HELP PLEASE Why does my skin always look like this with foundation?

Hi, so no matter what foundation I use, my skin always looks like this. On average I use Ilia Super Serum Skin Tint but today I used MAC Studio radiance foundation and my skin STILL looks like this up close. Is it normal skin texture? I use a liquid exfoliate every day. I moisturize, I don’t know why it looks so bad!!!

HELP PLEASE Wedding day lip color?

Thumbnail

I’ve posted here before and received great feedback, but I’m totally lost on the lip color.

I want to look close to natural on my wedding day, while still having my makeup be visible for photos. I think I’ve landed on a good look to achieve this. My lips are driving me crazy though. Basically what I do is put on a dark berry lip stain, rub it off, and then get frustrated and give up. I have no idea how to make lips look “natural but enhanced”, do I just wear a lip stick close to my natural shade?? Help!

First and second pic: most recent practice with lip stain applied then taken off. I think I did lip liner too.

Third pic: first ever practice, absolutely hated it.

Fourth pic: the most “No makeup” look, I loved it but tried my wedding dress on with it and the makeup completely disappeared in photos. Oh well.

HELP PLEASE Hello! I need help with makeup

Hey everyone, I'd love to get some makeup advice from you Reddit folks—basically from anyone who knows a thing or two about makeup. I'm attaching a few photos of myself without makeup below.

I just don't know how to do my makeup to look natural while highlighting my features. If anyone could give me some recommendations, maybe some placement guides for specific products, or advice on which colors would suit me best, I would really appreciate it.

Or maybe you could tell me if I have any celebrity lookalikes, so I can take some notes from their makeup artists!

I'll be super grateful! 🫶

HELP PLEASE What is my face shape? How do we feel about my blush placement? Any general tips Ana tricks for low maintenance everyday look? Hi

I never use any foundation or concealer and sometimes I think it makes me look weird. Last 3 pics is me using bronzer as a light “foundation” base. It’s peak summer in GA so I’m not wearing any heavy bases.

Nyx lip tint oil as blush and as liner
Mascara
Inner corner shiny green on silver usually
Or some deep red shade for my eyeshadow look with a shiny corner
Lil gloss

EDIT: by look weird, I guess I mean it looks strange when I have blush and no base. Almost like it’s missing this seemless edge. These pics look p good though looking back.

I’m wondering if I add a small contour below my blush , maybe that’ll help? I dis that in the pic with green eyeshadow and star clips in my hair

Also are these colors right for my skin tone ?

EDIT: also , should I invest in lashes? Would they elevate my look or add to that not seamless vibe I’m talking about. And sweaty girl approved lashes?

I wear my glasses all the time but wanted to find some clear full face photos. Having said that please take note of my glasses, for example I usually can’t wear long false lashes because they get caught on my glasses. I’m asking style wise I suppose? I’m unsure if high contrast or low contrast would be better or if I should go dark bold colors or simple “no makeup” makeup looks or even pinks, light colors, etc. I don’t wear makeup often so I kinda don’t know what I’m doing when I do try to wear makeup.

HELP PLEASE Suggestions for first timer

Hello everyone and my compliments for your makeups!
I'm a 37yo woman and I have practically no experience with makeup. I wasn't interested in it when I was a teen and I never got into the habit of using makeup regularly, I only do it for special occasions like date nights or celebrations and even that it's just foundation and a dab of eyeliner. I would like to have more fun with it now, but i literally have no idea where to start: I don't know what fits my face and eye shape, and while I would like to go for bold looks sometimes I'm still intimidated. I would like to feel like a valkyrie, but I'm a short chubby woman with a round face so it wouldn't be easy 😄
So, i've got a mediterranean complexion, hazel deep-set eyes with hooded eyelids, and big lips. My skin is pretty smooth (thanks genetics, I got something positive out of it). I don't really feel comfortable uploading a pic of mine right now and I don't want my face to pass through some AI filter.
If you could share some looks for a face similar to mine I would be immensely grateful! <3 Thank you all in advance!

HELP PLEASE Super quick morning makeup tips

Hey everyone!

So at the moment I have 30 mins to get ready - skincare, makeup, breakfast, easy to style hair (shower the night before). Without sacrificing sleep, I can’t have longer to get ready

Does anyone have any product or technique tips for simple fresh faced/glowing makeup that stays put? For context, I do have genetic fairly dark circles which can make me look tired so that’s a priority. I also struggle to layer skincare as they need time to settle which I just don’t have! So recs for skincare products that sit well under makeup would be amazing too 🙏

Spf wise, Bondi Sands works well on my face and I actually just use that as my moisturiser in the morning - although it’s okay idk if that’s actually a good idea or not??

(Also I live in the UK so must be available here)

Please recommend me what type of makeup styles I should try😅 everytime I try on makeup it ends up looking bad. When im at home it looks okay but when I step out of the sun it looks way different haha, it even peels.

I tried makeup preps and stuff, even a primer but its not working😔 it cracks around my red spots.

Please recommend cluster lashes style and how to do my brows too!

And for the contour, I dont get it. My nose looks flat from the front but from the side I have a bump. i reallt dont get how im going to contour this nose haha

I also need help with my lip products, whenever I try red, pink, brown that are for morenas, it looks weird somehow. Its so hard to find the right shade.

All help is appreciated! Thankyou!

I’ve been traveling so please ignore the different lightings and messy backgrounds.

So I curled my lashes, used brown mascara (Kiss Me brand), started matching my blush and lipstick, contoured (albeit mostly my nose), highlighted inner corners and tried some liner to give a soft wing, I used gel and an eyebrow pencil then pinched the end of my eyebrows, high lighter, and a tinted sunscreen. I also stopped lining my lips all the way and I went for a cooler/coral (I honestly don’t know) tone! Oh and a bit of purple shampoo to try to get the bronze out of my hair since people mentioned the warm color of my hair was clashing with my skin tone.

Thank you!

HELP PLEASE What to do about my under eyes?

Post image

Sorry if this is a super basic question to ask. Currently early in transitioning from male to female and have no clue about makeup. Feel embarrassed to ask someone at Ulta/Sephora.

So I am wearing concealer with primer in these photos which works for a whopping 15 minutes until the darkness re-appears ( I've read this might mean its being absorbed but I moisturize and use multiple serums daily and have very healthy skin otherwise so I don't see how it could be that) The area has been hollow my whole life so I dont know if thats a factor but Im really trying to find a solution that doesnt involve wearing a full face of makeup as im currently not out as trans to my friends/family.

Any tips would be greatly appreciated!

HELP PLEASE I need help figuring out my makeup style, what looks good on me?

Hey y’all! I have been experimenting with my makeup. I have oily, acne prone skin and a lot of hyperpigmentation and acne scars. I like dramatic colorful looks, but some things don’t feel right in my looks. I have sparse brows and it’s always tricky to style them with makeup. I’ve tried thicker and thinner. I am also trying to get a better base routine that covers my hyperpigmentation and acne scars well, and figure out how to do my eyeshadow in a way that compliments my hooded eyes. I have a reddish purplish blush I use often but I’ve been wanting to try orange blush or pink. I am not a big lash person, I feel like lashes could add to the look but I find them really uncomfortable so I need to figure that out. Any ideas of looks you think would be fun on me or colors that would flatter me are welcome :) I shared a few pics of looks I’ve tried and the last one is my bare face. My favorite look I’ve done recently is the first one. thanks ✨❤️

Sorry for the absolute dead eyes in both pictures I feel like I allways do a deer in headlights look in photos.

I'm not really sure how to do makeup that suits me? Like even when I do heavier makeup it dissapears on camera ig.

I try ro focus on bringing attention to my eyes to try and distract from my skin but I really struggle with Eyeshadow since my eyes are hooded

HELP PLEASE best dark circle treatment and cover up?

i have tried everything, researched everything, but i’m still overwhelmed by the amount of paid ads online and information saying different things. can someone who actually understands both how to deal with hyperpigmentation in terms of skin care, and how to cover it up with makeup, run through the basics or what products worked for you? sorry if this is repetitive but i’m so tired of running into undisclosed ads, i just wanted reddit’s opinion for this one

HELP PLEASE How to make my foundation play nice with my peach fuzz

I’ve tried many different foundations and keep running into issues of patchiness on my upper lip because my makeup doesn’t want to sit smooth over my admittedly thin and light girlstache. I’ve tried shaving it off but I found I really don’t like how it feels for anything to touch my face without the sensory buffer of the peach fuzz. Any techniques or product recommendations for getting my makeup and my peach fuzz to get along?
