Everyone Needs To See This Mayor Zohran Mamdani Says ICC Arrest Warrant for Israeli Prime Minister Netanyahu Should Be Honored

Seeing a politician listen to questions and then answer them is something I’d forgotten
•

Everything Mamdani does is performative. He touts how he balanced the budget but neglects to mention boring from the state and hurting the pensions. He pays citizens to remove snow and touts the removal (partial)but doesn’t properly fund the people who should be doing it. On and on, it’s all a show.

Stick to the St Louis subreddit champ
•
u/PrattDirkLerxt 1h ago
I guess we found a Mamdaniite who got bit in the ass by the truth!
•
u/Own-Dependent6876 1h ago
Better than being some dude in St Louis who’s infuriated by him lmfaooo
•
u/PrattDirkLerxt 1h ago
Infuriated? Not really. I just pointed out the obvious. You’re the one who immediately went to my post history (how much should I bet that you hide yours?)to try to find something that you thought you could attack me with. Seems like you’re the angry one here. Is it because you hate the truth about Mamdani or that you know STL is a great place and you don’t live here? Whatever.
•
•
u/Brilliant_Bowler_994 3h ago
But you showed your hand early and will have no chance getting close to arresting him now. Not smart really.
•
u/anony_mf 12h ago
Trump the dog on a zio leash already tweeted saying he would not arrest the war criminal
But mamdani should do it anyway as a statement and an example and for everyone to see trump get him out
•
u/diprivan69 1h ago
Republicans are threatening to put Mamdani in jail for 10 years, citing some law about arresting foreign officials
•
u/ResortClear730 5h ago
Sure, sure. Except the US isn’t a signatory to the ICC, it never has been, and doesn’t recognize its jurisdiction. Your statement has no basis in law or reality. None of this is new, it’s been standing policy since 2002 when Congress passed The Hague Invasion Act.
Also, a US mayor doesn’t have the authority to interfere in international matters that affect the US. Foreign affairs rests solely in the realm of the federal government. It’s literally in the Constitution.
•
u/crokinhole 25m ago
Your country is a disgrace for not being a signatory. america just doesn't want to be accountable for anything they do.
•
u/ResortClear730 10m ago
Ooooorrrrrr, it would violate the constitutional rights of US citizens, more specifically the 6th amendment. US citizens are afforded the right to a trial by a jury of their peers. The ICC doesn’t do Jury trials and even if they did they wouldn’t be peers.
•
u/anony_mf 4h ago
Just because the US isn’t a signatory to the ICC doesn’t mean they can’t do the right thing and arrest a war criminal. What is this logic? I understand that mamdani can’t do it, I’m saying trump should do it if he wasn’t a blackmailed bi tchonaleash
•
u/ResortClear730 4h ago
Yes it does mean the US won’t arrest them. Unless he breaks US law that would someone remove his diplomatic immunity, it would be completely illegal.
Why is the logic on US law hard for you to understand? Wishing for something to happen doesn’t mean it can. Stop living in a fantasy and join the real world.
•
u/anony_mf 4h ago
Diplomats can be declared persona non grata and expelled. That’s the LEAST they can do. Also you’re acting like the US actually care about laws or follow them. Under what laws was it legal for the US to kidnap a foreign leader and his wife? Or invade Iraq? Or bomb Iran. The US doesn’t care about laws
•
u/ResortClear730 4h ago
Well I don’t know the legality around the Venezuelan raid and from your responses I highly doubt you do. Iraq was legal under US law and was approved by Congress. Iran was legal initially because of the war powers resolution act of 1973, again a law passed by Congress.
Do you happen to know what the war powers act is or what powers it gives the executive branch? If the answer is no, then I don’t know why you are so confident in your responses.
Really I think this discussion boils down to what is actually allowed and your emotions.

I don’t much like Mandani, but I would never suggest assassinate a political opponent like some Redditors do, disgusting behaviour

It’s the leftist mantra, so assassinate what you don’t like/agree with

A bunch but Chicago was a big one, I was literally downtown for that. Trump Tower seemed to be the focal point and most police officers were the targets. When they couldn’t get to Trump tower widespread looting took place. Any more questions?

Far more political violence is committed by the right than the left. And left wing violence has risen in the past year, and it's still not even close. And this is even if we remove all radical islamists from the right-wing group, despite being right-wing.
You're dishonest or ignorant. Which is it?
•
u/Redditneckbeardzz 4h ago
It seems I hit a sore spot, are you a leftist? Right wing violence has traditionally led but as you said leftist violence has overtaken it. Nothing I said is untrue.

Yes, ignorance or dishonesty is a sore spot for me. You're absolutely right.
Right wing violence has traditionally led but as you said leftist violence has overtaken it.
If you look at a single data point, sure. But over the past decade it was something like 23 events per year for the right people in the us vs 4 for the left. To say "one year left wing people were more violent than right wing people", even tho it only rose to levels far below the average for the right wing, "then it's the mantra of the left to be politically violent" is ridiculously dumb.
Almost everyone on the left condemns the violence of other people on the left, while less than a 3rd of republicans "strong disapprove" of Jan 6th rioters busting into the capital to overturn an election Trump lost. And on top of that, you have right wingers cheering on the ICE killings of two US citizens.

What a clown
•
u/deltaface 8h ago
Why is he clown, because he follows local and international law?
•
u/Ok-Medicine8545 7h ago
Because he kept boasting about doing it during his campaign knowing he couldn’t do shit, politicians are gonna be politicians after all.

u/Arola_Morre 14h ago
This guy supports law and order too!? I was sceptical at first but every thing I hear is another reason to be jealous of the people of NY
•
u/HomemadeManJam 13h ago
I just wonder why he promised to arrest Netanyahu in the first place. When he made those promises during the campaign, was he relying on bad legal advice, did he misunderstand the law, did he knowingly make a promise he couldn’t keep? Something else?
•
u/UnableChard2613 4h ago
Probably because he did intend to.
But, to be clear, he was already walking it back in 2025 months before the election by saying "Whatever the law allows me to do in New York City, that's what we will do, but we won't be writing our own laws to that end." It seems after his initial talking about, someone sat him down and said it can't happen. So he walked it back.
•
u/HomemadeManJam 4h ago
From my googling, it looks like that quote is from his 7/18/26 ny times interview. Where did you see him saying that in 2025 months before the election? Did I miss something?
•
u/Arola_Morre 12h ago
Where there is a will, there is a way. The US can cooperate with the ICC if it chooses to. I reckon Mamdani was following Trump's lead as the law/order president - Donald went so far as to bomb a foreign country, do an illegal ground invasion, and "arrest" the president of Venezuela. Scooping up a war criminal on NY turf is pretty easygoing and pragmatic in comparison but largely follows Trump's initiative to catch the bad guys.
•
u/HomemadeManJam 12h ago edited 12h ago
I’m not sure I understand. If Mamdani is following trumps lead on catching the bad guys and Netanyahu is a bad guy and arresting him would be easygoing and pragmatic, why is he now backing off of his promise to arrest Netanyahu? If there’s a will here, what’s the way for Mamdani?
If Mamdani doesn’t believe he has legal authority to make the arrest as mayor, why did he promise to do so when he was running for that office?
I don’t follow his reasoning. To me, it looks like he made a promise he knew he couldn’t keep and now he’s breaking that promise to the voters, but maybe I’m missing something here
•
u/Arola_Morre 9h ago
Because Trump recently announced that he will allow the war criminal in to the US without arresting him. I can only speculate in response to your reasonable and unbiased pondering, so I suggest that Mamdani loves America and values the President's guidance, so will follow his lead. Make America Grepsteins Again!
•
u/HomemadeManJam 8h ago edited 8h ago
I don’t pretend to be unbiased and fwiw, I see both Trumo and Netanyahu as monsters. I think Mamdani is breaking a campaign promise and he deserves criticism for that. That’s my perspective. What’s yours? I’m open to persuasion
If Mamdani is following trumps lead, that might explain why the arrest is not happening now, but it doesn’t explain why he made the promise in the first place. I don’t mean to put words in your mouth, but are you suggesting that Mamdani made a campaign promise and then was inspired by trump to change his mind after taking office? Or something else?
I am skeptical that’s the case given that Trump and Mamdani openly criticize each other. It doesn’t seem likely that Trump’s rambling tweet on this issue would have a persuasive impact on Mamdani.
Is that how you see it? That Mamdani sincerely made a campaign promise and then later changed his mind after being inspired by trumps leadership?

u/Arola_Morre 7h ago
Chill bro, it's not that deep. Politics is give and take and I already answered that question: where there is a will, there is a way. A city mayor might know what can be done legally and what should be done morally, but a mayor does not have the authority to go against the will of the
supreme leader, sorry, will of the President. Your President made clear that the people of the nation support Israel's genocide - so the genocidal maniac gets to visit and rub everyone's faces in it. That is freedom and democracy, baby. Gad bless America.•
u/HomemadeManJam 6h ago edited 6h ago
I take these issues seriously so I think it is that deep. If you don’t want to have to have this conversation that’s totally cool. I’ll leave you alone if you want. I just saw a comment and replied. If I misunderstood I’m sorry. I’m not trying to bother anyone
I agree that Mamdani doesn’t have legal authority to make the arrest. That’s not my issue. My issue is him making a promise to do something he obviously could not legally do. So it looks like he might have a will to make the arrest, but not a way.
I’m open to other perspectives and explanations, but it looks to me like Mamdani misled voters when he made that promise. And if we’re going to excuse that as the general give and take of politics, which i don’t think is necessarily unreasonable (provided there was some kind of compromise here, which doesn’t appear to be the case), then we have to extend that grace to other politicians as well. I don’t think Mamdani has extended that grace and that’s where I see hypocrisy and bad politics.

Fascinating to see people lump on him when he speaks facts. It looks like there are either A: a lot of broken bullshit filters out there, or B: the bullshit is what they like. Face the facts, people. No matter if it’s what you want to hear or not, facts are bulletproof. Bullshit is not.
