My spare-parts version of the Alchemist's Shop is making good progress (thanks to 15 years of collecting LEGO pieces... 😅)
The second floor, however, was a real challenge. I was missing a lot of parts, or simply didn't have enough of them, so I spent about three hours building, taking things apart, searching through drawers, and trying different solutions.
Here are a few photos of the current progress... and that's it for today.
The next update will probably be the roof—if I can come up with something decent. I already know the giant potion bottle is probably impossible to recreate without buying extra parts, but I've decided not to buy a single piece for this personal challenge.
At worst, the roof won't look much like the original, but that's okay. I've had a lot of fun, rediscovered plenty of forgotten pieces, and that's really what this project is all about.
I also realize I never could have made this much progress if I hadn't spent the last few weeks sorting almost all of my collection. As a bonus, I've included a photo of my storage setup !
Has anyone else here tried building this set using only the parts they already own ?
I already know which set I'll tackle next with my spare bricks. Even though it forces you to make compromises, I find this kind of challenge incredibly satisfying.
