Few snaps from my recent trip. 1400 miles over 8 days, Bristol-London-Cambridge-York-Edinburgh-Birmingham-Cornwall-Bristol.

Two of my favorite things being mashed together is immeasurably enjoyable. I do need a good camp pillow and pad if anyone has recs. Currently use a hoody for a pillow, and the foldable foam type pad, neither of which are comfortable for me. Light weight and compact are a must.

Romania - Serbia - Croatia - Montenegro - Albania - Greece - Bulgaria - Romania. 4500km in 18 days, the only real roof over my head was in Thesaloniki. Loved it to death, if you have the oportunity to moto camp, just do it. Lots of fun and good times.

Decided to give motocamping a shot after seeing the credit card bill for all the hotels I've stayed at since the beginning of the touring season. I already had the ultralight gear from backpacking, so it's kind of a natural transition. This is my shakedown trip up Palomar Mountain, California. Just wondering why I didn't do it sooner!

My unexpected surprise was how much better/more efficient I would get with packing the bags on the back 😜

So far, I've only been on weekend camping trips so it didn't matter too much.

But I'm wanting to do a 2ish week long road trip next spring or fall. I've got most of a plan lined up, where to stop, what I definitely want to see, etc. but I'm not sure how laundry and bathing would work out yet. I suppose I could make stops at a laundromat when I need to. But what about bathing? What do you guys usually do for bathing on longer trips?

Solo ride up to & camp at Twin Lakes near Glacier WA. Thought I was prepared for cold night, but fully socked in at 5,200’ proved I wasn’t 🥶.

Outside that everything was excellent:
- DRZ performed excellently
- incredible views
- fun riding
- saw some wildlife & met some neat people

Long time hiker here all about the UL mindset, and kinda experienced rider too, but in terms of motocamping the max I've been out was 4-5 days in my small ultralight 2P tent. Now I'm planning longer trips and with a different mindset: enjoying my time rather than squeezing grams off my backpack and optimizing the heck out of everything. I know I know... bear with me.

Looking at tents like the Naturehike Dune (180cm tall, 8mt2 footprint) or one of those tunnel tents like the Adhara 300 with similar specs (160cm tall, 10mt2 footprint), both about 7 Kg heavy and relatively large bags (65x25x25 cm bags). My main concern is the reliability of the tent or its weather/wind-proof... ness if that's even a word. And ofc the logistics of having to pack and unpack it almost every day. I'll probably have an extra tarp for emergencies or other uses but for sure I'll not bring a backup tent. The tent MUST NOT fail me.

What I really like about these tents is that they have a lot of extra space and a huge vestibule which makes it perfect for them cozy 0 km days, cooking and eating 'outside' (as in 'not where you sleep') or as a shelter for the motorbike itself should it be raining too much to leave it out in the elements.

The bike is a Tiger 800 Sport so not a problem there.

Hey folks :D Always loved moto-camping on my Versys, but was frustrated that I dare not take it off-tarmac in any real capacity. So I traded it in for a V-Strom 800DE and decided it was time to hit the lanes. I did a day of green laning with a friend, and have done a couple of local lanes by myself, but I wanted to give myself a challenge. So I downloaded a 100 mile ADV route of North Norfolk trails, packed my camping gear, and off I went.

If you're a beginner to adventure riding in the UK, I can recommend this route (aside from the sand, but perseverance has won bigger wars!). It was incredible fun and fantastic for building confidence.

I took my KLR650 up the coast from Florence Oregon for a few days, and made this little video of the coastal highways and seaside towns

Been rocking a mountainsmith mountain shelter lt for a few years backpacking. Decided I wanted a floor of some sort for warm weather trips with bugs.

Girlfriend got me this for Christmas last year, finally have had a chance to take it out and set it up (back injury and new child kept me busy).

Im pretty impressed for a cheap tent. Its no durston, but for us mortals its got quite good build quality.

Never even considered motocamping when I got this, but with a recent addition of a ktm adventure in my life, its gonna pull double duty.

Anyone else running a trekking pole tent from a bike? Alot of my motocamping will include hiking, so im not upset needing to have a pair of poles with me.

my ktm has a race seat from fiberglass. i am planning a trip with my gf so shell be on the back which leaves me 2 options in terms of storage: on her back in a backpack
or on the side of the bike.
i already own 2 very large saddlebags that are made to hang on the side, however i don’t know if that’ll be possible on this bike without them destroying the turn signals.
any advice?

PS: Comfort or ergonomics aren’t important. the trip is only 2h of driving since we’re going to take the bike with us on a trailer to south france and go from there.
