I just received my bill for the fall semester but saw housing isn't on there.
I received an email confirming my application a while ago so will it just be billed separately after I receive a housing assignment?

Me and my brother were about to go into the fall semester and we were interested in seeing what they looked like

Is the Monroe card swipe for RTS Bus access not working for anyone else? It keeps saying "card not valid" or something like that, and when I tell the Bus driver that the systems not working and if someone told them (because I heard from someone that asked, all RTS Bus drivers were instructed to let Monroe student on the bus), they look at me like im crazy.

I’m planning to go to MCC and have been thinking about trying to start a rugby club. Just posting to see if there’s any interest from current or incoming students.
If you don’t know rugby, it’s kind of a mix of football and soccer. It’s continuous play, a lot of running, passing, and some contact, but really team oriented.
No experience needed at all. If you played football, soccer, or any sport in high school, you’d probably enjoy it.
If that sounds like something you’d be interested in, comment or message me.

It's been a few years since I've been to college, but I'm starting up again in the fall. I registered for College Composition, Intro to Literature, and Intro to Ethics. I generally like writing, but now I'm starting to wonder if it'll be too many reading/writing projects at once. For those who have taken one or all of these, what do you think? Am I overthinking?

My partner and I moved into a home a year and a half ago but brought what we had with us without any editing or cohesive design. I’m ready for that to change but don’t need “full service.”
I know MCC has an interior design program. Are there any talented students that would want to work on a small project (furnishings and layout for two connected living areas)? Possible for additional rooms if all goes well.
Happy to discuss more what I’m thinking as well as pricing!

Salutations all! I am currently enrolling participants for my dissertation research, which focuses on the impact of coping behavior on academic success in this population. Due to respecting community guidelines, I cannot post my IRB-approved flyer. However, if you are qualified and interested in the study, please send me a message.
Thank you for your time!

I’m planning on taking Calculus II over the summer at MCC, and the course is going to be asynchronous(in person tests, online classes) and about 9.5 weeks long with Steven Kilner. I know Calc II is already considered a pretty tough class, and with it being condensed into a shorter summer term I’m expecting it to move pretty fast.
I was wondering if anyone here has taken Calc II at MCC before, especially in the summer or in an asynchronous format, and could share what the experience was like. I’d appreciate any advice on how manageable the workload is, what topics tend to be the hardest, and anything you wish you had done to prepare beforehand. Just trying to set myself up as best as possible before the class starts.

Hey MCC fam 👋
The Monroe Maverick (the new independent student newspaper on campus) is rebuilding and looking for motivated students to join the team this spring!
We’re covering real campus stories, SGA decisions, student life, events, investigations, opinions, and more – basically anything that matters to MCC students.
Right now we especially need:
• Writers / Journalists (news, features, opinion pieces, investigative reporting)
• Photographers (event coverage, portraits, campus candids)
• Editors (copy editing, fact-checking, section leads)
• Researchers / Fact-checkers
• Graphic designers (for layouts, infographics, social media visuals)
• Social media managers / content creators (to help grow our reach)
No prior experience required – if you’re passionate, reliable, and want to build your portfolio/resume, we want you. This is a great way to get published, network, develop skills, and have your voice heard on campus.
We’re student-run and independent, so you’ll have creative freedom and real impact.
Interested?
Drop a comment below, DM me, or email [email protected] with:
• Your name/year/major
• Which role(s) interest you
• A quick line about why you want to join (or any relevant experience)
Someone from our team will get back to you ASAP to set up an informal chat to discuss further and answer any questions you might have.
Let’s build something great together – the Maverick needs YOU! 📰✨
Feel free to boost/share this post.

I have accommodations to allow me to use a laptop for note taking in classes. One of my professors (sociology) has a no laptop policy because she believes they are distraction even if everyone has one for note taking and cited that handwriting notes builds memory. I have my accomedations due to poor handwriting and dyslexia. I talked to her after class and she said even if I have my note taking accommodations she won’t allow typed up notes that are printed out for an open notes test and that maybe if I spend extra time at home rewriting everything by hand it will be legible.

I took A&P1 last semester and am taking A&P 2 this semester. I’m taking pre nursing prerequisites.
have any of you taken any of the following and can share what the class was like?
trying to decide which should I take this semester with A&P 2?
microbio (professor seems great, intense combo with AP2)
soc 101 (seems easy, might be able to CLEP, I would take online)
heg 215 - global health and culture, would take online, accidentally signed up for one that starts late
any advice?

This might sound weird but how do I approach/ maybe he’s on here. I’m 99% sure I crossed path with another student today who looked exactly like someone I was best friends with as a kid. But I’m not sure if it’s him or not and didn’t want to approach him and sound weird. Anyway, if Sammy V from Cali somehow made his way to MCC I miss ya kid
