This subreddit does not endorse or oppose any political ideology, movement, or public figure. That includes Sonam Wangchuk, political parties, activist groups, and every other cause, regardless of intent.
We have seen an increase in posts asking the subreddit to take an official stance. We will not be doing so.
Supporting men's mental health does not require this community to become a political platform. Many national issues, including the NEET paper leak, have had devastating consequences for people's mental health. That is a reality. It is also true that if we begin endorsing one political cause because it affects men, there is no principled way to refuse the next. Every major issue eventually intersects with men's lives.
A few points need to be addressed directly:
Being neutral means you're against Wangchuk.
No. Neutrality is not opposition. Choosing not to endorse a political movement is a decision about the scope of this community, not a judgment on the movement itself.
This subreddit is run by male feminists.
Labels do not change moderation policy. Rules are applied based on the purpose of the community, not on ideological identity. Personal attacks against moderators or members will not substitute for constructive discussion.
This is a men's rights issue, so the subreddit should support it.
This is a men's support community, not a political advocacy organization. Those are different missions. Our responsibility is to keep this space focused on helping men, not representing them politically.
The easiest mistake to make is believing that every problem deserves to be solved in the same room. It does not.
Political activism has its place. So do support communities. When you merge the two, the people who came here looking for understanding instead find ideological battles. The men who need this space the most are often the first to stop speaking.
Our responsibility is not to win political arguments. Our responsibility is to preserve a place where a man can talk about loneliness, grief, addiction, anxiety, relationships, or suicidal thoughts without those conversations being overshadowed by partisan conflict.
That boundary is intentional and it's how we have decided to protect the purpose of this community.
Future political posts, regardless of ideology or cause, will be removed. This policy applies equally to everyone.
