I used Mturk for years and only recently jumped back on again to find the site completely dead. I waited hours for a single $1 hit.
I'm legitimately confused why there are still people visiting this sub (not people like me checking to see if its still alive, I mean regular active participants in this sub).
Are some people actually still getting hits that I'm not seeing somehow (I have thousands of hits done and high quals, near-perfect acceptance rate)?

hey guys, i was working on a hit and when I refreshed, mturk informed me that my account got suspended, which sucks. I was hoping I can still do it until the 30th of july. Is there a way I can appeal it and what happens if I still have money in my account, like I am waiting to get paid for the things I have done and bonuses? How do I get that money that I worked for. Is there a way to appeal? Thanks so much

Please use this thread to ask any "newbie" questions you might have. Just getting started? Wondering where to go, what to do? Wondering what a qualification is and how to get it? This is the place! Please don't downvote questions just because they've been asked a million times before, that's not what this thread is for. This is supposed to be a place where anyone should be unafraid to ask anything, thanks!

Hi! I'm a linguistics researcher at SUNY Binghamton and I'm managing a requester account for my lab. Recently, we published a new survey on word meaning and are having a hard time gettings HITS. I'm new to this as a grad student, so any feedback on survey design and/or mturk usage are appreciated.
The HIT is called "Concept-feature judgments - $1.25 Bonus" and has the description "Contribute to the creation of concept models! Select all the features that apply to 3 different conceptual items (~10 mins). You will receive $.25 upon completion and an additional $1.25 for making a sufficient number of responses."
I won't add any internal details of the survey in line with the subreddit rules.
I've posted it a few times with different payment structures/descriptions including a flat $1.50 upon approval and now the $.25 instant, $1.25 bonus structure. Is there something about the description/title/payment that is off putting? There are certain things that I don't have control over as a grad student (such as the compensation), but I haven't had anyone take it in over 5 days and my PI and I are looking for solutions. I checked our reviews on turkview and they seem okay.. about average, so I'm not sure what else to do. I could see "concept-feature judgements" being weird or confusing.
Thank you for any advice, even if it's "you're doing all of this wrong", and I'm sorry if I am in fact doing all of this wrong.

If I'm trying to put a fair price on the Mturk tasks I need done and I put them up on the marketplace.. how reliable is it that they will be get done in quality/ a good amount of time?
I need to do like 50-60 tasks or even more on a daily basis, is it easy to find workers or is it a mixed bag? Basically I wanna know if i put up a task that it's guaranteed to be done?

Amazon has announced that new Mechanical Turk registrations will end on July 30, 2026, while existing customers can continue using the platform.
What do you think this means for MTurk?
Interested to hear everyone's opinions, especially from long-time workers and requesters.
