Last post on the natural history musuem, i promise. Filled up the second floor with more exhibits from old sets whose themes i had to look up to remember what they were from, haha. There's some knights, soccer players in honor of the world cup, a samurai, r2d2, a little underwater vehicle/ scuba divers from aqua raiders, crossbow/ cannon/ musket, shields, and an astronaut mannequin by the rocket. I put two knight mannequins on both sides of the ticket counter, as well as a tree to the dino room to add some flair to the first floor. There's a stretcher by the door since it's a civic building so got to have first aid equipment on hand haha. I also made the pyramid a bit better (my original one was kind of sad). Lastly, on the roof, Peter Parker just got out of school, so is playing his daily game of afternoon chess with Dr. Kilroy. Please share your customised musuem exhibits if you have them!

I just finished building Tudor Corner. It's one of my favorite modulars so far but I can't stop wondering why there is a trap door in the floor of the cupboard on the first floor (the clockmakers workshop), where you store the vacuum cleaner, as seen here: https://images.brickset.com/news/116361_P1001398.jpg

There doesn't seem to be an explanation in the instructions. I've checked multiple online reviews, only Jangbricks' review suggests that it's there so you can more easily take out the vacuum (although I have no problem taking out the vacuum with my adult size fingers).

I was wondering if there is an official "in universe" reason for the trap door, like the secret passageways in 10246 Detective's Office. The trap door leads into the Inn's kitchen on the ground floor, but I couldn't think of a logical connection between them (besides the implication that the clockmaker earns so little he has to steal his breakfast, or that the dirt from the vacuum cleaner is being dumped on the full English breakfasts 😂 ).

Has anyone made a spanish style courtyard in their modular layouts? I grew up in Monterey, CA, and the old downtown has a lot of old historic Spanish buildings with really cool hidden courtyards tucked away behind and in between buildings, and i am really interested in trying to recreate that same vibe to go amongst my modular buildings. I found this design on rebrickable by Brick Kaiser that i thought was really good and was curious if anyone has built that one or has made their own. Please share your designs and ideas and photos if you have them!

With more modular adjacent builds acquired for my city, I'm going back to the drawing board. I'm going with a tiered system city reflecting a hill or mountain side facade with false tunnels that lead to each level except the ground floor (sea level).

Initially I swore off the Motorized Lighthouse and Old Fishing Store but after finding a deal i couldn't refuse, I've decided to add them to my city. After seeing the University of Science Bricklink Designer Program set in review, that was something I wanted to add to my city as a place of learning (if your not a gifted student with Professor Charles Xavier).

The final piece to the puzzle for this next layout is an Imperial invasion due to a Rebel cell operating in the city. Planning to fit a UCS AT-AT in the streets is a fun addition.

using a rebrickable moc (#79626 by stonewall bricks) to turn central perk and the friends apartments into a modular. had a pretty difficult time for someone who builds frequently and had to take long breaks as I would get frustrated (not something easily done, might I add). as I was putting some of the finishing touches on, I couldn't get some pieces to connect. sooo I pushed too hard and the whole third floor flew off and smashed to the ground. I'm done with this for a minute 🫩

ps the build itself is amazing and I commend the artist(s) who not only take the time to make them and create instructions, but have the talent to do so in the first place! very happy with the build itself, just had to step away for a sec.

It's 2 by 1.5 standard baseplates in size. While mostly finished, there's a few areas that I plan on improving with future updates.

A little while ago, I posted on here some photos of musuem exhibit ideas I made from parts of old lego sets from when I was a kid. Now I finally integrated them into the musuem. Here they are. How'd I do? Let me know what you think!

The paraoah's tomb can seamlessly swap out the dino for a special Ancient Egypt exhibit. I made a micro-scale pyramid model (super simple, just two pieces) and put it on the table that's tucked under the stairs. I fit in a treasure chest and filled it with a gold plate piece, which i think was from an indiana jones set (i'm using it here as the tablet of Ahkmenrah in case there are any Night at the Musuem fans!). The ancient pottery room is now home to a viking display as well, complete with a couple of shields and a mannequin donning viking garb and helmet (the viking and the tablet of Ahkmenrah might be connected to the mysterious broken pottery shards on the floor...). Indiana jones is a mannequin on display next to the geodes. The skeleton horse and a standard minifig skeleton are additional museum attractions to fill out that room a little more

Never thought I would own this. As it is not my favorite design and prices are crazy.

But hey, here we are =)

I saw the boutique hotel, although retired, is still in circulation at a few retailers. For people who have it, is it worth picking up while still available at its original retail price? What are your thoughts and opinions about the set? I have the natural history musuem for context

I built my first ever big brother house in 2024 now its 2026 so now im taking this build to the next level!!!!! Below are the top view photos of my bb27 house and the week 1 look at my bb28 house

Wanting to display 2 standard baseplate modulars side by side per shelf, probably 3-4 shelves high. Prefer an open shelving/modern and light wood/metal/paint colours as this is going in our living room 😅 I thought I’d found an IKEA one that was perfect but then I realised the individual shelf height isn’t tall enough, the 36cm-ish high of my tallest modulars (I don’t have all of them) is taller than most shelves. We’re going to take a look tomorrow anywhere but while I’ve already googled for days I thought I’d see if anyone had any bright ideas. Google keeps serving me ads for a Mustard Made cabinet that looks amazing if not for the $1190 price tag 🤣

I put my layout up the other day but I have made some changes. The sushi resturaunt is now on the waterfront and is in a spot that fits better. The ones im still unsure of is the art factory and the sherlock book nook. Im going to have to get a new table as I only have room for 1 and a half modulars and I plan on adding the fishing village, the science university, and some other official modulars and mocs. Next project is expanding the beach to cover the full length.

I can’t have both in this exact spot. In terms of "fun" and visual impact, which one do you think is better?

I've watched the expansion and evolution of the modular line over the years. Beautiful sets but I have some requests that I wish LEGO would consider adding. (Aside from a Hospital since that seems to be a popular request)

The introduction of transportation focused sets. Transportation has largely been confined to the CITY brand but i've never been impressed with those basic and juvenile focused kits.

- A functioning streetcar. LEGO has tram set 60423 but its not really Modular worthy.

- An airport than isnt designed for small children. Something larger and more detailed thats in line with modular. There was an entry on Lego Ideas called "Swan Wings Airport". Great concept but it fell just short of votes to move to finalist stage.

- A proper train station. Something classical and ornate like what you'd see in Europe or perhaps something Beaux Arts inspired like some Union Stations.

- An airliner worthy of Modular. Its time for something a bit bigger, detailed, more mature and more functional but still relatively playable. 7893 was a breakthrough product but I would love an airliner that was multi aisle, say 1-1-1 seating. It could vaguely resemble the 767-200 or A330-200 (wider fuselage, double bogie landing gear, ULD containers which 60367 already has etc) . It would require new mold pieces but that didnt stop them with 7893 and its successors.

- A harbor/dock would be nice. The lighthouse set was a step in that direction.

Modern buildings and contemporary architecture. This would be a bit of a departure from the main street 19th-early 20th century vibe but could be an interesting evolution

Misc (Im sure some of these have been mentioned already)

- A mansion/luxury home

- More parks and recreation oriented sets

- A landmark tower/observation tower

- Post Office

- Farmers market/food hall of sorts

- A Plaza
