David Letterman at Just For Laughs in Montreal

Did anyone else catch Dave's show at Just For Laughs in Montreal tonight? I was in the fifth row, and I loved every minute of it.

Dave did a combination of new bits, old gags, some reminiscence of both his shows, and a couple of musical gags with surprise guest Paul Shaffer. Then Dave brought out Will Arnett for an off-the-cuff chat about Arnett's career, and all three of them surprised us with a very special Top Ten list... Ten things that sound great spoken by Will Arnett. They ended with a French rendition of "Taking Care of Business", Dave signed a couple of autographs, and that was the show.

Seeing Dave live was a bucket-list dream of mine that I thought died when his show went off the air... I'm so glad I got a chance to see him tonight. He is a mythological figure in my life. I love him.

Today is the anniversary of the moon landing...

... which gives me an excuse to share one of my favorite Top Ten gags.

One of Larry King's pet peeves is when he's about to go on the air with Neil Armstrong and he says "please, no questions about the moon landing".

Paul and the Orchestra performing "On Broadway?"

Hey all, unless my memory is screwed I remember a time when Paul and the Orchestra performed a rendition of the song On Broadway on the show, but for the life of me I can't find it anywhere online. Was just wondering if anyone knows where I might find it?

Thanks for your time.

Where are Regis Philbin's appearances on David Letterman's shows available to stream? Worldwide especially

He had 136 appearances iirc. A few of them used to be on Youtube but many were taken down when Worldwide Pants/Letterman created their own channel. And they almost never put up Regis' appearances, which were hilarious mainly because it opened up Letterman. Please help if possible. Thanks

The Enshittification of the Letterman YouTube channel

If you’ve noticed the Letterman YouTube channel going sharply downhill in the last week, this is the reason why. The clips no longer seem to be curated by people who actually worked on the show. Everything is very click baity and geared toward the lowest common denominator now. The clips themselves are edited badly, removing chunks of interviews for no apparent reason. First we lost Don Giller’s incredible fan channel. Now we’ve lost the inferior - but still pretty good - previous official Letterman channel for something far worse. I really hope the channel is only going through growing pains and will be better than ever soon.

ISO: Top ten biker pick-up lines clip

Hey yall! So I’ve been trying to track down an episode from February 22, 1996 that includes the top ten biker pick up lines. I searched through the YouTube archives and found a few online sources that include the jokes in writing, but I can’t seem to find an actual clip from this episode.

I’m trying to pin down the video because I just found out that my dad is one of the bikers telling jokes 😭😂

Heres the IMBD link https://www.imdb.com/title/tt4817720/

Heres the link confirming it was on February 22nd https://www.oocities.org/jaylipp/Letterman/topten96.html

Top 10 Clip

Looking for a specific Fall 2001 "Top Ten" clip with real desk graphics (Iowa teens / bin Laden)Hi [ Reddit Community], I am trying to track down a specific clip from The Late Show with David Letterman that aired in late October or early November of 2001 (likely a Monday–Thursday broadcast). This is a deeply personal request for closure, as I was one of the subjects of the bit.The segment was a Top Ten List built around a real news wire story about two teenagers from Iowa who were arrested in Madison County, Florida, with a car full of guns, planning to steal a yacht to go to Afghanistan to get Osama bin Laden. Here are the exact structural and visual details to narrow it down:The Setup: Dave sat at the desk near the beginning of the show, read the actual news wire story, and the broadcast actually displayed our real mugshots/booking photos on the screen. The Placement: The joke about us was saved for the Number 1 spot on the Top Ten list. The Exact Number 1 Punchline: Dave delivered the final line imitating us, saying exactly: "What the hell were they going to do when they got there...? Osama, we got weed. Get in the boat dude." (Ironically, there were no drugs involved in our arrest; it was a stoner stereotype the writers used for the joke).Because showing real juvenile mugshots on screen was incredibly rare, and because I have the exact quote for the Number 1 spot, I am hoping this rings a bell or stands out in a script log from that post-9/11 window. If anyone has this digitized or can point me to the exact air date, it would mean the world to me and my family. Thank you so much for your time and help.

Interesting 1981 interview with Letterman (after the cancellation of his morning show)

Posting this as I hadn’t seen it before now. The interviewer is a bit pushy but it’s fascinating to see Letterman in the transition state before his first late show became a success.

Please help me find…

I am new to this sub and this might be a long shot, but I am looking for a copy of Late Show with David Letterman S6E162 (5/27/1999) with Bill Murray and Everlast. I attended the taping with my brother and would love to find a copy. We were invited to sit in the front row and this is a core memory for us both. I am hoping to give it to him as a gift for his birthday but have been unsuccessful thus far. I would appreciate any advice you have.
