I recently relocated to the area for a job opportunity and I plan to get engaged in the next month or two! I was thinking of renting a pontoon boat, going out on the lake around sunset, finding a private cove where we can view the sunset, and popping the question. This would be followed by a dinner afterwards at a restaurant where we could dock the boat and eat.

I was wondering if anyone who is familiar with the lake had any suggestion’s on a “secret” place that would be great for a private proposal where I can have a good view of the sunset. Any recommendations on whom to rent a boat from and where to eat afterwards would also be greatly appreciated!

We ate coming to lake Norman in July to rent a lakefront property. I just called for a pontoon boat rental and had a nice gentleman alert me that the lake is 7 ft down and our inlet might not be deep enough or have water. Is there any way to check or does anyone have any info. We were staying at 4145 Cindy Lane in denver. Wonder if anyone in the area has any info. The rental company did not. Ty

are there still any "in by nine, out by five" cleaners around? I just need a dress shirt dry cleaned and pressed. Relatively new to the area and I haven't found anyone who turns things that fast. I'm in huntersvil Davidson area so bonus points for being in that general area

Hello everyone!

I am incredibly excited to announce that I will be opening a brand-new local business in Mooresville, North Carolina, this February: Nippon Anime Shop.

My goal is to bring that specific "convention floor" energy to our local community. Instead of having to wait for the next big event to find high-quality collectibles, you can just stop by the shop. We will be carrying a wide range of official Japanese pop-culture merchandise, including highly detailed figures, artistic wall scrolls, plushies, and other unique accessories that you usually only see in dealer rooms.

Community and Gaming Space Beyond the merchandise, I wanted to create a dedicated hub for local hobbyists. We are going to have a specific focus on the Weiss Schwarz trading card game, but our doors are open to everyone. We will have plenty of table space available for:

• Trading card game matches and tournaments
• Model kit building (Gunpla and more)
• General hobby hangouts

We are currently working hard on the build-out and are targeting a February opening.

This is probably wasted effort, but I noticed that the subreddit was in restricted mode. I've requested it be changed to public so that people can engage with the lkn community and ask questions without waiting on slacker mods like myself to approve or even notice. Full disclosure, I've moved from the area and would be eager to hand over the duties to someone in lkn who has an interest in making this a resource for other locals and visitors. Some of you may have seen our post a couple of months ago where we were looking for people to trial our business, for those who didn't here's a quick rundown. A friend and I thought it would be cool if you could turn any photo you want into a paint by numbers kit. That way you can paint your dog, cat, partner, the whole family or whatever you want without having to be an artist.

We looked up the idea and found that the current stores in the market were ridiculously expensive or only offered kits without a frame or with a DIY frame (who wants to put together their own frame? Don't you just want to open the box and start painting). So we looked around and talked to a bunch of suppliers and eventually we were able to produce custom paint by number kits cheaper then anywhere else and already framed.
