Im 16 (F) and just got out of a 1 and a half year relationship. He always preferred “natural” so I stopped doing my drastic edgy eyeliner (which I loveddd) and heavy black eyeshadow.
Ive never really been into makeup but since him and I broke up I was like “oh hey, maybe I should start doing makeup.” So I went on a huge shopping extravaganza and bought foundation, blush, bronzer, all the goods, yk? Stuff I’ve never used before. And the nice woman at Sephora was helping me and guiding me to pick the products.
After Ive been doing my makeup everyday for a few weeks now, I can say that I dont think its the products that makes me feel ugly, or maybe it is? Idk.
I like doing my pink eyeshadow and adding a shit ton of glitter to my face. But I just prefer my face with no makeup and I dont wanna be ashamed of my acne. But Im in highschool, everyone is wearing makeup and trying desperately to get rid of the acne. I guess I care a little bit about it all (atleast enough to try to get my own stance on it).
But I just feel ugly with it, like I’m trying to be someone I’m not. Im scared that my makeup looks bad and everyones too scared to tell me.
It also doesnt help that I wear glasses (I cant see 4 inches past my face) so I do my makeup blind and honestly just hope for the best…
Can you guys please share your experiences? Should I try doing my eyeliner and eyeshadow again or stick with my natural glowy pink-eyeshadow look? I dont even know.
