The Delving Update: Half a year late and complete garbage

Seriously, did anyone at SSG bother to check the numbers on this at all? The gear rewards are trash, teals with stats not even on par with purple crafted gear thanks to favouring vitality over might/agility/will and waaaay worse than gear from ember chests. Even if this was released day 1 of the expansion this level of gear would have been obsolete, 9 months in its a complete joke, especialy since its not even an upgrade over crafted items

At the same time and for no reason whatsoever mob health gets buffed by ~75% with an according damage increase so now random T10 bosses 2 shot you if you arent a tank. Like why???

Delvings were already semi dead and now you crank up the difficulty for no reason whitout even dangling a carrot in front of the players?

New zone east on Angmar/ North Downs, north of Moors?

This is very well defined in the terrain map, more than your normal out-of-bounds area. Did I miss an announcement?

Working on a Updated New Player Guide, What are Some Must Know Tips/Tricks for New Players?

Hey everyone! I know the community wiki technically has a new player guide but I have always felt it was lacking as it doesn't really cover many core gameplay elements like virtues, trait trees, or stuff like that. I would like to remedy that by making a comprehensive ultimate new player guide for the game. Some planned sections of my guide will include:

"Virtuosity: VXP, Virtues, and How to Become the Hero Middle-Earth Needs You to Be"
"Trait Trees and How to Use Them"
"Dude, Where's My Stuff? Item Bags and Inventory Management"
"Stats and Tacts and Mits Oh My!"
"Legen - hope you're not allergic to milk because the next word is -dary. Legendary Items and You."

I want it to be as comprehensive as possible. As of now I'm not sure if it'll go beyond level 50, but if it does well there is potential for possible guides for each expansion.

With all that being said, what are some absolutely need to know tips or tricks for newbies? It can be anything from common questions in chat or even simply resources floating around on the interwebs!

Any promo code I should be aware of?

Upvotes

I don't play D&D but every time I look at it, there's some promo code going on that gives you an expansion and more. Given that it's the same developer - is there any promo code for LOTRO at the moment?

Best time of year to buy expansions on sale for LOTRO points?

I was just wondering if there is a best time of year to buy expansions on sale with my lotro points? Is there a best time of year or is it all just random?

What is the highest % off you could expect to get on sale for big events like black friday?

How many lotro points would you need if you bought all expansions on sale?

Are quest packs included with expansions?

What is the likelyhood that they give a huge coupon code again that gives you content for free?

Thank you for any info.

Plugins and things

I'm getting into raids a little more casually and looking for plugins to help me track what I need to, playing a support class and trying to keep track of which of my debuffs and buffs are currently active and need refreshing or applying stacks with other classes, is there a plugin to help with this?

I‘m stuck - Epic Quest

Guy, I don’t know what to do anymore.

I‘m stuck at the Epic Quest „Volume 1, Book 13, Chapter 9: The Path of Aearil“.

At the last fight when Mordrambor „has enough“ and stuns me, Saija enters the room and the dialog stopps and everyone freezes.
I tried in 3 times already, trying to go slow with Saija, waiting for every dialog to end, fighting extremely slowly, but still …

Ok, so write a ticket, right?
Well I tried that too, but after submitting, I get a little pop up that my ticket was not submitted, because of my e-mail. I logged into my account to see if there is an old e-mail of some sort - but it’s correct.

So what am I gonna do? I just picked up the game after a long break, but not able to continue the main story makes me wanna quit the game again…

You guys are my last hope. Do you had this situation in the past? What are my options? What can I do?

Dourhand Dwarf RP

Coming back to Peregrin after some time away and I'm thinking about RPing as a Dourhand Dwarf who is disillusioned with his people, and seeks to rid them of the yoke of Angmar. That's the rough idea, anyways.

I'm curious how you lovely and creative folks would go about such a RP. What class you would play, how you would interact with the world, aesthetic, etc.

Is it possible to recreate this in the game?

Post image
10 Upvotes

Basically, I have an armor design of my own (the sketch above) that I wanna recreate in LOTRO, and so far the closest I got with my search was the helmet but even then, it has antlers instead of dragon horns.

Regarding the colour scheme, the armor/metallic parts are supposed charcoal black (aka unpolished armor - she can't afford the luxury of the shiny silver look lol) but given my limited choices I'm willing to settle for the "normal" metallic colours too. Pants were meant to be navy blue but at this point, any type of black or grey can do, IT JUST HAS TO BE BAGGY. The undershirt, it can be any type of cold or neutral dark colour, since it is not very visible anyway.

I have been trying to sort through the database myself for some time, alas it seems I have to request the aid of the community now.

I'm gagged by the sorceress class in monster play, I don't play MP but cool for who plays it.

This is a complete serve from standing stone games, I almost purchase it thinking that it was a Free People class.

Lotro would be very benefitted by a new magical class like something like that, herbalist, druid, witch, sorceress, something fresh for the game.

Today you'll not get my money Standing stones, maybe when I can be able to level up my sorceress from 1 to level cap

How much time do I need to really enjoy the game?

I started playing a little bit a couple of years ago but my free time has significantly decreased.

Do you think it's still worth playing if I only get an hour or 2 a day to play?

Never been a big MMO guy but I absolutely love LOTR and Middle Earth. I definitely enjoyed it when I played last but I would play for 5 hours at a time.

Bug?! One of my carry-alls changed from Bound to Account to Bound to [one character]

I have a Dye carry-all which I am certain used to be Bound to Account. It is the only Dye carry-all I own and I have moved it many times between characters to dye outfits.

Today, I found that it is now bound to one low-level alt and none of my other characters can pull it out from Shared Storage to access the dyes.

I have checked the vaults and inventories of all my characters and found no other Dye carry-all. Also, it contains all the dyes I own. Even if I had mistakenly bought or acquired the new carry-all somehow, I would not have moved all the dyes to this new carry-all and destroyed the old one.

Has anyone else experienced or heard of such a bug? Should I submit a ticket about it? Thank you in advance for any help.

Citadel Guard-inspired ceremonial outfit & how to get it

Thumbnail

Since LOTRO does not offer a complete player version of the Citadel Guard NPC uniform, I assembled a ceremonial guard outfit from several different Gondorian and PvMP pieces. I bought the Fierce and Brutal Armour of the Wary pieces around 2022 from the Coldfells armour quartermasters at Glân Vraig in the Ettenmoors, under the older pre-2023 vendor lineup. I now keep them in my Wardrobe and use them as ceremonial RP armour. My character is Florondir Amandyl, a Gondorian Champion currently Respected with Minas Tirith.

Mount - Steed of the Citadel Guard:
Purchased from the LOTRO Store for 1,995 LOTRO Points. It also unlocks the matching Citadel Guard war-steed cosmetics.
[Available - July 2026]

Weapon - Greatsword of the Citadel:
Bartered from the Defenders of Minas Tirith Quartermaster for 125 Minas Tirith Silver Pieces.
[Available -July 2026]

Head - Lacquered Helm of the Ithilien Captain, dyed black:
Bartered from a Host of the West Herbalist in North Ithilien for 2 Phials of Sapphire Extract and 4 Phials of Amber Extract.
[Available - July 2026]

Shoulders — Brutal Pauldrons of the Wary:
Originally purchased around 2022 from the old Coldfells armour-vendor lineup in Glân Vraig. According to u/LabNo8051, the relevant version should now be available from the PvMP barter vendor for 250 Marta.
[Community-reported barter availability — July 2026]

Back - Cloak of the Citadel Guard:
The cosmetic version can be purchased from the LOTRO Store for 295 LOTRO Points.
[Available - July 2026]

Chest - Fierce Hauberk of the Wary:
Originally purchased around 2022 from the old Coldfells armour-vendor lineup in Glân Vraig. According to u/LabNo8051, the relevant version should now be available from the PvMP barter vendor for 250 Marta.
[Community-reported barter availability - July 2026]

Hands - Fierce Gages of the Wary:
Originally purchased around 2022 from the old Coldfells armour-vendor lineup in Glân Vraig. According to u/LabNo8051, the relevant version should now be available from the PvMP barter vendor for 250 Marta.
[Community-reported barter availability - July 2026]

Legs - Brutal Leggings of the Wary:
Originally purchased around 2022 from the old Coldfells armour-vendor lineup in Glân Vraig. According to u/LabNo8051, the relevant version should now be available from the PvMP barter vendor for 250 Marta.
[Community-reported barter availability - July 2026]

Feet - Fierce Boots of the Wary:
Originally purchased around 2022 from the old Coldfells armour-vendor lineup in Glân Vraig. According to u/LabNo8051, the relevant version should now be available from the PvMP barter vendor for 250 Marta.
[Community-reported barter availability - July 2026]

I originally bought the Fierce and Brutal Armour of the Wary pieces around 2022 from the Coldfells armour quartermasters at Glân Vraig, under the older pre-2023 vendor lineup.

**Many thanks to u/AdAffectionate1935 for pointing out that the current normal vendor shops now offer the differently modelled Footman’s items instead, meaning that my original coin-vendor instructions were incorrect. u/LabNo8051 additionally reported that the relevant pieces can be found in the PvMP barter-vendor inventory for 250 Marta each. I have not yet verified the exact barter pages directly in-game, so I am listing this as community-reported availability as of July 2026.**
