My doc of 20 years recently retired so I am looking for a new one in the Greater Olean area preferably. Nothing wrong medically but do need to get my yearly physical.

My husband and I recently adopted a lab mix puppy 2 weeks ago.
She is 14 weeks old now.
And last two days, she’s having an illness issue
Vomit, diarrhea, lethargy and Google said it is red flag need to go to a vet immediately
We have a primary vet in Bradford for our cat
They open early morning, so I was trying to go in there with her when they open but they didn’t open right on time and there was a paper says we don’t take walk ins

Anyways, after all she seemed okay.
I came back home, she ate some food she was having a nap, then she started throwing up again.

No matter what we need to bring her to a different vet in Olean on Saturday for her vaccine.
But I’m worried I just want to take her any vets
Sounds like all of vet don’t take a new clients or full of reservations

Idk what I should do
Should I just need to go to Orchard Park Vet medical center??

We recently moved to Olean from Atlanta, and we love it so far. My wife’s only complaint is the lack of Fabric stores out here.

Does anyone have any recommendations of fabric stores or warehouses between, Erie, Buffalo, Olean, and Rochester?

Not including Hobby Lobby in this.

Did anyone else on here go to the OHS reunion this weekend?

My husband and I (late 30s) are moving to Olean in July for his job and need a place for the two of us and our older dog. Any leads on rentals or tips on where and where not to look are appreciated. We're pretty open to location, type of rental, and number of bedrooms. Move-in date is also pretty flexible. The ideal would be a house or lower unit. A garage is a huge bonus. Would definitely take an upper if it was month to month.

I'm coming here because there are fewer than 20 properties of any kind available to rent in and around Olean between Zillow, Apartments. com, FB Marketplace, On Point, and Craigslist, and nothing allows dogs. We'd be open to buying (we own a house in Buffalo), but want to wait until we're a bit more familiar with the city.

Also, how's the internet in Olean? I work remotely for a company in Buffalo and need reliable internet.

I'm tired of it. Olean is loaded with homeless people. Industry is gone. Business is failing. People are moving away.

I recently came across Jim King's campaign for NY-23, and he describes himself as a "traditional" or moderate Republican who's focused on accountability and problem-solving.

What are everyone's thoughts on the term moderate Republican? And do voters in Upstate New York still want candidates in the middle, or has politics become too polarized for that? Would you be more likely to support someone willing to work across party lines, or do you think candidates need to firmly pick a side these days?

Hi Olean residents! We are new to the area and have been here for about 3 months, currently staying in a short-term rental. My partner and I are looking to rent a decent place with 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms, but we are having a really tough time finding one.

I actually started searching about 6 months before we even moved here, checking Zillow and Facebook Marketplace regularly. The situation has been pretty discouraging. There is almost nothing available that meets our requirements. On the rare occasion a listing does pop up, it either gets rented within a day, the listing disappears without explanation, or the owner simply stops responding with no follow-up.

At this point, I am not sure what our options are. Is buying a home the only realistic path forward here?

If buying is the route we have to take, I am not sure it makes sense for us given that we are only planning to be in Olean for about few years. I am also genuinely unsure about the rental demand in this area. Is the rental market strong enough that we could rent the home out after we leave, or is the low number of listings a sign that there is not much demand for 3-bedroom homes here to begin with? That would make buying feel even riskier.

Any advice or insight from locals would be really appreciated. Thank you!
