As someone who goes to the gym, I canāt really judge someone based on a few reps that may or may not be to the point of fatigue. I donāt care if he could do 225 for 40, heās a shit head.
1
u/NotNice4193 Jun 19 '26
even if its his first reps...good on him for trying. neckbeard redditors should take notes.
also...fuck him...hes a pos
1
u/Blacklite_01 Jun 19 '26 edited Jun 19 '26
You're sending mixed signals lol. Ehh anyways yeah exercise regimen doesn't come into it, guy is a POS regardless. Also just throwing this out there but it must be stated if your whole appeal as a person no matter what kind of person you may be, boils down to whether or not you can do basic exercises on camera then that is rather pathetic no two ways about it.
1
u/NotNice4193 Jun 19 '26
You're sending mixed signals lol
signal 1) judging people for being weak while trying to improve themselves is stupid.
signal 2) Pete is a pos.
Dont think that conflicts. lets make fun of him for all the valid reasons we already have instead.
1
u/Blacklite_01 Jun 19 '26
If they're trying to improve anything what do they need cameras for?. Idk about any other mutt who thinks how they look is more important that who they are. But physical appearance is and always will be skin deep.
If they really cared about themselves on a meaningful level they wouldn't have to project pointless things like how much weight they can lift or reps they can do at every opportunity. That lowers them into being nothing more than human figures to stare at and not people with character, true individuals with real value who do meaningful things with the status and free will they hold.
1
u/NotNice4193 Jun 19 '26
Sure seems like hes not filming himself...looks like someone else if filming specifically to talk shit...
1
u/Blacklite_01 Jun 19 '26
Blah blah blah, there we go with the what about-ism cherry picking bs, y'know what forget i said anything. It's not worth the hassle trying to get you to understand word one of what i'm getting at.

Fake news, he actually hit like 40+ reps but the video shows his last one lol

These are embarrassing and do absolutely nothing for the role he is wholey unqualified for.
I got into an argument online with someone about this last year about Hegseth. Every time I posted something negative they would respond with "BUT HE WONA. BRONZE STAR BYT HE WON A BROZE STAR".
Just to be absolutely clear, Winning a bronze or silver Star, A purple heart, a Medal of Honor still means absolutely nothing to your qualifications as the Head of the department of defense. Sure if you had a medal of Honor. I assume you know your stuff, but regardless of that all people to have held that position have been legal/logistical/accounting/ negotiating/ implementation/ experts and leadership people with additional skills that they can bring to the table. Hegseth is none of these, he is an entertainer from Fox News ffs š¤¦š»āāļø
Besides shooting a gun or doing a drill course, your physical capabilities do not make you suitable to the department of defense leadership. Your understanding of everything that makes up that department are what make you qualified.
Hegseth, like Trump, would rather go online and pick a fight with nobodies than actually do his job to resource funding to ensure that military personnel are looked after to ensure.
For instance, right now that the US military is actually having to increase production of the munitions that it needs. Trump has had to invoke some article from 1950 in order to expedite the production of ammunition such as missiles and ballistics. Because they dropped so much on Iran, they didn't realize they had nothing ready to replace it with. The US missed its deadline for producing Tomahawk missiles for Japan earlier this year because they put all their eggs in one basket. The country isn't exactly defenseless but it's it's already pushed the country into a seriously weakened position. I'm sure in years to come whistleblowers will come forward and speak about just how bad things were. I honestly don't think we've even touched the tip of the iceberg when it comes to Hegsetha unsuitability to this role.

u/jackajar Jun 18 '26
Lmao this is a MAGA Reddit, yāall actually look up to this loser. Not only can he not run a āwarā department, homie canāt even lift, incredible.
If this was a video of a Democrat lifting you would be clowning so hard on him.
2
u/ThomAllcock Jun 20 '26
he's quite impressive with an axe /s

Correct, typically we clown on the opposing side.

u/jackajar Jun 19 '26
We cut out failures when itās apparent, you just keep taking it. Itās astonishing to watch.
Just donāt forget, itās never too late to back out.

Film the guy at the end of a workout.
As someone who doesn't like any politicians, I am informing you that this just makes you look like idiots.Ā
Also we get to see a bunch of redditors critique someone's workout form.Ā Cherry on top.Ā Ā

u/BaphometWorshiper Jun 17 '26
He made 40 reps ... Can you ? That's a LOT.
1
u/AttorneyParty4360 Jun 17 '26
40 reps is standard 4Ć10 sets. is this the end of the exercise or the beginning? I can't imagine anyone who actually bench presses has noodle legs like that while lifting.
1
u/BaphometWorshiper Jun 19 '26
He does 40 reps in one set, he probably benchpress more than 99.99% of the planet.
2
2
u/VegaJuniper Jun 18 '26
40 reps and 4 x 10 reps are completely different things.
EDIT: Checked the full video, and he does 40, but he kind of half-reps them.
2
u/Juvat-the-bold Jun 17 '26
Guaranteed that you can't even come close to what he did during this exercise.
Anyone who's ever seriously lifted knows you've never lifted.
2
1
u/GtBsyLvng Jun 17 '26
What do you think of the quality of his reps? People who lift seem very divided. He definitely wasn't performing up to military standard, whether that standard is right or wrong.
2
u/Juvat-the-bold Jun 18 '26
44 of those reps is legit.
He looks like he can bench 315, which would put him in, probably, the top 1% of all men on earth.
1
u/VegaJuniper Jun 18 '26
Dude, they're all half-reps. He does maybe 1 to lockout. Someone even shouts at him "all the way down, all the way up", with absolutely zero effect.
1
0
u/Lockean_Demon Jun 17 '26
Iām sorry of the bench or the press? Either way, kinda pathetic speaking as a tech geek who couldĀ still bench more for longer after nearly 10 years off (failed a fantasy football league, now have to do the combine). Those wrists were limp as fuck for the press as well
0
3
u/ThomAllcock Jun 17 '26
have done 50 reps with more weight & better form
1
u/Substanitial Jun 17 '26
We can tell you're lying because you're on Reddit.Ā
3
u/ThomAllcock Jun 17 '26
that's not the genius flex you think it is
1

Yes, the redditor that thinks we're all geniuses and hunks.Ā
Reddit is a place for depressed losers on the toilet

u/ThomAllcock Jun 17 '26

u/Flimsy_Enthusiasm_70 Jun 17 '26
Ok thatās 135lbs each plate is 45 lbs and so is the bar and he doesnāt have his hands in the right spots
1
u/SignificanceGlass632 Jun 17 '26
The right spot is a narrower grip than he has, so you are working the pectoral muscles instead of just straining the rotator cuffs. It's a lot harder, so you want to use less weight. But you get a much better workout without a high risk of shoulder injury.
-3
u/TripleRiver1863 Jun 17 '26
Dude benches like 315. He's one of the first Defense Secretaries I've ever seen actually joining with the lower enlisted. You film him while he's giving his all and he's getting tired like it's some power move on your end? It just makes you look pathetic. The last Sec Def was gone for a month without any notice and Pete trains with his men and women? Seriously you all are pathetic.
1
u/Lockean_Demon Jun 17 '26
Hahahah, thatās 135 for what 40 reps my dude? Fucking yikes if youāve been trying at anything other than maxing both the bar and the bar
2
1
u/IchBinEinSim Jun 17 '26 edited Jun 17 '26
Heās one of the first Sec to join because he got the job without gaining the proper experience, which normally takes years upon years amass.
Hey itās not like we donāt see part time lower level management get promoted directly to CEO of an organization all the time.
1
1
u/Gatorking_ Jun 17 '26
Exactly. Heās got sweat all over his shirt like he has been doing pt for an hour. Whereās the footage from where he was fresh at the beginning of the session.
1
u/GtBsyLvng Jun 17 '26
I've seen the whole set. He didn't complete a single proper rep. There was a troop right next to him doing them correctly. It shows in his other workouts too. Never does full extensions. He looks like a yoga chick doing cardio.
Now I'm a fat dude who doesn't put in much gym time, but I'm also not posting videos of myself online trying to look hard and failing to even look competent.
1
u/Gatorking_ Jun 18 '26
Have you considered its morale for the troops too see their SECDEF PT with them. Never saw Lloyd Austin PT with the people he represents. Probably because he was being a national security risk being AWOL. š¤·
1
u/GtBsyLvng Jun 18 '26
It's supposed to improve morale to watch your leadership do a workout you'd be disciplined for?
1
2
u/SignificanceGlass632 Jun 17 '26
"Dad-Bod" Pete "trains" for photo-ops. He should lay off the steak and lobster and do some cardio. He looks like a coronary just waiting to happen.

Yeah. Imagine experiencing muscle failure ON THE FOURTY FIFTH REP. š
I canāt believe so many people still donāt know this video was edited to show the muscle failure rep and not the rest of it.
2
u/Truefiction224 Jun 16 '26
This seems to start in the middle of a workout.
Whole a lot of his form sucks, youre not supposed to use weights that are easy and you work to failure.
This is one of the most pathetic attacks by what is likely an obese redditor ive ever seen.
2
u/Turs_Yotunn Jun 16 '26
Now, why donāt you sprinkle some mystery powder on the toilet rim and let the troops race to see who can snort the most, the fastest? Or, better yet, drag a child in front of him and make sure he thinks there are no witnesses. Everyone should be able to compete on their own home turf, right?
5
u/Timmyeveryday Jun 16 '26
What a pathetic poser. Take that USMC shirt off!
1
u/Total_Tart2553 Jun 19 '26
Why? Its not even an official issued shirt. Marines dont wear that shade of green on anything lol.
-2
u/QuinnRyderSmith Jun 17 '26
Siddown pog
1
u/unmelted_ice Jun 17 '26
Not trying to get into the conversation other than ask what does āpogā mean here? I have only ever heard it as an acronym for āplay of [the] gameā
1
u/DependentBite5586 Jun 17 '26
Pronounced "pogue" /poŹÉ”/, POG (or Pogue) is pejorative military slang used by combat troops (specifically infantry) to describe non-combat, non-infantry, or rear-echelon support personnel. It is a retronym widely agreed across communities on Quora to stand for "Person Other than Grunt".
Or shitbag...

Dude he did a combat tour in Iraq.
Stfu
2
u/I_Went_Full_WSB Jun 17 '26
He wasn't a marine.
0
u/Truefiction224 Jun 17 '26
Lmfao and hes doing a workout with marines who gave him a shirt
1
u/I_Went_Full_WSB Jun 17 '26
And?
1
u/Truefiction224 Jun 17 '26
And he did combat tours in iraq and fought with marines every day.
Creates a special bond.Ā
One that lots of ppl take offense to mocking.
1
u/I_Went_Full_WSB Jun 17 '26
No, he didn't liar.
0
u/Truefiction224 Jun 17 '26
He absolutely did with the 101s airborneĀ
"Hegseth's military awards include two Bronze Star Medals, the Joint Commendation Medal, two Army Commendation Medals, the Combat Infantryman Badge (CIB) and the Expert Infantryman Badge (EIB). "
He was a decorated combat squad leader in the division band of brothes was about uneducated google proof goul.
https://www.war.gov/about/biographies/biography/article/4040890/hon-pete-hegseth/
1
u/I_Went_Full_WSB Jun 17 '26
He got medals doesn't mean he fought next to marines every day. Are your parents brother and sister or something?
1
u/Truefiction224 Jun 17 '26
I have family that served you ass. Mocking those medals or service for politcs is a huge no no

u/Dizzy_Today_3523 Jun 17 '26
No he didn't š¤£
1
u/Truefiction224 Jun 17 '26
Iraq Deployment: Hegseth served as a lieutenant in the 3rd Brigade, 187th Infantry Regiment of the 101st Airborne Division, deploying to Samarra, Iraq, from 2005 to 2006. He later served in Baghdad, Iraq, in 2005. His service in Samarra focused on civil-military operations and counterinsurgency strategies
Dude he was 101st airborne. The division from band of brothers.
He didnt just serve in combat, he was in an elite unit.
Do you think lying is clever?
1
u/I_Went_Full_WSB Jun 17 '26
So not a marine.
0
u/Truefiction224 Jun 17 '26
Lmfao im not sure if youre aware of this but our armed forces work out and will sometimes give a guy a t-shirt even if hes from another branchĀ
The guys did combat tours what'd you do?
1
u/I_Went_Full_WSB Jun 17 '26
I never claimed to be in the marines when I wasn't. š¤·
1
u/Truefiction224 Jun 17 '26
Neither did I
I said he did combat tours and served in the army
Shocker that a dod employee would wear a marine shirt to a recruitment eventĀ
Do you think this is stolen valour or are you just high on your own supplyĀ
1
u/I_Went_Full_WSB Jun 17 '26
No shit, but you asked what I did so I told you. I refrained from portraying myself as a marine when I'm not a marine.
0
u/Truefiction224 Jun 17 '26
So you do think this is stolen valor. Ok so do you think everyone who wears an Yankees shirt is doing this
Stop pearl clutching and except the standaed the guys in combat set.Ā
Shirts are fine. Its the uniform that represents you as a marineĀ
Youre just hyper ignorant.

Youre 100 times crazier than Alex jonesĀ
2
u/RoguePlanetArt Jun 17 '26
What? Who said anything about a tattoo?
1
u/Truefiction224 Jun 17 '26
1
u/RoguePlanetArt Jun 17 '26
Well I sure didnāt bring it up, but thanks for posting the snopes article about it which basically says his tattoos are patriotic and Christian, not Nazi⦠I mean I already knew that was the case, because the lying has been so overboard and consistent now for ages.

Sad OP, sad person whoever titled the video.
As always, your average Redditors wanting to paint a bad narrative of something on purpose just because they don't like the person.
Let's ignore that this is his +40th rep.Ā
1
-1
u/Next-Pie5208 Jun 16 '26
He failed in trying to portray himself as a bada$$. Women enlistees who he is trying to drum out of the service could probably outlift him.
1
u/Total_Tart2553 Jun 19 '26
Hes working out with the troops, not sure where youre getting the idea that hes trying to portray himself as a badass.
0
u/Truefiction224 Jun 16 '26
Its training to failure.Ā
All you've done is out yourself as someone whos never exercised.
1
u/what_now_KY81 Jun 16 '26
Its almost like the people dogging him in the video have NEVER worked to exhaustion and kept trying to push.
-4
u/HonoredEffort Jun 16 '26
Literally look up any other video, why would the dude slander fat fucks in the military if he couldnāt hold the standard himself. Him and RFK did the presidential fitness test and it was genuinely impressive. But sure youāll get more replies of ājust keep licking his ballsā from losers.
5
u/HoldenMcNeil420 Jun 16 '26 edited Jun 16 '26
lol. Whatever helps you sleep at night.
Hardly any sweat, poor form, the air pump donāt lie. Heās not on no 40 reps. Howās his balls taste?
His feet off the ground not planted. He has no idea what heās doing. Just like you donāt have a fucking clue what youāre looking at either.
0
u/Truefiction224 Jun 16 '26
Air pump?
Thx for outing yourself as someone whos never had a pump in their life.
Thats not how the works.
1
u/HoldenMcNeil420 Jun 17 '26
the pump refers to the temporary swelling and hardening of muscles during an intense workout. It is caused by blood and fluid rushing to the worked area, making muscles look visibly larger, tighter, and more vascular for a short time.
1
u/Truefiction224 Jun 17 '26
Ahahahahahabababaab
You googled it.
How do gym rats explain it and how does it feel.
Keep proving who you areĀ
1
u/HoldenMcNeil420 Jun 17 '26
Well my muscles get hot, and they sure feel like an air pumps been there. Twitching, tightness, I honestly donāt think you know shit.

1
u/LaserGadgets Jun 16 '26
His arms don't really look weak tbh.
