Sculpting professionals, i have a question.

How do you create limbs using wire as the skeleton? I plan on making vines, limbs that look like tree bark, and other natural looking pieces for a tree corrupted warhammer army. Do you weave thin wire to make the width and fingers of a limb and fill the frame, or do you use a thicker piece of wire and sculpt everything around it? Im not making an entire miniature out if green stuff. Im just replacing certain parts of an already built one. Im sorry if I made the question hard to understand.
