Martyrs is at least tonally consistent with how horrible and nihilistic it is. Splice is fairly normal for the first half and then just t-bones you with the icky stuff.

A lot of people liked her as Magik. Of all the problems the movie had, the cast wasn't one of them. They did their best with what they had to work with. I thought it was a decent movie overall, but I can see why people didn't like it.

I liked the movie too. It was different than the rest of the marvel being put out. It wasn’t great by any means but I was entertained throughout.

That's how I felt about it. It probably helped that after reading about all the delays and reshoots my expectations were pretty low. I thought it was cool that they tried to do a horror movie set in the X-Men world. I wish the MCU would get a little more experimental with stuff like that.
