Found this yesterday at the bins. Snatched it up real quick. Want to restore it and give to my son. What's the best way to restore the face of it? I plan on upgrading the battery pack in the back and adding new components. Thanks!

Found this drinks cabinet going for free on my local Gumtree! Needs a bit of sanding and oiling but otherwise in fantastic condition. Still not sure how I got it in my car.

Preliminary searches indicate it is a piece from the Portwood company but I am happy to be corrected!

Apologies if this is not the right sub for this! We purchased our home (built in 1964, iirc) back in November. Since then we’ve been working on some renovation projects but are trying to keep the original/vintage pieces where we can, and are mostly trying to stay true to the era. We recently had our basement bathroom demoed, but we were clear we wanted to keep the fun vanity light and wallpaper. We’re replacing the cabinet, mirror, tile, and toilet. Unfortunately, the contractors let us know that the light was broken during demo (and I am heartbroken about it). 😭

I’ve tried looking on Etsy, chairish, and eBay- I’ve found some things that are similar but not exactly the same. I really liked the yellow/orange/brown color scheme, so much that we’ve been planning on adding more of it to the bathroom throughout (we bought an orange toilet, our floor tile is an orange and brown terrazzo, and we’re having a vanity countertop that’s made with yellow tile).

Does anyone know anything about this type of light or have any other ideas for where I could look to replace it? Is it even MCM (it looks 70’s-ish to me)? I’m planning on hitting up some antique stores this weekend, but anytime I’m looking for something specific in-person I can never find it. 😅

Almost everything at this estate sale was priced way above market, but these two silver-plated Danish candelabras weren’t marked. I asked, and they let both go for $10.

After getting home, I found the hallmark:

DRAGSTED • DENMARK • SILVERPLATE

From what I’ve found, they’re authentic mid-century Danish modern candelabras from the 1950s–60s.

… at a local vintage store and I’m so excited! I’ve wanted a swag lamp for a while and this one is beautiful. Had to share with others who would appreciate it!

I bought this beautiful heavy piece at an auction but there was not a lot of info .. any help would be great. It is solid walnut . And has pigeon holes in the entire cabinet, no shelves . I’m sure that would be an easy fix though . I’m not sure if it had legs or needs them but it is a nice piece. I have the auction pics and then the AI pics that look very close. Hello, I’ve explored all available sources and can’t seem to find this couch on any of them. It’s quite nice, genuine leather and beautifully made. I can’t find any stamps under the sofa, cushions, or inside the zippers. Anyone have any thoughts? I would greatly appreciate it, thank you!

I purchased this bench off marketplace, not even expecting it to be a Merton Gershun - fully thought it was just a dupe. I've had it for 6 months and just now turned it upside down to condition the underside. I was completely shocked to see the X inlay molds underneath because the top doesn't have them. Does anyone know why this could be true? I've attached pictures.

I was going through photos from one of my trips to Sydney and found the photos from the Rose Seidler House I wanted to share. I did a search of this subreddit and didn't find anything about this treasure. Here is some history of the home:

This is a piece I inherited from a family member who bought it new in the 50s.

I do not believe it to be a Noguchi based both on the kidney shape instead of the triangle, but also because that family member was too cheap to have purchased a real designer piece.

Have never successfully found one with google image search.

Does anyone have any knowledge about vintage Heath Ceramic stackable mugs? I believe these are from the rim line, either 60s or 70s? They’re stamped as 205 and either have a K or R ceramicist stamp on the bottom. Curious what official colors these are and which years they were produced… I cannot find any details on this blue but the brown/red may be Mojave glaze. Thanks!

Very cool house. The green shag carpeting is great. I think they could have done a better job of vacuuming the carpet before taking photos, but what an amazing house! They could also use some help with the lawn.

Møbelfabrikken Toften tiled table. Needed a good clean and will need another polish but it's coming up lovely.

I have 6 x J39 chairs - Marked 61 11 3 ... I'm assuming oak. I'm thinking 3 are 'original' as in with original woven seat that is good nick - 3 need to be rewoven. I think to maintain them as a set - they all should be rewoven. I did have a friend suggest I should just do the three in need ... but it seems to me they should all get done ... thoughts?

I need to clean them all up - not sure if they are soap finish or light oil? Do I use just water; some sort of soap? I do have some Murphy's Wood Wash - but is there a bad vibe on using this. Any suggestions on a product or whatever appreciated. Really trying to maintain as are - they seem good - and would like the 'finish' to be as close to what they might have been.

Can someone advise on the correct paper cord? 3 ply/natural - good suppliers?

I believe I have a competent helper on the weave front ...

Any thoughts / tips / warnings etc appreciated - or maybe good online sources?

Walked right past this chair the first time in the thrift store yesterday because the fabric was so ugly lol. Second walk-around I was like… wait a second, look at that nice frame, let’s check the bottom for tags?

And sure enough, it’s a tagged 1963 Paoli rocker in original upholstery. It’s so dusty and dingy, my plan is to reupholster it myself. I’m thinking perhaps a tweedy turquoise?

I’d add a video of it bouncing merrily (there are two large springs on the bottom that it rocks on), but honestly I can’t figure out how to add a video lol
