Since i was a kid i would build inner worlds from my memory of experiences, and sometimes i would associate something unrelated into that inner world and i still remember them, it’s not very developed but i’m curious, i would also replay them in my head over and over again, i replay other things in my head aswell continuously only if it’s something i truly care about

what's the best advice you guys could give here

So I just started almost a week now, and I'm having trouble organizing each information to make it easily retrievable. I'm trying to memorize (not fully) a textbook, and the way the information is stored is a bit of a mess because I relied on the chapter's series of topics, (example, T1 then T2 then T3 then T3.1 then T3.2) it's kinda like this and I want to get a useful topic immediately without going into the first parts that aren't related to what I want to retrieve.

How do you organize your topics? Do you make another room? Like walking on a road, entering a house then leaving for another house? Do you get the idea??? Sorry my English isn't strong..

So i need a solution for my problem which is i couldnt find a training method for using memory palace and actually being “good” at using it like much faster and much detailed and more likely to remember the info. If u have smth like a training method that helped u or u just heard about it then type it down below with simple explanation and with (an example if u have)

I am trying to learn plants, trees and mushrooms. So I would like to memorize the characteristics of different species. So for example for a tree, I would like to group together its characteristics, like leaves, bark etc. But I need it to be associated with that tree in particular. Is there any way of achieving this in a memory palace? I thought that maybe each object could have its own room, but my memory palace does not have that many rooms.

Guys I am starting the memory palace technique from today for the first time , I have 500 pages of facts that I need to mug up in a week , can you all advice me how can I quickly get into it .

Also should I be drawing a palace on my personal notes side by side for quick revision or shall I mark the locations on the textbook itself on its margins and revise from there ?

I mean, link method Is useful and that's straightforward. But what about this? It should Just help remembering the order of the concept but not them?

For example, suppose I put entire chapters of a book in a memory palace. For each locus I put a story made by link method. Then I know what comes First and After but the method tells me nothing about the concepts in the loci

1-its so simple just go to Pinterest and type : home plans and then find some homes that has rooms and objects inside of them and then SAVE the picture in your profile . 2- after you saved a home plans and the most important thing that it has some objects inside of it you can have suggestions after you press on it back then you can see many other pics of home plans with the same idea ^~^ 3- it doesnt have to be realstic home plans , it can be digital made and some ppl drew it like the palace i found on my page :

I've experimented with multiple formats and dynamics of memory palaces and techniques. A few points to discuss:

1. My biggest attempt so far has been my World of Knowledge which I'm building (rather half assedly) as a Misogi for the year (bastardized concept from Shinto popularized by Jesse Itzler, basically a year long project to mark each year of life with). This has been developing progressively, though really so far it's been more helpful for my geography knowledge than encoded knowledge. I started with alphabet peg memory towns (and movies where necessary) and started filling them with keywords that encapsulate concepts from my morning pages reviews weeks after completing them (in this way, I'm not just encoding every idea I arrive at in my morning pages, but being more selective). I originally intended on storing authors and points from their books in their birth places. Also looking at storing points from lectures from my Guru given in cities around the world in those cities. Both of these aspects haven't come along yet because of the delay in my regular learning functions they impose. Would love to hear anyone's thoughts.

1. For some time, I was working in the same cafe most days and started encoding powerful spiritual ideas onto the various regular customers and passer-bys I saw.

1. One cool thing I did that I've really benefited from is encoding a series of layered images onto my own person. I have 26 ideas encoded (mostly in acronym symbolic images) and stored in my hands and different body locations. Those points are all attention guides so I return to them frequently to keep myself looking in the right directions.

I can use the technique, I’ve done school, home,
Work. A few maps on video games. But I’m cooked now…

When I was younger I used the major system with the memory palace technique to memorise a few hundred digits of pi, so I know this technique really works, but I never really made it past this point. I wanted to use it for studying in school but I could never figure out how to use it beyond just numbers. So I ended up quitting.

Most of the information that I find is all over the place or incomplete, it gives you some vague ideas and then leaves you on your own to figure it all out by yourself. Are there any properly structured 'no-bullshit' courses on this technique or even a book that cover everything in detail?

The problem is memory palaces are nor only good for me cause they allow me to remember more in more detail but also they allow me to organise the information better. My bigest problem before using them was that a lot of cocenpcts were melting in together. However using physical space to organise that informatioj really helped me with that. Is that a way to use those things together without spending too much time doint those?

It's like 3 years that on and off I memorize things with the memory palace, the major system for numbers and the link method. I'm not interested in becoming a memory athlete but I like memorize useful information. But I usually I review like 200 pi digits, and the entire periodic table maybe phone numbers but after that I don't know what to memorize anymore it become boring and I give up for months, after that I review those things again and this cycle has repeated for the last 3 years. Some recommendations?

I consider that memory palace are criminally underrated compared to their usefulness, the fact that they're fun to use, the potential to elevate one's mind, their academic credibility, the fact that intellectual sports have recently risen to fame with great success (mainly thinking about chess).

What would you do to improve their popularity ?
