I’m watching the commentary on the bluray and dvd and Matt talks about how they shot a 15 minute scene and Matt says it will be on the extended cut and Jared cuts him off and says on the dvd. Did Matt leak this or did he think they were making one? Or are they making one and it hasn’t been announced

In 2017, I dressed up as Matt for Halloween. Then I could not find the hat until a thorough closet cleaning this afternoon. The hat is the rug that pulls everything together.

Just a fun question about if they’ll change anything, I wonder if they’ll keep the viceland censor for The Booking and stuff like that.

I finished Operation Avalanche, and I have mixed feelings regarding it.
Firstly I’ll start with the praises, this film absolutely nails the era in which it’s set.
All the little details are covered, such as the sets and the music choices, not once was there a prop out of place or a time period error I noticed that brought me out of it, it was great.
The most obvious example of this however is of course the camera quality throughout the whole film, mimicking an old camera, it looks seamless, and is very impressive. I think the fake sets that were created also looked incredibly convincing (almost like that was the point!).

Now on to the parts I’m a little unsure about,
I’ll say this for a start, these are my opinions, as such, they are not fact (of course), however you feel is completely valid, and a random person’s opinion should not lessen your enjoyment of the film, etc. Anyway, I struggled to follow the narrative a little, with the vague nature of it all, it made it tricky at points to actually remember the connections certain characters have, particularly Matt with the higher ups at NASA. I felt this could have been alleviated a little bit by having the film’s pace be a little faster, which takes me on to my main criticism, this film really feels like it drags in points, which is a shame because it’s a great concept, it’s just in execution I feel like it really was a slow-burn, and unfortunately almost a slog at times to get through.

The positives definitely outweigh the negatives however, and I’m still happy I watched this film, the last film of Matt’s I was to watch!

Saw this playing GTA Online with my buddy. Had to dress for the occasion

It was odd for me personally how much enjoyment I got from this film, as I’m not usually into business type movies (I really like the wolf of Wall Street, however I mean something more like The Big Short). Blackberry felt like The Social Network and Wolf of Wall Street in one film, I thoroughly enjoyed it.
So far I’ve seen Nirvanna, The Dirties and now this and something I’ve noticed is the gradual nuisance coming into Johnson’s work the more recent it is, (obvious, I’m aware) but going from The Dirties to this, it felt like a huge step up.
I enjoyed the subtly in this film a lot, a lot of the messaging such as Mike’s constant strive for perfectionism, and there was a point where I felt so invested in the film that I actually got a feeling of dread during the scene of the office watching Apple’s iPhone presentation, it definitely was the beginning of the end, seeing Mike change completely too felt jarring and added so much to that rapid feeling of panic, “this is the end”.

Overall, a great film, I really enjoyed it!
