So I'm putting together a HVLP oxy system with a Stage 2 Duo unit from dpgsupply, and the plan is to enclose all of the concentrators in their own little box and ventilate it separately from the shop. That way if there's a bunch of smoke in the shop it won't affect the concentrators, and hopefully it cuts down on the noise a little too. Plus the top of the box becomes a shelf to put crap on...
Edit: I have plenty of ventilation around my work spaces for smoke/fumes, but if I have guests over I have to constantly remind them to exhale into the exhaust vents so the rest of the room, and therefore the concentrators don't get smoked out.
The plan is to have a fan inside the box that's blowing the boxed air outside, and some sort of furnace filter type thing to pre-filter the air that's coming into the box, also from outside the shop.
The box will likely be 36 cubic feet (2'x3'x6') or less, and at full capacity will have 4x Invacare Platinum 10s operating at once.
It seems like about 20cfm is going to be plenty to exchange the stale air (nitrogen) so the concentrators don't starve, even 10cfm should do it, but I'm wondering about heat buildup in such a small space.
The manual for the Platinum 10 says:
"Exhaust: Less than Ambient + 45F (+25C)" which doesn't make sense at all. 45F is like 7C, and 25C is about 77F.
Anyway, I'm wondering if anyone has any real-world experience with this sort of thing instead of just going with some nonsensical numbers in a manual. Even if the numbers were consistent, I still have no idea how much air I should exchange to keep the temperatures reasonable.
Winter vs summer is going to be interesting too...
