Hi all.

I am new to the Jungle genre of music, and I am totally blown away by it. The more I listen, the more I want to listen, and so much so I want to make my own Jungle and begin the process of learning.

I am currently using FL Studio Producer, and I have just purchased the rather awesome Amigo sampler and downloaded Jungle Warfare Packs, and working through the many YouTube tutorials and try to slice my own breaks on to my midi tracks.

Would I be rather cheeky to ask for some advice. It's not a direct question about anything in particular. I would love to hear replies from those that started from scratch, learn the art and made records/tracks of your own.

Are there any top tips that you could offer to someone new starting in this genre, like something you wished you knew alot earlier, things that you took too much time on but shouldn't have.

I'm really inspired by the atmospheric styles of jungle, which is making me think about how I would make these textures and pads my self at a later stage once I have learnt the art of slicing and pitching etc.

So is there any tips that you could offer me that will make better progress, anything I should be focussing on more rather than less? Or anything helpful to a newbie that genuinely would help progress and inspire me to finish tracks?

My setup is small, but it's a start.

(FL studio producer, 2 x RCF Pro Ayra 6 Monitors, FL Keys 49, Focusrite 2i2, Plugins: Amigo VST, GeForce Bass Station, JUP-8000v.

Been looking for break packs online but they all have one of the following problems

- either a needlessly massive pack of 1000+ samples
- pre chopped one shots (I want to chop myself)
- paid ones I’ve tried are modern studio recreations (don’t like how they sound vs stretched samples)
- not labelled/sorted and so difficult to use with the primitive screen on the m:s

And finally
- Gdrive/dropbox links are broken (many cases!). Annoyingly, the links are broken for all the seemingly perfect packs.

Did anyone cop these packs of just pre stretched breaks before the links died? Anyone help a brother out?

Am I being too lazy? Lol.

For example track 1 for drums. Track 2 for bass etc

Hey! I have been playing (a lot!) with amen breaks on the PO-33 and ended up dropping this vid. I have to say that the PO-33 and amen breaks are a match made in heaven imo.

Yo I know this might be a dumb question, but when you guys spin jungle records do you always pitch them up? I have a Sully 12" flock EP that sounds good at 33rpm. But I have a 12" Tommy The Cat double LP which sounds great at both 33rpm and 45rpm. Better at 45rpm but I've been into breakcore lately so I can't tell if it's supposed to play that fast originally. I read somewhere that djs used to always pitch their records up all the time, so I'm wondering if it's the artists intention to mess with the pitch, or if this LP is just packed with more tunes so you need to speed it up to 45rpm. And how do djs know when a record needs to be sped up in advance if so? I don't see anything saying rpm on the record atm. Just curious, thanks! :)

While jungle - and heaviIy broken beats in general - have always been part of the Blasted sound, they never really had a dedicated space. That changed in May 2026, when Blasted finally expanded to two floors after more than 10 years. A dedicated jungle room on the second floor felt like the obvious choice - and the perfect opportunity to give that side of our identity a home of its own.

At first I thought it's from think or hot pants and I tried to manipulate them to get something similar. Unfortunately I couldn't, so now I'm wondering if it's from another known sample or maybe there is some other way to recreate this sound.
