Frage/Diskussion (Questions and debates) Looking for a loving home for two bonded FIV+ cats near Mannheim (Otterstadt)
Hi everyone,
I know this isn't a typical post, but I'm hoping someone in the Mannheim area might be able to help.
My uncle owns two wonderful indoor cats, George and Elza, and we are desperately trying to find them a loving home together.
Unfortunately, my uncle has been diagnosed with cancer and has to leave Germany and return to Serbia. I came here to help him, and in about 10 days I'll be driving him back home. Sadly, George and Elza cannot come with us because there are already other cats where he will be living, and since they are FIV-positive, they shouldn't be kept with FIV-negative cats.
About George & Elza:
🐈 George (black male, about 7–9 years old)
- Very affectionate and loves cuddles.
- One of his eyes was injured a long time ago, but he can still see well and it doesn't affect his daily life.
🐈 Elza (calico female, about 7–9 years old)
- Shy at first, but incredibly gentle, sweet, calm, and friendly once she trusts you.
Both cats:
- Have lived together for many years and are very bonded.
- Must be adopted together.
- Are neutered/spayed.
- Are microchipped.
- Have EU pet passports.
- We unfortunately don't know when they were last vaccinated.
- Are indoor cats.
- Are stable despite being FIV-positive and can still enjoy many happy years with proper care.
We are currently in Otterstadt (Rhineland-Palatinate), just south of Mannheim, and anyone seriously interested is welcome to meet them.
I don't speak German, so if possible, please contact me in English. If that's not possible, don't worry—I can use ChatGPT or a translator so communication won't be a problem.
This is an incredibly difficult decision for our family. George and Elza have been loved all their lives, and all we want is for them to stay together and find a safe, caring home where they can continue to be loved.
If you think you could give them that home, or if you know someone who can, please send me a message.
Even sharing this post could help them find the right family.
Thank you so much for reading. ❤️
