Started as one alter for a friend that turned into a fan favorite. Doing my best to keep them all unique! Golden acrylic paints sealed with Liquitex professional matte spray varnish - but I’m open to suggestions on a better spray varnish for foil cards to keep some shine.

First alter in a long time. Actually a redux of one I did way back when I first started. I did a horrid job of prepping the card (for some reason, I sanded off the ink), so the surface was not great for paint and markers. I also made the mistake of giving it to a friend who is no longer part of my playgroup, so I never get to see it. lol.

A few recently finished alters

Today a friend’s cat passed away and in memory of her I would like to commission her portrait as a treasure token (or another card/token if someone has a better idea). We play commander damn near every Saturday, sometimes at this friend’s house, and knowing she won’t be there will be a difficult time for us all im sure.

Hello! I'm an artist and i do all types of art and i recently started painting some cards for myself.

I love Zelda specially Skyward sword.

But i noticed some struggles while painting, i have tried acrylic paints (Ghirahim is painted that way) and acrylic markers (Zelda is painted that way).

I struggle A LOT while doing the background so i can do my sketch i have tried painting it with brush but the base is uneven.
Also with spray paint, the base is better but even if i cover with tape some places the paint gets through.

I would really appreciate any advice with the base or even while painting.
