magnesium glycinate calmed me down more than I expected, does splitting doses actually make a difference?
Been taking magnesium glycinate for about three months now, started for sleep issues which it genuinely helped with. What I didn't expect was how much calmer I feel during highpressure days. Not sedated, more like the edge is just... less sharp. Deadlines hit the same, but the physical response feels different. Less jaw clenching, less of that tight chest feeling that used to creep in around 3pm.
Curious if others have noticed this or if I'm just connecting dots that aren't there. I've read a bit about magnesium and cortisol but I'm not trying to go deep into the science here, just want to know if the stress angle is something people actually experience or if the sleep improvement is doing most of the work indirectly.
Also wondering about dose. Currently at 400mg before bed. Some people seem to split doses throughout the day and swear the timing matters a lot. Has splitting it made a noticeable difference for anyone, specifically around stress response versus sleep? The sleep benefit feels locked in for me, I'm just not sure if I'm leaving something on the table by frontloading it all at night.
