Why didnt the Leviathans consider that the catalyst would consider them and their creation of AI as a problem as well? If they’re such a brilliant apex species, wouldn’t they consider putting in a few lines of code like “if species = Leviathan do not exterminate” lol?

The stuttering sound Geth make isn't speech. It's just the noise they make when transferring data packets to each other. It's impossible for David to be able to do that. Speech doesn't suddenly become a data packet like that. He would have to say an enormous string of 1s and 0s absurdly fast. I feel like this goes against their own lore they've established.

Do you think James would have been a more beloved character if he had been given more screen time and introduced in the first game—or at the very latest, the second?

I’ve stated in previous post that I am a Novice in the Mass Effect world. Put it off for decades because for some reason it just didn’t pull me in when watching videos. Legendary edition was $5 so I had no more excuses lol. Loved it and I hate myself for waiting this long. Here are my own rating/review of the game as a casual gamer.

1. Mass Effect 1: 8/10
   - Once I landed on Eden Prime I knew I made a mistake not playing this game. It already felt like it was going to be huge and with the updated graphics it looked very good. Even the combat, while dated, was fun enough to play. A very fun game and intro that is really only held back by it being clearly dated. Reminds me of when I replayed Oblivion (not remastered) a few years ago and thought this games a 10/10 in 2006, but today it’s a little rough. Very simplistic gun play and the world exploring (while impressively big for the time) was very hollow.

2. Mass Effect 2: 9/10
   - Other than being utterly confused as to what was going on in the opening like 3 hours, this game immediately improved on everything gameplay wise for me. And not only that, but true world building and exploring. The assemble a team aspect of this game really opened up all the other species, planets, and history of the world. I genuinely found everything about this game to be a blast. Only reason it’s not a 10/10 to me is retrospective. This game really does feel like a filler episode to me now that I’ve completed the series. 1 & 3 are truly aligned, but 2 almost feels like a fever dream once you start playing 3. Like “oh Shepard retired from Cerberus and is back with the alliance and all those teammates are gone and most won’t come back.” Absolute blast though

3. Mass Effect 3: 8.5/10
   - This game was an 8 for me for the first 20~ hours. It was so confusing flipping back to the Alliance and not having the team I assembled just a game earlier. The fighting “improved” but to me became too “Gears of War” style and combat felt really easy. I barely died in this game. They also took away ALOT of things that I loved with 2. Also there was legit a 15 hours worth of DLC I accidentally played in a row that had me stop and forget what I was even doing in the main mission?! That being said it is undeniably MASSIVE. A blockbuster if there ever was one and once we got into the last 15~ hours of the main story it was go time. Frankly I don’t understand the gripe with the ending. I beat it last night and was sitting there wondering if I picked the right choice for an hour and flipped in my mind like 10 times. I chose Destroy. I get none of the choices you made during the game really matter to the final decision, but it worked for me. Maybe I’m simple. Overall the game was a lot of fun once it kicked off and the third act is some of the biggest I’ve played

Overall: I loved the series and am an idiot for waiting this long. It does bug me that every game kind of felt like a soft reboot? Like the continuity of the 3 games was pretty sloppy for me. Most of the time playing 3 I would just catch myself wondering what even was 2 about?? I loved the RPG-ness of the game and even though as it went on it became less RPG and more action game (as is the trend anymore), I still found a lot of joy in the decision and actually had to think before choosing unlike most games where they give you a choice but there’s no real choice at all unless you’re playing evil. I know my rating will tick some people off (it seems like if you ask 3 mass effect fans to rank the games you get 3 answers), but I truly loved the game.

I romanced Kaidan in ME1 and I’m planning to continue his romance in ME3.

My question is: at what point does ME2 actually consider you to have “locked in” another romance?

I’ve been flirting with Garrus, but we haven’t had the romance scene yet. They’ve only talked about getting together, and I still have the option to tell him I’d rather just be friends.

If I choose that option and finish ME2 without locking in Garrus’ romance, will Kaidan still act like Shepard cheated in ME3? Or does the cheating dialogue only happen if you actually complete another romance?

Basically, if you flirt with someone but end the game without a locked romance, is Shepard considered single going into ME3? I really want to avoid the cheating dialogue, and I’m worried I’ve already gone too far with Garrus.

Decided to replay the game from scratch after years, and because I'm a completionist I immediately went on to explore every planet possible before even doing the first of the Big Three story missions. Ended up just... stumbling upon the place where Wrex needs to get his armor back, and idk how to feel about that honestly. All the previous times I played I somehow got the quest properly, by talking to Wrex between missions until he asked for assistance himself, as a show of trust, but this way it's just... so lacking that I'm half tempted to load an old save to avoid it, the only thing stopping me is that the last old save is VERY old. I don't want to accidentally do the same with other companion quests (and what even happens if you do not have the specific companion in the party tbh??), so are there any other companion quests you can randomly activate just by exploring?

It feels 4 hours longer than 2 and 3 yet feels the most like a. RPG

I found the game to be completely unplayable without mods, predictably. I got 10 hours in and decided one of my mods was OP, so deleted it and loaded up a similar, less powerful mod (specifically, more skill points). Wasn't sure how that would affect an ongoing playthrough and I wasn't THAT far in, so decided to start over fresh. Now, whenever I try to land on Eos for the first time, the game exits without warning, no error log, nothing, right at the tail end of the landing cutscene.

Any insight? Is the extra skill points mod breaking my game? It's the only thing I've changed.

It's been a while since I've done a run through and have just gotten past the coup. So far the only DLC I've done is Javik and I've been thinking about the others and can't make sense where they should fit in.

I've always done citadel as the final mission before hq and always will (want maximum number of crew at party and based on when it first came out this always felt right). Omega and Levitihan alwYs felt harder to work our where they fit in.

What are people's thoughts on the right place in the story for each. I'm half thinking omega right now as I'm pissed off at cerberus and want to take revenge for the coup. However have absolutely no clue on the other

I am finishing ME legendary edition 100% run, tried to make an Atlas hijack achievement. Fight was still on, enemies were running. Tried to enter with standard action button but the circle was turning green and nothing was happening. There was electric current visible on Atlas mech but couldn't get it. Am I doing something bad or just a bug?

I stripped a shield and kept shooting at pilot until glass shattered and he died.

I played with guns in mass effect 1 and currently doing biotics in me2, can you guys recommend something fun and different for when I reach 3, or is it better to do a class I already did

Adept is pretty lame in ME2. I almost considered changing to soldier based on spending most of ME2 using an assault rifle.

I've been wondering: if the Reapers won and the galaxy followed another cycle, what race or races would be the most likely to evolve and take over the Galaxy after Asari, Human, Salarian and so on are gone?

I did a quick google search and seems like no one else is having this issue with the LE yet i am. the only thing stopping me from charging across the battlefield one by one knocking all the baddies out is that my charge bugs all the damn time.

is there a minimum distance? My shepard NEVER charges when the target is close enough for a melee yet when i google there is no min distance i can charge it seems?

min distance aside, like 30% of the times i try to charge across , i press the hotkey or via tactical pause, my shep doesnt charge too. so annoying.

Anyone having this issue? I have -80% recovery time yet this is not the problem. i can clearly tell when its still recharging, not only that, sometimes i can charge across the battlefield and knock em all out like pinheads, so its not my re-charging time. anyone knows how to fix this?

This is a long shot but I need help looking for a fic on fanfiction.net. Many years back had read a post war fic with Shepard/Miranda. Shepard was a vanguard biotic. I think the major plot thread was that there was a 3rd evil Lawson sister pursuing Miranda, Shepard and Oriana with the aid of Kai Leng.

In the fic the Reaper War had progressed much differently and there was no space child or 3x colour ending. Shepard had been arrested and placed on trial due to his actions in the war and placed under house arrest. Both Miranda and Shepard had a strained relationship in part because they had been infected by reaper tech and could not have a physical relationship.

Has anyone tried running in the wrong direction? Do you hit an invisible wall or something? Just wondering how they made the levels.

I'm replaying the LE and for the first time ever, I decided to save Kaidan instead of Ashley. No hate to the guy, I just prefer Ash's arc. And mostly I feel she makes most sense to send with Kirrahe, and saving the Salarians feels like the right call. But after years and years of replaying the games and despite actually usually doing more or less the same playthrough and enjoying it, I said what the hell - let's switch something up just the once.

We had our little showdown on Horizon, as expected. Then later I noticed two things - one, when I did the Normandy Crash site I got his image instead of Ash, and two, Liara has just commiserated with me while I was having a rant during our chat on the Normandy saying "I heard what Ashley said on Horizon". So now I'm kinda confused?

I've never encountered this before in dozens of playthroughs. Is it an LE thing, or is there some bug with Ash somehow the default and I never noticed because I always save her? I always play Femshep and always import from ME1, and it's the right character. I didn't use Genesis. Every other smaller decision from ME1 seemed to carry over fine (Gianna Parasini, Shiala, Helena Blake, Nasana Dantius, etc). So I think my save is alright (I'm on Xbox).

Has anyone come across this before? It's not a huge deal, but I'm just wondering who is actually gonna show up in ME3. Given that I've actually decided to do a full run with the guy for the first time, it would be a bit annoying if it wasn't Kaidan. I'm assuming since he was on Horizon, i.e main game then he will, but I'm still a bit confused lol. Maybe the DLC has just glitched out in some way?
