Hello! To start. I am a 15 year old kid who's crazy about electronics, after frying our Mibox. I decided to repurpose my old Dell XPS M1330, which is upgraded to 3 GB DDR2. And decided to install this wonderful OS on it.

Here is my experience

Pros

This OS is light. I mean VERY light. On a core 2 duo, 3 gb ram and 120gb storage. This thing runs like a BEAST. You can do youtube playback, movie playback at relatively good performance. Kodi itself is also very flexible.

Cons

This is a me-only situation, but my XPS had a shattered screen, and even after beheading my laptop, the never versions still persisted on trying to use the non-existent laptop screen, so I had to use a legacy version to get around color and screen issues.

To summarize. This thing is great! And if you are setting up a HTPC, home server, id 100% recommend it!

Hi everyone. I am running libreelec since last year on a rasp 4. I wanted to add an emulator for nintendo ds, but there seem to be none in the add ons store. Is it even possible to do in the libreelec kodi environment?

I am using a 13" CRT for retro gaming/video but I cannot for the life of me figure out how to get KODI to show a 640x480i resolution option - all I get are 720x options.

Has anyone been able to do this? My current set up is Pi3 B+ → VCR → TV; I am using the PI's 3mm jack for composite and converting it to RF via the VCR.

Any help is appreciated!

Here is what I was trying to do, I wanted to boot off a libreelec live usb stick, but it would not boot because it kept telling me there was a secure boot violation. I went into the bios and turned off everything I could find relating to secure boot but nothing I did would make it boot, at one point I was so frustrated I went and made a new drive on a different brand usb stick, of course that still did not work. So now my windows 11 won’t boot and I can’t get anything to boot, the only thing that I can get to boot is a Ubuntu live usb. I really don’t care a whole lot about savaging the windows install but I would like to know if it will make it so the nvme it is on will never be able to be reformatted to be used in a different machine. Here are screenshots of the bios if you see something wrong please let me know. The last picture is what I got when I tried to boot Ubuntu live server version, after it threw that error up on the screen it proceeded to power off the computer.

Hi all, I'm hoping someone can help me. I have officially run out of ideas. I recently got a geekworm m2 hat for my rpi5 and an integral SSD. I've moved my librelec install to the SSD and ever since then ive had issues with the WiFi connection on it. Seems I can connect to it, but every time I reboot the pi, I have to manually reconnect to the WiFi. The connection state is always down as failed, but it seems to connect ok. I then am unable to connect via ssh, I keep getting a timeout then connection stopped by the pi.

Sorry for the big old chunk of text, I've asked AI and it suggests that maybe the SSD is drawing too much power but im using the official power adapter. I've also tried making the WiFi kick in later after boot and clearing the connman cache. Anyonr got any ideas for things to check?

The only info I can find is when creating a SD card you have to use an 8GB one. So I reckon 8GB is enough.

I'm currently running LibreELEC on a Pi4 and when I check that SD card the partition is just 500+ MB. And the rest of the space is just unformatted... so it seems even 1GB could be enough.

If you’ve ever deleted a folder from your NAS or hard drive and noticed that Kodi still tries to scan it—or if your logs are full of `Process directory '...' does not exist - skipping scan`—you know that Kodi’s built-in "Clean Library" doesn't always finish the job.

It removes the movies/episodes, but it often leaves the underlying **path references** in the SQLite database (`MyVideosXX.db`). This leads to "ghost" entries and slower library updates.

I built **Library Cleaner** to solve this once and for all.

Just in case anyone else couldn't get Bluetooth working on a Wetek Play 2......

I was running Corelec 9.2.8 and had no Bluetooth - not sure if it was a hardware issue or not. I installed the (still maintained) unofficial Leia Libreelec build (as newer versions of Kodi don't have the drivers for DVB) and plugged in a Orico USB Bluetooth 5 Dongle (Realtek RTL8761BUV).

I've got it working by adding "dtoverlay=disable-bt" to config.txt

I want to be able to control the TV (changing inputs, turning it on and off) by using a keyboard connected to the Raspberry Pi 3b+ that has libreELEC installed on it (I have two LG TVs on the same room and the both remotes turn on both TVs, its a PITA).

So far I have been able to turn off the TV by turning off libreELEC from the shutdown menu, but that means that I have no way of turning on the TV with the keyboard, only by unplugging and plugging the Raspberry's power source.

I've seen that I could send hdmicec commands via ssh, but that seems a bit involved, so the question is, would it be possible to execute said commands via a keyboard press (like, set F1 to change inputs, F2 to turn off/on tv and so on).

Have this issue both on pure Kodi and LibreELEC on my Raspberry 5, so is not an issue strictly for LibreELEC, but the issue I am having is that when I stream over HTTPS from my personal server and I pause the playback and wait for lets say 5 minutes, then resume playback, I can just watch what has already buffered, then it stops media playback and I need to resume playback.

It is not a major issue, but very curious for the reason. Is it that the connection over HTTPS times out or something? Can I solve it somehow?

I've spent the entire day trying unsuccessfully to get a raspberry pi 4b running libreelec 12.2.1 to connect to my Unifi vpn server using the wireguard protocol.

It will report as connected, but the Unifi router shows no active connections, and as soon as I toggle the VPN on through either connmanctl or the kodi gui, all ssh access is nuked and I need to reboot. It will still play over the Wi-Fi or direct connection, just ssh gets nuked, but it always shows the pi's actual network IP and not the VPN vlan's network id.

Away from the computer right now, but I will comment with my downloaded WH config file from the router and the translated file I've used on the libreelec device. I'm sure I've got something wrong there, but I can't figure 6 what it is and I've become exceedingly frustrated with the whole thing. Ended up using an openvpn based connection that I have set up for another project and it's working fine with that. I'm mostly just stubbornly wanting to get wg working, as it will connect directly to my router and not to a third party solution

I set up an old pc with libreelec. Originally, I was just going movies and shows.I have , but I notice that it has some game emulation options. I have a Raspberry Pi running retrofit and different computer using MAME, but I was curious if I could combine all into one. I'm only really good at following instructions but I couldn't find any good ones. On the emulation add-ons and I'm struggling a bit. Does anyone know whare so.e good Instructions on the emulation are?

I have LibreELEC set up, but would like to buy and use a Hauppauge Quad tv tuner to watch and record live TV.

The Kodi wiki says I need a backend like NextPVR for this.

I found the NextPVR addon in Kodi, but how do I actually get NextPVR itself installed in LibreELEC? Or do I need a different Linux OS?

I want to view my 3d bd iso's (mvc) , using my raspberry pi 3b+. (got 2 of them)

So far I've got it somewhat working using an older version of libreELEC 9.2.8.
Problem is that with one pi 3b+, I only get screen artifacts and distorted 3d video, but great sound, with the other one I have, I get perfect video but no sound at all when running a 3d video.

I also tried turning on bitstreaming audio, instead of decoding to pcm, but makes no difference.
Restarting Kodi/libreELEC makes no difference, audio plays fine using other 2d video's.

I think that I have perhaps two different pi3 hardware revisions.

I am using LE on a Raspberry pi 4 together with a WIMAXIT M728 Monitor and attached „built-in“ speakers.

The speakers constantly give a low white noise when not playing anything. Usually not an issue but I want to Build a touch-Alarm-clock which is Close to the ears when sleeping.

Any idea where this is Coming from and whether I can make it fully quite when not used? Already tried the Audio Settings on and off like very low noise, keep alive, etc…

I'm using a Windows Mini PC with LibreElec on it and trying to get Simple IPTV to work since it's in the Kodi Add-ons.

Does anyone face the same and if so any advice?
