Mod Update Antisemitism, Racism, and Bigotry will not be tolerated
What the title says. I'm beyond exhausted hoping that some of y'all will pull your head out of your asses and live up to the values necessary to be a passable human being. Since this has been a repeated failure, we will move to a zero-tolerance model going forward:
- Antisemitism will result in a 28 day suspension of your account from this subreddit, followed by a permanent ban for any infraction afterwards.
- Racism will result in a 28 day suspension of your account from this subreddit, followed by a permanent ban for any infraction afterwards.
- Bigotry (this definitely includes transphobia) will result in a 28 day suspension of your account from this subreddit, followed by a permanent ban for any infraction afterwards.
- Genocide denial will result in a 28 day suspension of your account from this subreddit, followed by a permanent ban for any infraction afterwards.
If you have a doubt of whether or not something is going to run a-foul of these zero tolerance boundaries, don't fucking post it. No, I'm not going to rules lawyer technicalities. The time for you taking a nuanced approach is passed. No, I'm not going to accept ignorance as an excuse. It is 2026, go get educated on how to not be a piece of shit.
This is a warning to all users - I don't give a fuck how well you discuss theory, the praxis you claim to have accomplished, none of it. If you are in this community, you will be a decent fucking human being. If you can't step over that incredibly low bar, then I don't want you here so fuck off.
ADDENDUM: As of 9.15 PM Eastern, any further comments defending this content as not being antisemitic will be banned permanently. I've explained repeatedly the rationale behind this and I'm done giving the benefit of the doubt that users can hear a new expectation and engage with it responsibly. If you cannot act like decent people, then this subreddit doesn't need you.
For everyone else who asked clarification and/or generally acted like a human being, thank you.
EDIT: Locking this to catch up on bans.

Mod Update r/leftist and Veganism
This has been a long time coming and every opportunity was extended to allow the topic to be allowed on r/leftist, but those opportunities have come to an end. As per the newest addition to the sub's rules:
# 7. Prohibited Content
Prohibited Content includes permanent and/or temporary policies aimed at addressing specific events or issues which may affect the community. Currently, the following items are considered prohibited content:
* Veganism - Permanent: As veganism is not inherently a leftist topic, posts centered on veganism rather than leftism are are banned. Any posts or comments referencing veganism must be in relation to anti-capitalism. Proselytizing about veganism is forbidden.
There has yet to be a single post about veganism on this subreddit that has been rooted in anti-capitalism that has not devolved into an advertisement of veganism. There are many subreddits about veganism, including some from a leftist perspective. Please utilize those subreddits in the future - posts proselytizing for veganism will be marked "off-topic" and removed. Repeated violations will result in actions including suspension and up to permanent ban.
As this has been an issue before, we will be monitoring activity surrounding this topic and any hint of brigading will be reported.

General Leftist Politics From Gaza ,the simple things they used to consider basic, like food, water, medicine, education, tourism, and everything similar, have become dreams for them now. Their only concern is securing food, water, and medicine; these things have become dreams for them.
This is Iyad; he is special needs. After their home was destroyed, everything in his life changed. He used to sleep in a bed and receive the care he needed; today, he sleeps on the ground—amidst the heat, insects, and mosquitoes—far removed from the care he was accustomed to. Iyad cannot articulate what he is feeling or ask for what he needs, but he understands hunger, fear, and exhaustion. They left their home and everything behind... and now, they have nothing left but each other. Please, do not leave Iyad alone. A little compassion could mean the world to him.

North American Politics Republicans say America is broke, then find $95 billion for Trump’s Iran war and voting restrictions
I am so fucking tired of being told that America cannot afford healthcare, housing, food assistance, education, veteran care, or anything else that would materially improve ordinary people’s lives.
House Republicans just passed a 216–214 budget blueprint that begins the reconciliation process for a package worth up to $95 billion.
The breakdown:
• $60 billion for the Pentagon
• $13 billion for national security
• $12 billion for farmers affected by Trump’s tariffs
• $10 billion connected to the SAVE America Act and its new voting requirements
So let me understand this correctly.
Trump drags the country into another war without congressional authorization. His tariffs hurt American farmers. Then taxpayers are expected to fund both disasters while Republicans attach Trump’s voting agenda to the same package.
Meanwhile, 18 American service members are dead, more than 430 have been wounded, and the Iran war has already cost taxpayers an estimated $37.5 billion.
But when Americans ask for affordable healthcare, cheaper housing, properly funded schools, food assistance, or functioning veterans’ services, suddenly every Republican becomes deeply concerned about the deficit.
The money always exists for war.
The money always exists for corporate handouts.
The money always exists when Trump wants another blank check or Republicans want more control over elections.
It only disappears when ordinary Americans need something.
Fuck Donald Trump, fuck this pointless war, and fuck every fake “fiscal conservative” who pretends America is broke until the Pentagon comes knocking.

Debate Help Protests can never be peaceful
The term itself means disagreement and when this happens it will lead to violence. Peaceful dialogue is the only way or a peaceful legal action.
Such public protests are just political propaganda and every party will try to gain mileage from it and the students will be left stranded
r/leftist • u/Outside-Possible-680 • 6h ago
Debate Help One thing the current student protests have shown is how united students can be.
Watching the current student protests, the first thing I noticed wasn't the politics - it was the unity. Students from different backgrounds standing together with a common purpose is honestly impressive.
Whatever your opinion on the protests is, I think that kind of unity is something we don't get to see very often. What do you guys think?
(Please **do not comment** if you want to relate it to any political agenda)

satire Right and wrong "democracy" this became a ?
Right and wrong may be relative, but this is certainly NOT the way to handle a peaceful protest. When the future generation of a nation speaks up, and their voices are met with repressive force, it is the future itself that is being stamped down. It is faith in democracy that is being drained away. What did these students do wrong? Did they destroy property? Did they resort to violence? What exactly did they do to deserve this treatment? To every person protesting for a just cause, peacefully, in any part of our country, I extend my wholehearted solidarity. The right to dissent is not a threat to democracy; in fact it is one of its foundations. And to anyone about to question my sense of nationalism, I know myself better than you do.
My politics is humanity. My belief is peace.

North American Politics Oppose the death threat against UAW presidential candidate Will Lehman!
On July 16, Raymond L. Jensen Jr., a high-ranking official of the United Auto Workers, posted a death threat against Will Lehman, the socialist Mack Trucks worker and candidate for UAW president. The threat was an AI-generated image posted on Lehman’s public Facebook campaign page depicting Lehman bound with rope and gagged, blood running from his mouth, with a masked man aiming an automatic rifle at his back.
The International Workers Alliance of Rank-and-File Committees (IWA-RFC) calls on workers and all defenders of democratic rights to denounce this incitement to violence against Will Lehman and demand its unequivocal public repudiation by the UAW.
Jensen’s threatening post cannot be brushed aside as the act of a deranged individual acting on his own. Jensen is an organizer on the staff of the UAW. Until recently he was the assistant director of UAW Region 9, the region to which Lehman belongs. He was paid approximately $202,000 in total compensation in 2025, according to the union’s LM-2 filings with the US Labor Department. He is a prominent supporter of UAW President Shawn Fain, and his Facebook profile displays an “I Support Sha
***
The IWA-RFC calls on UAW members and workers in every industry, in the US and internationally, to take up the defense of Lehman as their own cause. As Lehman stated: “This threat is not aimed at me alone. It is an act of intimidation directed against the entire rank-and-file opposition.”
The IWA-RFC also calls on all left-wing and progressive organizations to categorically denounce this threat.
https://www.wsws.org/en/articles/2026/07/21/cpit-j21.html
Register your opposition to this incitement to violence! Email the UAW at [[email protected]](mailto:[email protected]) to demand that it publicly repudiate the threat against Lehman, with a copy to the Will Lehman campaign at [[email protected]](mailto:[email protected]).

Question Why are there so many Zionists on Reddit?
I feel like this site has one of the largest pro-Israel communities on social media. You really have to dig for Zionist content on X, YouTube, or TikTok, but not here.

North American Politics Fuck Donald Trump, and fuck this disgusting “body-count scoreboard” bullshit
Trump really posted this like dead Americans are numbers on a fucking campaign graphic.
“Venezuela: 0 dead.”
“Iran: 18 dead.”
Eighteen service members are still eighteen human beings. Eighteen families who lost someone. Eighteen lives that do not magically become acceptable because previous wars killed more people.
Imagine being commander in chief and responding to American deaths by basically saying, “Relax, my number is lower than Vietnam.” That is not leadership. That is a malignant narcissist grading his own war with a curve.
He is also comparing conflicts with completely different timelines, objectives and circumstances because the numbers look flattering when stripped of all context. Human beings reduced to statistics so an elderly billionaire can congratulate himself online.
And his supporters will still call this “respecting the troops” because apparently wrapping callous bullshit in an American flag makes it patriotism.
Veterans and service members are not political props. The dead are not points on Trump’s fucking leaderboard.
Fuck Donald Trump. Every preventable death matters, even when the number is inconveniently small for his victory lap.
General Leftist Politics For those that need reminding, using Spotify is not leftist behaviour.
Tired of seeing fellow 'leftists' continue to use Spotify when they pumped profits into AI military tech. They screw over small artists through not paying their fair share and give preference to larger artists in special deals. Their pay-to-play features reduced artists income. The platform is bogged down with AI artists and fake artists, again propping up AI. Etc etc. Please just suppprt artists directly.
Boycotts can achieve great things. Check the story of the Dunnes Stores Boycott and South Africa.
I understand convenience is the key to a lot of consumer decisions, and at this point it can be hard to avoid unethical companies at times but genocide and fascism aren't exactly convenient either.
Would love to see this sub pin a clear list of companies leftists need to avoid at all costs and a short summary of why they need avoided to cut down on the time needed to educate.
