I hate saying "as a ...", but as a physician, I don't want my patients, my friends, or my family to go bankrupt from medical bills because they can't afford basic insurance.
The ACA was a stepping stone to universal healthcare. A stepping stone meant something when it came out...16 years ago.
The US is the ONLY developed country without some version of this basic human right and we all know why it hasn't happened yet.
Most Americans, from any party, approve of Medicare for all. Saying that we need to inch our way towards by "expanding the ACA" is unacceptable because the ACA itself is unaffordable.
