hello i really love the ug scene and id love to try and make an impact it just seems that almost every single popular ug artist or at least those who make it , only make overly distorted and extremely harsh music . i dont have anything against that type of music, its just that i dont think it would suit me to make it . im still really new to all of this so i dont really know what to make anyway but id probably use kanye and carti as a starting point before i find my own thing . any help is appreciated thank you!!

I recorded a song over a beatstars beat that I found and unfortunately when I uploaded the song to distrokid another artist already content claimed the song blocking me from being able to upload my track.

Ive reached out to the producer and am still waiting on a response from him. The artist that has the copyright on the song is way bigger than i am as an artist so unless the producer responds to me theres not much I can really do.

If you were in this situation and your potential biggest release yet is getting blocked and you're starting to gain a little traction from the record what would you do?

Ive tried to look at other beats but unfortunately there arent any good beats in that Tempo or Key or let alone the vibe of the record I was going for and im to broke to pay a producer to remake the beat.

had a bad experience with FreeBeats.io; I bought a beat, paid for the license, but my YouTube video still got blocked. If I paid and got a license, why would it still get blocked?

Also I am looking for beats to buy or get for free with a license that lets me use them forever.

ive been writing songs and skits for around 8 months and I believe im good but im still nervous about hearing my voice, I really want to make music and Im ready I have everything I need ready, whats some good advice for getting more comfortable with my voice and using it?

(in short how do I build up to being comfortable rapping)

Basically I make both hip-hop and Dominican Dembow beats and I run a beat YouTube page where I market my music. Each video has a Copyright notice in the description of the video.

A medium sized Dembow artist used one of my beats without buying a lease or reaching out. After about a few weeks, I noticed on Instagram that one of the biggest Dominican artists in the world with over a million followers is on a remix to this song. They also added a new synth to the beat during bridges.

The strange thing is that later, the original artist followed me on Instagram, dmed me asking for more beats, and also listed me in the credits on both streaming and YouTube; but no lease was bought nor an agreement ever made. I obviously want to figure out how to get money from this, I just have zero clue where to start as I know nothing about the business side of music. Any help or advice would be appreciated! Thank you

When I'm watching videos to upgrade my sampling and overall producing skills, the guy making the video is like "chop it up and make a pattern" and, even tho I have chopped up for my beats plenty of times, it feels like people are going to feel I'm a worse Producer if I use loops, like if it was something for inferior producers. Am I supposed to feel bad for using loops or do I just roll with it?

If you work a full 40 hour work week (or more) do you try to at least get in a certain amount of hours a week to make beats? If not hours then a personal goal such as “at least 2 full beats a week”

Also, If you’re someone who does it not just for passion or hobby but you are currently trying to get somewhere with it (Doesn’t have to be this massive big time producer but a comfortable place you’re happy with) do you give yourself certain time blocks dedicated to it to make sure you stay on track?
