Let’s just say for a second he meant period accurate not historically accurate, because it’s not history. What DID Greek and Turkish people look like then?

This is how Greeks depicted themselves, and researchers think that Bronze Age “Greeks” were darker then they are today.

Turkic peoples didn’t start settling in Anatolia until centuries after Homer, and long, long after the time period for the story. They were a Central Asian steppe people and started settling in Anatolia in the 11th Century CE.
