Question This normal for a service A?
First time taking my 2019 glc300 in for service A in the New Orleans metro area. There is a shop I regularly drive by and I thought “oh I’ll just take it here, it’ll be cheaper than the dealership and I can support the local business”. Called after drop off and quoted $273 with a new remote battery, told them I didn’t need the battery I would do that myself, new quote $265. Went to pickup the car $500….

2014 E350 as first car
I’m 19 and considering a 2014 Mercedes E350 4MATIC with about 140k km (or about 85k miles) for $13,000 CAD.
It has the AMG appearance package, a custom exhaust, two sets of wheels. I’d pay cash, keep at least $4-5k aside for repairs and probably own it for 1-3 years. I don’t really need a car since I can bus or get rides, but I want the freedom and genuinely like the car. There’s also a chance I could leave Canada for a 12+ month U.S. internship next summer (might resell it)
Is it an alright financial decision? Is $13k reasonable? What commonly fails around this mileage, and what maintenance should already have been completed? Anything else I should know?

Question W213 suspension creak over speed bumps?
2023 E350 4Matic 34k miles. Have had it since brand new.
Noticed in the spring time that the suspension started to have a mild low-pitched "creak" noise when going over speed bumps that has since now worsened. It sounds like it is coming from the front of the vehicle around/under the engine, which my guess would be related to the suspension?
It seems that it usually happens on rebound from large speed bumps / dips.
I know I'm still under warranty, but I'm worried that the dealer won't find anything wrong with it, or would even possibly say that there is a worn/broken part considered "normal wear-and-tear" and it wouldn't be covered.
Anyone have any ideas what it could be or things to look out for? Is this a common issue? I know I've seen a common W205/W213 issue being creaking with steering, but unsure if that also relates to the suspension? TYIA.

Question 2014 Mercedes E350 Wagon (W212) – Intermittent battery drain/no-start
I'm looking for some advice or to see if anyone has experienced something similar with a W212.
I have a 2014 Mercedes Benz E350 wagon. Over the past few months, I have had the same issue happen three times.
Here is what happens:
- The car has been parked (usually overnight or longer).
- When I press the start button, I only hear a single click.
- The dashboard eventually loses power/goes black.
- The car won't start until it is jump started.
- Once it's jump started, it runs completely normally.
The first time the dealer diagnosed the issue as a failing electrical unit in the front driver's door panel and replaced it. They believed that was causing the battery drain.
Unfortunately, the exact same problem happened again, and now it's happened for a third time.
This time, I recorded videos of the failure before the car was taken to the dealership. They kept the car, jump started it, and initially couldn't reproduce the problem because once power was restored, everything appeared normal.
After further diagnosis, they are now saying the engine control unit is keeping circuit 87 awake after the vehicle is turned off. Their recommendation is to replace the ECU, then retest to see if any other control units are still staying awake.
I'm trying to make sure we are replacing the correct part before spending.
I'm not a mechanic, so I'm hoping to get some opinions from people who know these cars better than I do.
Thanks in advance for any advice.

Cls450 Mercedes steering wheel malfunction
I was driving back home this afternoon and my steering wheel completely disengaged. I was glad I had turned towards my neighborhood, but I had to stop in the middle of the road… it created an extremely dangerous driving situation. I was shocked because I lost normal steering control.
Has anyone else experienced anything similar? I have a 2019 Mercedes CLS450.
The steering can freely rotate even when the engine is off.

Question W212 Headlight help
Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification
Not sure if this is the right place for this or not, but I'm trying anyways so, here goes.
2014 W212 post facelift with the factory LEDs. Currently the drivers/left whole headlight assembly is just dead (no high/low beam, turn signal, DRL). Passenger/right works as intended, but for some reason, when the blinker turns on it gives the "check right turn signal" message on the cluster (despite all 3 right blinkers working correctly).
Not sure if it's related or not, but fuse 75 in the trunk blows a 20A fuse almost immediately when replaced.
Any and all help would be appreciated before I rip the front bumper off this thing and start hoping for the best.

Question Mercedes Service – incorrect tire pressure
Does anyone else notice their Mercedes coming out of service with incorrect tire pressures?
It seems that every time I get my Mercedes serviced, they even out my tire pressure. Normally, I’d be grateful, except they put them all at 40 psi, which is what my fronts should be, but my rears are supposed to be 47. I am blaming Mercedes Service, but I’m not actually sure. I actually don’t notice it – my wife will complain about the rough ride at some point and then I’ll check and notice the tire pressure is low. So it is certainly possible that it is just a coincidence. Have any of you had this experience?
While on the subject of tire pressure, my 2020 Mercedes C 300 has the normal sticker in the door jam that gives the tire pressures, but there’s also a sticker near my gas cap with slightly different tire pressures. I’ve been going by the sticker on the door jam since that’s what I’m used to, but it’s just strange.

ISO Enthusiasts in Central Florida
Hey everyone 👋
I'm just looking for other Enthusiast owners in Central Florida, ideally in and around Ocala/Marion county to socialize with.
For reference, I'm a 34yo man with a 2019 E450 Coupe. My first Mercedes.
I adore her, and I'd love to find other owners to cruise with.
