. I've tried everything I can find to get it to work but it wont connect as my Xbox rejects the connection.

I have an application called 'Xbox FTP Client' but still rejects the connection.

I was hanging out at home the other day and started to smell what I thought was burning electronics. After looking all over for a source, I determined it was coming from my recapped and modded 1.0. It was plugged in but powered off, so I quickly unplugged it, it was rather warm on the bottom side, so I took it apart. Looks like a cracked joint at this diode got a bit unhappy with itself.

I know of the issues at the power connector itself, and have resoldered that already, I should have done a better job looking for potential other problem spots!

Glad I was home! Perhaps a USB C PSU mod is in my future. Stay safe out there and happy gaming!

Not sure if this is the right place to post/ask, if not let me know, but can anybody give me any info as to why my copy of DOA Xtreme Beach Volleyball doesn’t work on my Xbox, despite working on a different Xbox, and after being resurfaced?all of my other games load just fine, so I’m at a loss and anything would help, thanks!

Finally got a drive that works, loaded Skeleton Key and ran XCAT. It said 41 files newly archived. Is there anyway to see what files they were and if there was anything interesting/important?

Someone at work was giving away an Xbox for free and I'm over the moon about it. I've been doing research and I've known for a long time that I need to remove the clock capacitor, but wanted to double check with the sub to make sure I do it right.

I'm guessing it's already leaked or is starting to, because the console has a weird problem where it can only be turned on by pressing the eject button. The disc tray also doesn't work half the time, but that's expected.

My questions are:

• Before removing the capacitor, is there anything else I need to check for outside of whether or not the console is a version 1.6? I'm very much not tech savy, but I am pretty sure the console is stock and hasn't been softmodded in any way.
• How possible is it to reverse any of the potential damage caused by the capacitor? I have not gotten inside yet due to needing the right screwdrivers, so I haven't seen the extent. I've seen posts about using rubbing alcohol and a q-tip/toothbrush, but I don't wanna just go for it without knowing what I am up against.
• Is there any fix for a disc tray that refuses to open at times? I realize this in itself is probably a very common problem. I had the same issue on my 360 as a kid and would (foolishly) just smack the thing to get it to open.

I'm just looking to get the most out of the console now that I have it, but I don't wanna invest too much into it if it's "too late" to fix. If that's the case, I'll simply remove the capacitor and get whatever life left out of it that I can.

Hi, I got an og Xbox from eBay came like this from shipping and everything works perfectly fine expect from the led light got a full refund because of what happened, but I was wondering what mods I can do to this Xbox, should I do a case swap at this point what other mods should I do, also thought ill share what games I have so far too!

Got myself a launch team console, it has a few cracks but I decided to keep the shell. Gave it new paste and removed the clock capacitor. I’m going to probably do a quiet nexus mod and replace the disc drive as this one opens but doesn’t read. Any ideas on what to do? I won’t be throwing out then original parts for obvious reasons. Also, what games do you recommend? I mostly played the 360.
