She’s never really put out that many flowers, but they’re usually on the bigger side ~4” across. Just wanted to share:)

I had an oops with the spike... Draping artfully didn't work out. I will stake it next time. I am using a Neofineta falcata to support the almost 2ft long spike. 26 blooms including the last bud I expect to open this week.

I've been rehabilitating this one pretty much all year! It had a less than ideal shipping experience and had to cross a few borders, no less! I've been very excited for this first little bloom. You couldn't ask for a better thumbs up from your plant who was on the brink of death 6 months prior.

While I know this one isn't as popular as some of the other lepanthes that I've posted recently, it definitely holds a special place in my heart. It's one of the few blooming orchids I have that features green petals. To me, this bloom looks like a green luna moth resting on sparkling fire! How about you? Are you like me- a moth drawn to this flower's flame? 💚🔥

Had this plant for a few years and always got male flowers. This flowering I get a female spike AND a male spike. Should I pollinate?

I bought this orchid three weeks ago and I changed its soil the second i got it and in those three weeks I watered it two times the roots are green and as you can see its fully bloomed and the leaves are also green and i want it to be big and beautiful. Is it a good time to pollinate it?? Or should I wait till fall because I searched on Google and it said that I can pollinate my orchid once my flowers are fully bloomed

Third year my D. Love Memory 'Fizz' has bloomed. Every year it keeps getting better and better. In a few days this will fill the room with a wonderful fragrance in the mornings.

It was from a friend, he accidentally left the door of his greenhouse open in winter. So this guy here got frozen. I have been taken care of it since May, it grow lots of roots for me, and two new leaves.

Now the roots are so strong, they climbed on the bark. I took off the wires since last month, and it’s doing okay.

Hope it would bloom for me next year.

I love me some multi floral paphs, especially the summer blooming types. I have two that bloomed around the same time to each other due to the philippinense parentage in their genetics. The Saint Swithin hasn't bloomed in almost 3yrs. Last time, it bloomed 8 flowers on two fans and is doing it again with this spectacular show.

Crouching Tiger, I got in the orchid show of South Carolina from Marble Branch Farms. He always has great paphs for sale. This blooming came to a total of 10 flowers. Might be another 2yrs but as always I'll be looking forward to it.

I have been delivered what you can see on the 1st photo a couple of months ago. Those are the actual photos taken after unboxing that I have attached to my e-mail to the shop that sold it to me. They had a big orchid sale and at the time I did not think they (the shop) would disappear completly. As of today the shop does not exists anymore. But it was a legit one. I have bought orchids there over the last two years many times.

My last orderer had 12 orchids in it, all came in a tangled ball without pots and media🥲. Most of them quiet alive, just dehydrated, even found piececes of a dendrobium tangled inbetween that I did not order but did manage to propagate, because I felt bad for it😂.

The pictured laelia sp. (no variety provided) came in the worst condition. I was ready to throw it away if not for the green leaves making me, again, feel bad for it.

My rescue process included an anti fungus spray, a brassinolide soak and plastic bag half full of moist vermiculite. Then neglect. I poked a couple of holes into the bag and just hanged it on my window frame. The same for the dendrobium.

I have recently moved both of my rescues into their own pots. Happy even that I can finally look after it the normal way.

Sometime around those events, I got a notification from a private seller's app that an orchid I have been looking for was added to offers.

It was posted the next day after my purchase.

But took 9 weeks to arrive. 😭

After unboxing and a clean up of rot and dry parts you can see what I was left with.

It's another rescue, I guess😭. Will update if it is a success.

A phalenopsis gigantea x gigantea alba and a phalenopsis Siam Treasure that parts of a friend of mine was about to throw away and a bulbophyllum medusae and phal. suartiana delivered to her during the very cold weather that got her plants frozen.

I have no mighty conclusion here. 😂 Guess, everything is worth a try? Right? RIGHT?

My only remaining flower on my encyclia alata. Cats got the other flowers I think. Its been growing on this coral rock for at least 20 years. Have another one growing on a fossil shell.

This phal had been neglected for quite a while. The potting media had completely broken down, most of the roots were dead, and she was bone dry… I cleaned off all the old media, trimmed the dead roots, soaked the remaining healthy roots, and repotted her into fresh orchid mix.

She only has a handful of healthy roots left, but there are several bright green new root tips, so I’m hopeful! I also cut off the old flower spike since it was completely spent.

This is my very first rescue, so I’d love any feedback. Does everything look okay? Is there anything you would have done differently, or any tips for helping her recover over the next few months?

Hello, I’m a beginner with Orchids and I got a couple of them a few months ago. I’ve been hesitating to make a post because I get anxious, but it got to a point where one of my plants suffered a lot and I want help to learn so it doesn’t happen again.

Recently I repotted them and one of them started to dry. Like first the stems and then the leaves. At first I thought it didn’t like the new soil but my other Orchid started thriving. Like it’s growing babies and looks brightly green, roots are chunky and the stems are strong.

Now that this one’s last leaves fell I noticed they were black in the center so I suppose water accidentally got inside the crown and caused it to rot. I took it out of the pot to check it and indeed it had rotting roots. I already cut them.

My main question is: Do yall think it can be saved? 😞 I really wouldn’t want to get rid of it. I really loved it’s flower. Some of the roots still look greeny but maybe yall can see something I don’t. And in case I can help it can you guys please instruct me on what to do?

One of my cattleya’s put out a sheath and there’s clearly something inside of it growing. I don’t remember any of the other cattleyas (that produce a sheath and that I’ve successfully bloomed)taking this long to grow the bud. Some background: It’s a hybrid, called Lc. Magic Bell and its parents are Ctt. Trick or Treat x C. loddigesii. I got it over a year ago and it started growing a pseudobulb that was pretty tall and ended up producing a blank sheath. So I thought this year for sure. This pseudobulb is taller than the shelf so I actually had to move it from the original place it was in because I wouldn’t be able to see the flower or it might have somehow grown disfigured.

Should I give it some help and cut open the sheath? I’ve heard sometimes the bud will start to rot inside. I want to say it’s been about a month since the bud started developing and it seems a little flat to me Maybe for the parentage it hasn’t been long enough? I’m honestly worried that I shouldn’t have move it and it’s upset at me. Thank you in advance for any insight.

Ive not long started my orchid collection and im wondering if ive got them in good health? The blue pot one has lost its bloom now and ive repotted it. The green pot one is new. Please lmk!

Last bloom was in October when I got her, so I'm super glad I got another one now. ♥️

I wish my Oncidium would bloom soon as well, but it doesn't seem like it will.

This needs repoted and cleaned up even if they are in bloom right? Got them from the Clarence area in krogers last night.
