Personally Sanada vs Yota has been one of my MANY favorites for this G1 but it's the standout for me. I don't know if it's just me but this year's G1 I feel like a lot of people really under looked it and thought the contestants seemed lacking and had less high stake and flashy match-ups compared to previous years.

I genuinely feel like almost every singles match has delivered and I'm finding myself enjoying the majority of these shows way more than the past 3 G1's I've seen!

It's been quite enjoyable and finding myself even liking some of precard the tag matches!

I really wish they'd replace Shota with a "lucky loser" from the playoffs like they do in tennis-- Taichi or ELP would be great additions! It's not like the injury happened 6 or 7 matches in; we (and the live fans) deserve to get 5 singles matches every show! And hell, it's not like they even HAVE to put a replacement in the competition itself-- I remember several years ago someone got injured and I think Yuji replaced them; the matches weren't worth any points but it was certainly better than nothing. I'm really enjoying this year so far otherwise!

Why do you think they don't do this anymore? Do you think they should?

What’s the reasoning for many of the shows having solo commentary? I believe Walker Stewart is one of the best. However I do miss the insight from Charlton. Why hasn’t he been on commentary for the biggest tournament in wrestling?

I love Japanese Pro Wrestling and I’m trying to get my friend into it, But I need truly excellent matches.
