Sellers: include your location and where you'll ship, accurate photos and condition, and a shipping cost estimate. Update the thread as things sell. Buyers: keep communication open and be upfront about your intentions. Both: go easy on personal info in the public space, and be respectful to each other.

For payment, PayPal Goods & Services is strongly recommended — it gives both parties purchase protection. For pricing, check current retail to anchor your estimate, then factor in age and wear. Happy selling! — The /r/longboarding Mod Team

Gear Show-Off Got my first longboard (49 y/o)

I needed to fool myself into exercising and it’s going great so far. This heat wave in the southern US is brutal but I’m learning and having fun. I go out about 11 pm and hit this smooth clean parking lot and just do laps and cruise.

Gear Show-Off I've waited over a year to get into longboarding

An old neighbor gifted me a completely sealed longboard and a skateboard that his kids didn't want, a couple years back and after moving to my new place I finally have the space to learn.

This is a post for both showing off what I have and also getting feedback.

I'm 33 in October, just bought some new Nike skate shoes on sale and fully unwrapped this board.

I couldn't get into skateboarding because I'm a bit freaked out with going down ramps and longboarding has appealed to me more.

I love the Skate games and Tony Hawk, but today, just cruising down the hilly parts of my area; it was exhilarating.

But it also made me realize, I need to order a helmet and some pads.

About 4 years back, I broke my right wrist when I was running with my dog. That messed me up for weeks.

When I was 14 or 15, I tried to do a manual on a skateboard and bailed hard.

I flipped my bike once and got my jeans caught in the chain when I was in grade 6.

I'm not averse to bailing, but I also know I'm too old now to take major risks.

I wanted this board for just traveling to the local stores and all I can say is; WHOOOO BOY I'm exhausted after 2 hours of swimming and 15-20 mins of learning to board. Does the pain go away, or is it just about working your leg muscles?

Does anyone have any tips about keeping momentum with inclines/going up areas of road? Or is it just keep pumping? Also when I'm riding, I have my body turned towards the left side of the board, I believe. I'm not sure if that Goofy or Regular.

Where's the best placement for feet and am I supposed to hop off the board if it's going too fast?

This is all very new to me! Thanks in advance :)

RKP Nomad is an urban skater focusing on the individual rider experience. The "Post" skater phase is gone and most of your friends aren't even around anymore. We skate because we want to, maybe even need to.

Just a quick cruise around the block.

Gear Show-Off Beeg nu wheels

These are so awesome, 69mm wheels aren't exactly small either, but 85mm wheels roll over everything and keep going for fucking eeeeever. They pick up speed scary fast even on very light declines...

I think there might be juuuust enough clearance on this Arbor Axis 37" to put some risers to lower the deck a little without wheelbite, gotta try that later.

Gear Show-Off found my diy downhill gloves

when i was starting out I wanted to see what it was like and not spend the money because the gloves were expensive for me back then. so I got ingenious and used some river rocks, they actually work quite well i have not tested them on serious sessions though but for starting out learning the ropes, they do the trick😃

Gear Show-Off First ride after about 10 year hiatus. 37 is not too old!

I went for my first ride in about 10 years and it was so fun! I road the residential streets around my neighborhood. Found a nice gradual downgrade to get a little speed. Still able to revert to fakie and pop over cracks and manholes.

Grew up in South Africa always watching the Loaded gang in Cali, skating awesome spots on the coast, wishing I could one day replicate what I imagine the feeling was. Kyle Chin, P Swiss, James Kelly, Ethan Cochard, Adam Stokowski... etc.

Portugal has some of that flair too. Feel like I kinda made it somehow.

Thanks skateboarding, now to get back into dh and freeride.

So i got this omen surfcraft a while back but the frit originally was so fine and slippery i hated it. Did a little tentacle pattern in medium frit mixed with some clear and black then a very thick layer of fine frit everywhere in between. Pattern didn’t show well so i hit it with some sharpie lol. Just testing ideas. Now it feels nice and sticky so i put some love handles on it and valkyrie cast 50°.

Gear Show-Off I keep breaking decks

o/

My last board (on the bin) had the 92mm Karmas and 7mm lowering brackets. I am a really big fan of the "Jucker Hawaii Pueo" (8 ply maple) deck. I like the drop through design with double kicks. I dearly appreciate the diagonal strip with no griptape which is ideal for carrying. I also like the unobtrusive laser engraved design, i am not a fan of bright prints. Only one problem - i seem to keep breaking them in the same spot.
Only thing i could complain, it is very stiff and if i dont mind the technique i get headaches when i go fast over long distanced (pushing, no pumping yet). Then every tiny imperfection in the ground hurts, though standing on the outside with front of foot helps.
The free lowrider from ebay i tried scraped on some places on my weekly routes but very nice and easy to ride. Did not make it 2 weeks sadly before it snapped.

I am now searching for an alternative to put the axels from my og pueo:
- drop through
- at least one kick
- option without griptape to replicate the diagonal carry strip (self apply)
- no flashy print (wood or laser engraved)
- more flex? against headache (old one had close to none)
- NOT BREAK on bigger bumps (60kg)

hoping for many replies (:
