Discussion Parrying and deflection according to no-hit rules

I've always thought parrying was allowed for no-hit while deflection was only for no-damage, but I've since read that maybe some people think parrying counts as a hit as well. Also that team hitless seems to allow deflection for no hit.

Is there a general consensus on this?

Discussion Is it only me or should there be a feature to remove innate status effects like bleed?

Upvotes

I mean it’s a simple feature they could put in tarnished edition and it would just be an infusion or a talisman, great katanas always have bleed and u cant ever remove it, would be a nice feature

Blooper/Fail DS3 shenanigans

Post Elden Ring, going back to DS3, I've learned a few things so far. DS3 is still good...but not as good as I used to think. First few bosses are pretty mid to bad, and then the good ones often have a mostly good first phase and a cursed second phase. Something I can't believe I hadn't noticed before is the fact that DS3's bosses don't really have actual combos until the DLC. Their combos are not set like they are in Elden Ring but instead consist of singular moves strung together in a number of ways that sometimes make them seem random. Quick follow ups to punish you for thinking it was the end of the 'combo', yeah those have to be my favorite. It's a reaction game without animation canceling, which is...yeah. Can't really learn a pattern when there is none. Overall, I prefer pattern recognition bosses in this style of game, because if it's going to be about reactions, there has to be animation canceling, or at the very least every single move should always be reactable. They either changed their mind or figured this out when they were making the DLCs, because that's where you see actual pattern based combos, and this carries over full force into Elden Ring. ER bosses > DS3 bosses, for the most part.

Discussion Questions about no-roll in ER

Kind of curious about this, it seems like not many people do no-roll for ER compared to the other games.

  1. What are the easiest remembrance bosses on no roll? My first and only no-roll was Fortissax so I'm assuming he's much easier than the others.
  2. Are backsteps allowed if you don't use all crucibles for iframes? I assume jumping is allowed. And are you expected to do it hitless?
  3. Which bosses are not possible on low damage no-roll? By possible I don't mean every move is necessarily consistently avoidable, but just that you can reasonably do a +0 no aux against them. I know PCR for sure isn't because lol tracking, hitboxes and arena wide AOEs. Malenia no-roll with aux seems okay tbh given how easy it is to space her moves, but do you have to use a frost pot for waterfowl?
  4. Any general tips or good starting points? Not that I'm too eager to try myself, but maybe one day

Boss Kill vs Godrick, wl0 feat. Lordsworn's Greatsword

!!! The reason I haven't received godrick's great rune at the end there is because this is my second victory against him. When I beat him the first time, I tried to export the vid but it turned out I wasn't recording. . . resurrected him with tarnished tool and ran that back.

I don't understand what possessed me to fight him on the staircase. All it did is made me unable to headshot and crit him, and also prompted him to do the storm blade projectile after his stormcaller move. Why am I always making my life difficult.

anyways,

Reasons for using this weapon: Rick doesn't answer to anybody.

why are the blobs in his arena, idk if it's a glitch but I've died and this would happen and he would stagger and take tones of damage off him damaging him and the blobs with the flame

3nd playthrough and first ds3 challenge run(sl1 +0 run) so I'm kinda ass at this game but I'm having fun so it's fine.

I missed some backshots but was an 'ok' fight overall. That attack at 3:20, it was the first time I ever saw it so the dodge was not there lol.

Took me 30 min to get the kill. Also forgot to show stats but how well.

Hello everyone, long time lurker here.

I have finally finished my all rememberance bosses run and I have not been this happy in a long long time. Just wanted to thank everyone in this sub who posted tips and completed runs, y'all were my biggest motivation.

And for everyone currently in their own first run, YOU GOT IT.

DS3 SL1, here I come !

Discussion Holy heck, square off is so overpowered even at RL1.

Basically 2/3 hits on any boss to stagger. Jeez louise, I think I used this too much on my run especially int he early game. Need to mix it up a bit.

What are some other good early weapon/ash combos?

kind of a close call on the last hit, but that's the first dlc done, ended up using a brightbug because I was tired of him just flying around. second dlc is next, already completed most of it to get items so its mainly the bosses left

I tried getting fancy and hard swapping to a black flame tornado build between bosses at first, decided to forget all that and just go back to what works, slamming down two giant spiked balls on sticks until I win.

All remembrance bosses from the base game, done!

Reupload bc I don't know how to make a reddit post apparently lol

Played a good amount of Sekiro, never challenge ran it. Basically just doing CLDB and base Vit/Attack. Also avoiding really OP prosthetics/arts, the only ones I have in mind right now are the mortal draws but I'll add more as I become more familiar with them. Probably avoiding Sabimaru just bc it's a status, but we'll see. The nice thing about this game is that I don't have to worry about not doing this guy hitless bc I can just refight him when I want to, I <3 Sekiro!!!
