I've been a kpop fan for over 7 years but there was always a one thing that confused me: idols houses and living privately.

I'm talking about groups that are popular in Korea and aren't rookies anymore (like aespa, Twice, BP, IVE etc.)

So I know after some years members usually live apart in separate houses/apartments. There is my quesion: how do they manage to live in private while going out (probably) very often? I mean, they have to go to grocery store or do daily, human activities in their free time. How do we not get hundreds of photos of idols near their homes everyday? Or maybe they live in celebrity neighbourhoods? They're just casually walking on the sreet? Is it just uninteresting to Koreans?

And I know there were incidents of ppl finding addresses or trying to broke into their houses (Jungkook case) but... I always felt like it would've been more common? Esp for big BIG groups. Those situations feel like an exception, not rule.

Yeah, it is possible to compare it to local celebirities from my country but idk, they're not kpop idols who are worldwide famous, fansites also don't exist, fans aren't that invested into them 🤷🏻‍♀️ so I think it is a different case.

Is it okay to make fanmade acrylic light sticks with a group's or soloist's logo on it, if it's not commercial and if I have it labelled as "unofficial lightstick"? I'm not familiar with how other kpop fans go about it, and if companies are usually okay with that.

I was also thinking of making stickers of the logo for freebies, but again I don't know if that's something people are usually okay with doing.

Edit (context): there's a good chance the company's managers will see it, so I'm more worried about if there are usually company rules against it, and/or if it's common enough for people to do this that companies are chill about it

I think a lot of ppl are struggling with figuring out transportation for this concert bc yesterday the MBTA special event train ticket sold out in 5 minutes and there's almost no possible way to get back aside from leaving the concert early to catch the last train or spending 200+ on an uber or driving. I also way about to buy rally bus tickets but they sold out! I'm really struggling to find a viable option so I was wonder what others are planning.

Been into K-pop for a while (since 2nd gen) but as a casual listener and took a break between 2015-2023.

I am looking for songs from 3 to 5th gen idols that upon first listen the artist has a highly distinguishable voice/vocal tone/timbre? Not musically inclined so not sure if that is the correct term.

Examples: I recently heard a song with Haechan as I wasn't familiar with with him or his songs, he was so identifiable. Many YG artists like BigBang, Bom, CL, and LeeHi (not YG anymore nor Kpop but love her 4 Only album) have it. SHINee, Bibi, Hwasa, Jihyo, and BoA too.

If anyone has recommendations on songs, either as a solo or part of a group, where the identifiable vocal tone really stands out, would love a listen.

Hello! I got into Secret kinda late, basically after their disbandment, but now that they're back I'm so thrilled!

Anyway, question for 2. gen fans, or those who were old enough to witness. How badly did Hyoseong's controversy affect the group and Hyoseong's image? Was the group's image tarnished in a way that the public lost interest in them as a whole (only "loyal" fans stayed/didn't care/forgave her), or did they manage to build up the fanbase again and their disbandment was due to terrible management?

My intent isn't to "bring back hate" or to criticize Hyoseong. If I remember correctly, she even studied for a Korean history exam since she was so embarrassed and ashamed about this whole thing (I believe she mentioned this on a Knowing Bros episode last year). I'm curious because there's not a lot of articles about what happened after the word misusage, and since Secret was kind of dying after 2013/2014, there aren't many fan posts about them.

Additional question, how bad was Zinger's and Sunhwa's public Twitter feud? For those who don't know, Zinger and Jieun went on a variety show and I think Zinger got asked about the members' drinking habits. She said that Sunhwa liked to complain about the world and life (?), and I guess Sunhwa saw this so she went on Twitter and wrote that she had told the members that she was upset by her blank/dumb stereotype image that she had in her early Secret days, not that she only complained when drunk. Then Hyoseong went on Radio Star (Korean talk show) and tried to do damage control but Sunhwa went on Twitter AGAIN and posted "That's not it though ...", basically refuting Hyoseong's statement😭

I tried to find post-Zinger/Sunhwa-feud content but I only managed to find a picture of them in late 2015 and early 2016. What was the atmosphere like?

TLDR: Was Secret's image ruined by Hyoseong's misusage of the word "democratization" and what was it like being a fan after the public feud between Zinger and Sunhwa?

Ive been trying to expand my music taste and be more open minded into listening to K-Pop but from what I've listened to so far, I haven't found much based off K-Pop playlists I've been trying to listen to? Is there any good albums/groups that I should try that I may be interested in for a new listener? I haven't really explored that much and am willing to try.

I like basically anything whether it is ballads or pop, I don't really like very aggressive rap styles and I usually like when there are some genre bending from artists, such as Latin-Pop or other stuff like that. I also like songs/artists that have mostly relatable and meaningful lyrics. But I'll be open to listening to a lot just as long as it's not too bland or very overbearing.

so i stumbled upon a korean artist called DISH that took me into interest since they drew H.O.T fanart which was sooo cute. and i have some of her work partially saved that were archived by other people but it's not all . in her illustrations there were links to " 98hot.com " and " club entica " links ( dunno what that is ) the links dont work in 2026 . when i tried going in the Wayback machine the pictures failed to load . most of the websites that archive their art has art in gifs that when i try reverse image searching it's completely lost . i would love to see more of her artwork ! archive ( the comments described here that she was a popular artist in the 2000s and she had merch , im tryna get a lead onto this , is it the same as the manga she drew ? ) partial ive also stumbled upon manga they did and im pretty conviced its them because of how similar the artstyle is ... manga 1 manga 2

Hi, I'm looking at getting stray kids light sticks for my nephew and I in case they do a US tour and I'm just a casual k-pop fan so I don't know all the places to buy kpop merch except for a local shop which is out of stock. I would ask my nephew but I want it to be a surprise! I saw SubKShop has light sticks in stock and googling says they are legit but their bundles are $40 for a light stick AND an album and it feels a little too good to be true.. does anyone have experience buying the album bundle? The "no refunds or exchanges" is making me a little nervous too.

My hope is my brother will give a thumbs up for the concert, I'll acquire tickets and light sticks, day of pick him up and not tell him that's where we're going till we're almost there, total surprise :) if I can't get tickets I know he'll still be excited just to have the lightstick and we watch music videos at home

this isn’t a BTS question this is simply I don’t use Weverse enough im boomer at this app I just recently redownloaded it for the newjeans content for their four year anniversary i believe it was earlier today and I saw that they have listening parties now which is kinda cool. I connected my premium Spotify account to Weverse and it says it’s playing the song in the listening party and on spotify, but I don’t hear any sound. My sound is all the way up nothing’s on mute. My ringer is on all the way and I hear no sound. when I play regular videos I get sound does this happen a lot cause its making me feel stupid. 😅

In Weverse announcements I often see how a passport is required to verify one's identity at concerts and I don't know if this applies only to Korea/Japan, or if it counts for the US as well because I am travelling internationally from Canada.

After being headstrong with finding this music video all by myself I’ve finally given up and decided to ask for help!

For years this music video randomly pops back in my head once in a while and I spend maybe and hour or two trying to find it before giving up and forgetting about it, just to repeat the process over and over again.

I honestly have the vaguest memory of the video and no clue how the song even went so you’ll have to work hard with me on this one hopefully, so here it goes,

From what I’m remembering it’s a music video set at a school, there’s three prominent figures..(?, maybe there was a whole group trying to help the guy?) but the main guy was learning how to dance to impress a girl and I think he might have been competing with another guy.

That’s all. All I’ve had for years is just that small bit. My sister and I were pretty big fans of bts during 2017 so it was during the 2017/18 (maybe, maybe 2019 but I don’t think so) era that I watched it. I've beaten that soundtrack to death and could probably rap the entire album minus the Korean parts verbatim. So I'm definitely looking for something that's like Huntrix. I've listened to BlackPink and have really liked that. I'm 24m if that matters. Trying to avoid boy bands unless they're more like BlackPink and less like BTS EDIT: my taste in music has been mostly metal, Rap, Punk, and some Pop for most of my teen years and my adult years.

Hello! Not sure I'm posting in the correct forum or using the correct flair but hoping for some insight. I love Oregamix Kpop mashups and have been listening for a while and have (had?) many of them on my Kpop playlist. Very recently they posted the Blackpink every song ever ultimate mashup, which I loved and immediately added to the playlist. Liked the post announcing it as well as the video when it came out. But now I cannot find any trace of that mashup, that channel, that post, nothing, anywhere at all. It's not in my playlist, or anywhere in my like history, or anywhere on YT, no matter what I try to search. When I Google like "Does Oregamix still have a channel/lose the channel" etc, it tells me that the popular channel still exists and provides a link to the YT channel and the SoundCloud. When you follow the links though, they both say something like user not found/page doesn't exist. Anyone have any insight? Know if it got taken down for copyright strikes? Anything??? I feel like I'm in the Twilight Zone with this mysterious missing channel that the Google robot is insisting still exists 🤣😭 I seriously loved their mashups so if anyone can shed some light, or tell me where I can still listen to them, I'd super appreciate it!
