Can anyone tell me how to configure Tampermonkey or Ublock Origin so I can go on old reddit without being forced to log in? I am currently using Firefox on a computer. I had a similar issue on my iphone nagging me to download the app and I was able to bypass it by using Safari Ublock Origin Lite on complete mode and selecting all seven annoyance filters.

old.reddit has now been degraded so that the sub you attempt to view when first browsing to Reddit can't be viewed because of how they stop you to ask for a login first "to keep Reddit safe". It will keep reloading that page until you click the link, at which point it redirects to the sub with a ?screen_view_count=1 appended. Anyone have any more information on that? Changing that number seems to have no effect at all.

Are you guys finding this as well? So often I'll click a user's name to see their post history or to see where they're posting most often, and I'll get a, "There doesn't seem to be anything here." It's not happening all the time, but I'd say 4/5 times.

Went to visit a sub I've visited a million times (it's not even a NSFW sub, but some posts are NSFW) and was met with "there doesn't seem to be anything here". So I tried new reddit and was instantly hit with an age verification prompt. Not once on previous accounts had this ever happened, and obviously this never happened before you were required to login. Get fucked reddit. This site was a shithole when I first got here in 2010, but at least it was a shithole I could browse freely. Now it's just a shithole.

Essentially, the title. I've seen a post I find interesting, but it has been deleted by the OP. The comments are locked (archived) and of little help as they are right now. Is there any way to see the contents of the post (unsure if it's text, a link, or media file) now?

Girldinnerdiaries is a load of crock. Mildlyinfuriating is fake or staged photos with a made-up wild story, literally a sub created for ragebaiting engagement.

Reddit is fucked. It's become a mix of 4chan and Facebook.

Seems like I've only noticed this for the last couple of weeks tops. I can see linked media, read text posts, and photo galleries as usual, but redditors in the a few threads now talking about media or post content that is not visible in old reddit. maybe out of 50 posts, 3 or 4 are like this. Anyone else?

There was a time when disagreeing with someone didn't warrant a dowvote, and I miss those times. Back in the day whenever someone did that shit, they'd get called out. Today? Everyone is on new reddit like it's instagram and they treat a dowvote as a disagreement button.

When I scroll down on a post that includes media, the entire top 1/3 of the window is taken up by a sticky top bar that keeps playing the media. I can close it, but it's a pain to do it on every single post, and I hate the thing. Is there a setting somewhere? Does RES have a setting? How do I kill this thing?

previously, all of my subscribed subreddits and followed users displayed in the top left "my subreddits" dropdown, however since around 2 days ago, only a very small portion of them do. on the modern website, all of them still display normally.

this is not an RES issue, as it happens with RES both enabled and disabled, and also happens on an alternate device with no extensions at all.

is anyone else experiencing this issue?

As of this morning my 'home' page (ie what you get for [old.]reddit.com) has been cut to sixteen posts and has no 'next' — like, this is all we will give you.

Specific sub-reddits are still showing the default 25 and have a 'next' — is there a way to get this back for the base page?

As of this morning it seems that the option to default to Old Reddit no longer works for me. I tried turning it off and back on but it's still completely ignored when i navigate the site. Is there something i should do to make it work again (aside from using old.reddit)?

Have they removed the possibility to access chat from old reddit now, or is this a bug?

Edit: after a few hours and refreshes it came back!
