Image MW4 characters IRL
The 3 guys in the front look and dressed up so much like the characters in the trailer.

Sliding has been the dominant mechanic for all close-quarters engagements for a long ass time, and it's become obnoxious, especially in modern, boots on the ground, COD titles. The map floor is not ice or baby oil. I am a fan of futuristic, advanced movement COD's, so it's not a "skill issue". Many of us just PREFER those mechanics not be in a modern-day, boots on the ground, Modern Warfare game.
Having a Classic mode is a win for both fans of cracked movement and classic movement. And it's a nice alternative for when the game starts to get stale.
Edit: For all the people in the comments still saying "skill issue". I have zero issue sliding around like a cartoon character. I, and many others, are just over it. It's gotten old. It's cheesy.
Edit 2: I'd also be happy with them toning the slide down to where it's no longer the only mechanic used during close-quarters engagements.
Edit 3: The first 9 entries of Call of Duty had no slide mechanic. I, and a crap ton of others, think the best Call of Duty games are in that group of 9. We just want to be able to enjoy the new games like we used to. Keep the cracked movement and throw us a bone with a Classic mode.

What do you think about MW4? About campaign, multiplayer, warzone, dmz?

Looking for videos of Gameplay that doesn't have a streamer shouting over the Audio, only thing I can find is the teaser footage they showed us.

And on the topic of ammo mods, would you like to see rapid fire or recoil springs again or something similar?

All the trailers and previews made it look like movement was finally being toned down. Less tactical sprint, less sliding, more tactical gameplay. Honestly, it looked great.
Then you watch actual gameplay from creators who already played it...
And it’s just another movement sweatfest. People flying around corners, sliding everywhere, and turning every gunfight into a competition of who can abuse movement mechanics the most.
The marketing shows a slower, more tactical CoD, but the actual game looks like another ADHD movement simulator.

Hello everyone since the relaunch of B02 on the PS5 it’s sparked my interest on mw4 and wanting to play competitive as I used too on previous cods I had not played competitively since Advanced warfare (Top 30 in the world in S&D) and a little bit on MW19 before I pre order the new MW4 on my PS5 I wanted to know if I would be better off ordering the game on PC if I want to play to the fullest potential? I currently have a PC and was thinking on upgrading my entire set up what I be good to buy MW4 on my PS5 or would it better to buy it on PC and use controller? Any advice would be awesome thank you all who read this.

I haven’t heard much discussion about this new feature in the game. I’m not even sure if it’s true. My understating is that it is a limit being put on overly spammy movement. Slide cancelling and bunny hopping is in, but if it’s chained together too much at once, exhaustion kicks in and you are limited to normal movement for a certain amount of time.
This seems to me to be a pretty good compromise for both sides.

I preordered on steam but currently play BO7 on game pass. Will I be able to work toward the serialized camo tomorrow? Will my pre-order status sync??

For years, I’ve noticed that the COD community has had completely different opinions on almost every game since MW19, and I’m honestly confused. What do people actually want anymore? Okay I totally get people for BO7 and many have valid reasons but what is wrong with MW4????
Every time I open the comments on MW4 gameplay videos, I see comments like:
“It’s just MW19 again.”
“This is basically MW2.”
“MW3 but with DLC.”
“Copy of Battlefield 6.”
“No improvements.”
I am actually liking what I’ve seen from MW4 so far, but it feels like people will never be satisfied no matter how the game is made. There is way too much complains nowadays that nobody can even enjoy any game anymore.
I personally bought MW2019 like a year ago because of “positive reviews” and I never intended to buy MW2 or MW3 because of too many bad reviews and complains. I bought MW2 like 10 days ago AND HOLY SHIT IT IS SO FCKING GOOD! Aint no way i almost ignored this game only because of bad reviews and no appreciation from people…. After that, I went to MW3 and it was even BETTER. And that was a good thing I have learned and noticed that people just see 1 clip or open game for some minutes to play just to say “yup, it is unplayable and dogshit game”.

Honestly not a big fan of Ghost’s MP. But, I thought Strike zone was a pretty banger map.

I’ve never been a fan of Operators, they functionally serve the same purpose as Specialists but they lack the unique abilities that gets you interested in the characters. CoD to me has always been more about playing as this generic, one man army type. Playing as Price, Ghost, Soap, Gaz, and even Laswell are cool and all but I don’t really care for them in Multiplayer. In recent years I usually pick the first Op I think looks cool and leave them selected for the rest of the year. I know the difference between map specific factions and unique characters is insignificant in terms of gameplay, I just miss the interconnected story between modes.
In BO2 for example, you see the Seals, Mercs, Militia, and SDC prominently throughout the campaign. The FBI shows up in a mission or two and I think it’s cool having the ISA as a multiplayer only faction because they’re essentially spies who operate outside of country gathering info for the Seals. Seeing these different groups interact with each other and have actual reasons why we’re on certain maps is just something I miss from the older games that isn’t represented anymore. I’d be fine with having a Default Operator for each map specific faction that is automatically assigned if it were an option but it isn’t.
It doesn’t exactly excite me knowing Factions are basically non existent in MW4 like they were in Vanguard.

Watching the recent clips of MW4 has me a little disappointed that we are going to have another year of everyone constantly sliding around the map, like it's an ice rink, because it's the main movement that gives an advantage.
Having a Classic movement mode as an alternative way to play, just like Fortnite has a Zero Build mode, makes sense. There are enough players to justify an alternative mode that removes tac sprint and sliding. It also gives players an alternative way to play when the game starts getting stale.
Edit: I am referring to a Classic style mode in regard to movement. Not a mode that's limited to only classic maps, perks, and attachments.
Edit 2: I don't need to play the game to know that sliding is going to be a huge part of the gameplay. It's already available to see on YouTube. If slide is the best way to gain an advantage, everyone is going to be doing it, just like they have in all modern COD games.
The success of the recent BO1/BO2 ports on PlayStation prove there is still a large community that enjoys a more classic COD experience.

Detection should never rely on a single method. Layer that shit like an ONION.
RICOCHET should detect XIM, Cronus, external hardware, DMA cheats, suspicious aim behavior, impossible consistency, movement anomalies, and long term behavioral changes. The more independent systems working together, the harder it becomes to bypass.
Give us access to extended viewable post match deathcams where players can submit suspicious clips directly to RICOCHET in game. Thousands of players reviewing suspicious gameplay become a valuable detection resource. Set number of reports post game should prioritize accounts for deeper review.
Strengthen account security with hidden trust scores and seasonal multi factor reauthentication. Make it increasingly difficult to recycle accounts, rotate hardware, or repeatedly return after RICOCHET enforcement. Legacy players should build trust over time while new/suspicious accounts are strict (mandatory 6 months).
Add a mandatory weekly firing range calibration (during weekly playlist refresh) similar to an aimlabs instance where aim assist is disabled and player performance is algorithmically profiled. This establishes a baseline for every account. During live matches, RICOCHET could compare player input, aiming behavior, tracking, recoil compensation, and expected aim assist interaction against that baseline. If a player suddenly jumps from average performance to near perfect tracking or impossible precision, it becomes another signal; alongside behavioral analytics, hardware detection, and community reports.
Sudden spikes in accuracy, headshot percentage, reaction time, recoil control, or tracking consistency should increase review priority.
No anti cheat will ever eliminate cheating entirely. Simply make cheating miserable.
What are some more ideas?

Is there something I’m missing? If the timelines are shared and Black Ops 2 is canon then by 2025 we have some pretty crazy technology. Is this technology exclusive to the Black Ops which could explain why in 2026 we aren’t yet seeing it deployed in general military divisions. I highly doubt they will diverge from MW games having grounded technology based on the current year.

Which will it be?
In my opinion I feel like an objective round based game mode would be best. Similar to csgo or valorant. Where working as a team is key. Ranked of course with it.
Rewards for reaching ranks.
I do love that the weapons take skill to use. Plus being able to use different builds Is smart.
Game mode is key for this game. But I do think objective round based would be best. Make sure that you can shine with how you are able to manipulate your weapons and utility and you can have a decent fan base.

I will definitely be playing the wait and see game until I know what the matchmaking is going to look like. I have heard that there are no plans to go back to MW2019 matchmaking, which is great, but I still want to know what it's going to look like before I consider buying the game. I really like the matchmaking in B07, which includes non-disbanding lobbies, but I assume they are not going to continue with the same matchmaking, unfortunately.
