I've been doing a lot of flying for work of late, and usually without Sky-Fi, I've even noticed this happening on the tube (I live in London usually). Whenever I've tried to use Notability on planes I get this hysterical 'No Internet Connection' that seems to repeat and repeat when the app can't connect.

Is there any way to stop this from happening, as it makes the App impossible to use, the lag is so horrendous you can't actually make any notes or move between documents in folders. This is especially frustrating as time away from wifi is usually a great time to regroup on notes and organise things - and if the App you use to organise things won't work it's infuriating.

• Are others experiencing this?
• Is it connected to this Cloud update?
• Are there any workarounds?

Since the Android version will likely launch with fewer features than the iOS version, what do you think would be a fair subscription price? And if they also offer a one-time purchase, what price would you consider reasonable?

I have to use a Windows PC for work and the Notability web app will not sync my notes. The app is syncing between iPhone and iPad and I have checked that the iCloud sync is turned on, but nothing shows up on the web app. Any advice for what I am doing wrong? Thanks and apologies since I am sure this has been posted here, but I couldn’t find an existing thread about it.

Is there any way to hide or move the circled toolbar? It always gets in front of what I am typing and makes it hard to see what I’m trying to type. Any help is much appreciated!!

Hi, I used auto deselect eraser both squeeze and tap on Apple Pencil prI before ver.16.7 update. Can you please return this option?

Any update on release dates for custom outlines, infinite canvas, shapes tool? The outlines especially would be amazing and easy to locate things within your notes

While using the app, I noticed a few things I'm missing or that competitors do better. I'd like to suggest these as improvements:

Eraser: Please show a small circle indicating the eraser area. I couldn't find a setting for this.

Deleted Notes: An offline trash bin with no time limit that stays on the device.

Audio Notes: Better handling is needed. After recording, the button turns into a playback button, while the record button moves further along in the toolbar. I find this very confusing, and the positions should be swapped. There should also be a dedicated column for recordings and transcriptions, where individual recordings can be deleted without having to navigate through submenus. Alternatively, there should be an option to assign a recording to a specific page, and ideally to a specific position on that page.

Toolbar: Make it permanently fixed, and consider extending it with shortcuts or additional tools.

Keyboard Text Input: An option to insert typed text directly as a text block.

Folders: Improve the overall folder handling. Subfolders should be shown directly within their parent folder. Additionally, show the note count next to the folder listing (as a toggleable option).

Pen: Allow favorite color and size presets to be assigned to the squeeze gesture for quick selection.

Zooming: Add double-tap for zoom and zoom-to-fit, along with the ability to save custom zoom levels and access them via shortcut, for example: 1. Zoom-fit, 2. Custom level, 3. Custom level.

Folders: Add a dedicated favorites folder alongside Home, Notes, and Gallery.

Notes: Add tabs for notes to quickly switch between them. I know there's a swipe gesture from the left edge for quick switching, but it doesn't work for me.

Notes: Make renaming and moving notes easier instead of burying it in nested submenus.

Handwriting: Handwriting doesn't render sharply. Some kind of anti-aliasing/smoothing would help.

Notability Cloud: An option to fully disable Notability's own cloud, so that only iCloud or a service of one's choice can be used.

Share Button: Make the share button in the top toolbar customizable. Currently it directly generates a link, it would be great to have the option to swap this for "Export as" instead.

• Focus Mode: 4-finger tap in your notes to turn it on. Drag the pill to reposition it, or use the hand tool to hide it

• Less urgent notifications now have a new home. Find them in the notification menu at the top right of the library
• Learn now supports images in Chat
• Fixed bugs with the selection menu, Apple Pencil squeeze, and blurry PDFs

I used to love the fact that clicking on my pencil pro I can just erase right away.. now with the new update, it gives me the same crap-wheel as Apple notes and I have to manually click on the eraser... LOSS of a huge amount of time.

Any way to go back to how it was before? I am seriously considering switching to Apple notes if Notability is going to just copy it

I got a delay when using an eraser to delete a whole line. After raising the pen, there's a split second delay before the line is deleted. Is this normal?

I'm using Notability 16.7 on an iPad Pro M1, iOS27 beta3.

My subscription was to end this weekend, so I bought the Classic on the website with the discount code (as instructed) because there was no other way to get the deal on the apple app store.

Since my prior subscription ended, my app on my ipad and macbook reverted back to Starter and says i've reached my note limit. meanwhile if i login to notability web, it says i have Classic. I've followed all instructions with their AI troubleshooter and still have not found an answer. I was instructed to check my apple purchase history and was told if its not listed then its an issue with apple. But ofcourse it wont be under the apple purchase history because i paid for it on the Notability website, not the app store.

Anyone else having this problem? How do I get a refund? I need a working app, and clearly it is not with notability anymore.

Notability was one of the first apps I bought when I got my iPad in 2018 (along with Procreate), and I’ve used it almost daily ever since.

I started out using it for UX, research, and sketching. After leaving product design in 2019, I began using it for architecture and spatial design. I’ve since sketched hundreds of floor plans and building concepts with millions of iterations. The simple drawing tools, lines, shapes, and freeform workflow make it perfect for early architectural design before I move into Rayon and SketchUp.

The recent update, however, has introduced a few issues that are seriously affecting my workflow:

1. Align to angle is gone. Previously, dragging an object near another at an angle would snap it to the same orientation. It was incredibly useful for architecture. The rotation tool isn’t an adequate replacement because it’s difficult to match the exact angle.

2. Two/three-finger tap undo is unreliable. Undo/redo now works inconsistently, and tapping to deselect also seems buggy until I interact with the Pencil.

3. Selection accuracy and object order. Selecting objects has become much less precise, especially when items are close together. I also run into situations where I can’t select the object that’s visually on top, particularly over filled shapes.

4. Grid toggle shifts drawings. Turning the grid on or off appears to move artwork by about a pixel. Since I use the grid as a drawing reference, this means having to realign my work.

Also, are there any architects or interior designers here using Notability as part of their workflow?

I had downloaded notability on my Samsung tab S10 Fe a few months back for free and switched to it 2 weeks ago. I feel more comfortable making notes on it as for some reason my handwriting is better on it. My only concern is that since it's still in beta and beta is free, will I lose access to it and worse, access to my notes once the app is fully released? I just don't wanna lose my notes. Can anyone guide me? Thank you for your time.

Whenever I open large files with +2000 pages, it lets me scroll through it for about a minute and then forces me out of the app

I did everything I could - I deleted about 700 hundered files from notability - I updated the app - I even updated my Ipad as I figured I didn’t update it yet - I don’t have excess Ipad storage

Nothing changed

However, when I use notablity in my Macbook everything goes smoothly. What should I do? The only problem I have is full iCloud storage. Is this the problem?

Hi everyone,
I’m currently on the Classic version (purchased back in 2020) and looking to upgrade to the Plus subscription since I’m heading back to school this September.
Right now, I see a discounted price offered on the website , but I don’t actually need any of the premium features (like transcription) for July and August. Ideally, I’d prefer to wait until September to start paying.
Does anyone know how long the current upgrade discount for Classic users usually lasts? Also, based on previous years, do they typically run a Back to School promotion late August or early September that might match or beat the current offer?
I just want to avoid missing out on a good deal if the current discount disappears before the semester starts. Thanks in advance for any insights!

My wife has been using notability for months on her Mac to take notes for schooling, suddenly she isn’t able to insert an image without the text moving over. She’s tried searching how to fix the text wrapping issue but the setting suggested by support don’t show up. Anyone else run into this or have a solution?

So I had the yearly plus edition for school, used it the past 2 years it was amazing I can’t complain. However now I’m out of school and only use 2 features of this app. It’s the infinite scrolling, I like that it add another page when I’m on the last one, and I like that I can upload a pdf to use as the template.

Now that I’m out of school the only thing I’m doing now is self studying Japanese kanji. This is why I need the template and why I like the scrolling. I would’ve kept the plan but after my current kanji page was entirely delete, which was around 11 pages, and I can’t get it back. I’m looking to either go to another app that has those two qualities I like that’s free, or if this app allows me to do that for free as well just cancel my subscription.

If someone could help answer these, that’d be greatly appreciated

It hasn’t been that long since I started taking notes on ipad. At first, I used GN, was always a bit annoyed of their UI. But apart from that, I have no problem. A few days ago, I started using Notability and liking so far of their UI and even considered buying a paid plan.

But i don’t know what should I choose?? The main thing I need from those paid plans are only unlimited notes.

GN has better customization and Notability’s UI is the best so far… so help me choose please.

Hi, switching from GN into Notability as the UI aligns much better with my use case, mainly taking notes during meetings with customers. I've started with the Plus edition and tried the recording and loved the Summary so much! I glanced fast at the plans comparison and decided to go to Pro for unlimited summaries... my bad, it was unlimited Smart Notes. Now the Smart notes try to summarize the meetings live, which ends up building a very large note artifact while the summaries, after the meeting is done, felt just perfect. Does anyone feel the same? Any chance to get the summaries while on Pro (besides the Smart notes)?
