I recently came across some information about this monument in Mongolia. I read that one side is dedicated to the Mongol Khanate, another to the Hun Empire, and another to the Turkic Khaganate.

First of all, is this information actually correct? If it is, why are the Hun Empire and the Turkic Khaganate included on the monument? What is the historical reason behind their presence?

Also, what do Mongolians generally think about the Turks and about the Hun Empire, which many Turks regard as one of their ancestral states? I'm curious about the Mongolian perspective on this.

A Mongolian friend once saw me reading Baabar's Almanac: History of Mongolia and commented that Baabar isn't a good source. But didnt elaborate at all. After a few pages, I started to see why. he casually repeated some age old ridiculous racial theories and made a few old-fashioned remarks and not in a critical way. That made me question how good of an academic he is.

I looked him up but couldn't find much about his academic background or whether he has a PhD (i tought he was a historian?) That said, I do like the book. It's accessible, full of photos, and covers a huge period in relatively few pages, so I don't expect detailed historiographical debates. I also know he worked with purge-era archives, which must be a genuinely valuable contribution.

So I'm wondering: how is Baabar regarded by hi in Mongolia especially in academic circles and those who are into history? Why is he so influential?

Also, what would you recommend instead? About 19th 20th century

I am the driver, but she signed the contract.

I hit another car on the road, where there was no phone connection.

Completely my fault.

The other driver threatened my girlfriend and insulted her. He basically forced her to give him her ID.

I didnt realize when the accident happened, that she handed him her ID.

Now he ist texting and calling her and wants money.

Im saying he needs to go to the police and file a report, otherwiese our insurance wont pay.

I told her to block him and I texted him.

Because I am the driver, its my responsibility and he has to talk to me, via WhatsApp and I can translate mongolian via my gf or chatgpt.

I texted him, but he keeps spamming my gf.

Hi, I am an incoming freshman at a university in Hungary. I'm a very ambitious person w decent accomplishments (IELTS 8, SAT 1450, several olympiad medals, decent extracurriculars, 4 GPA, good cambridge exam grades etc) and aimed for USA unis this year, but it didn't go as planned. So I just went for the scholarship in Hungary since I am not financially well off. And, of course, I am not that fully satisfied with where I am going, felt like I deserved better at some point, or take a gap year. But I've made peace with it.

Is there anyone who graduated uni in Hungary and is currently employed? How was it studying there and do you think you can find great opportunities during your study and post-graduate and find good jobs? Just how was Hungary in general, would you say it was worth it? I'm studying engineering.

Okay hear me out. I've asked several people in my class who are openly homophobic why they oppose same-sex relationships being accepted in society. I've noticed is that their answers rarely focus on the relationship itself. Instead, they often say things like, "They should act like a man," "It's gross," or "It's too girly." Many people seem to associate gay men with wearing makeup, acting feminine, or rejecting traditional masculine gender roles, even though plenty of gay men are masculine and plenty of straight men are feminine. Another thing I've noticed is that many of these people (even homophobic girls) are much more accepting of lesbian girls than of gay men. I feel like this society often judges men more harshly for expressing femininity than it judges women for expressing masculinity. Am i wrong to think that homophobia is same as mysogyny? Make a list of Mongolian males and Western female celebrities (actress, singers, politician, Pagents, royalty?) the more famous/ the higher status the better. If you have to, you can include Buryats, Kamlyks, Inner Mongolians or even those half Mongolian looking Hazara.
