"Summer Frisson" played live on the drums with an original tune on the old XP-30 against a classic pad. The "2 stick hi-hat" is something I began doing in the early 2000s. Usually known for the MPC, but been a drummer since age of 4. Aways enjoy the kit! πŸ”₯

Hey! I have been playing (a lot!) with amen breaks on the PO-33 and ended up dropping this vid. I have to say that the PO-33 and amen breaks are a match made in heaven imo.

Discussion Jungle vinyl pitch

Yo I know this might be a dumb question, but when you guys spin jungle records do you always pitch them up? I have a Sully 12" flock EP that sounds good at 33rpm. But I have a 12" Tommy The Cat double LP which sounds great at both 33rpm and 45rpm. Better at 45rpm but I've been into breakcore lately so I can't tell if it's supposed to play that fast originally. I read somewhere that djs used to always pitch their records up all the time, so I'm wondering if it's the artists intention to mess with the pitch, or if this LP is just packed with more tunes so you need to speed it up to 45rpm. And how do djs know when a record needs to be sped up in advance if so? I don't see anything saying rpm on the record atm. Just curious, thanks! :)

Production Question Anyone got a decent pack of pre stretched breaks bpm sorted?

Off on holiday soon gonna take my elektron ms for the plane…

Been looking for break packs online but they all have one of the following problems

- either a needlessly massive pack of 1000+ samples
- pre chopped one shots (I want to chop myself)
- paid ones I’ve tried are modern studio recreations (don’t like how they sound vs stretched samples)
- not labelled/sorted and so difficult to use with the primitive screen on the m:s

And finally
- Gdrive/dropbox links are broken (many cases!). Annoyingly, the links are broken for all the seemingly perfect packs.

Did anyone cop these packs of just pre stretched breaks before the links died? Anyone help a brother out?

Am I being too lazy? Lol.

BrokenGear live at Blasted, Jungle Floor 2026-05-15

https://soundcloud.com/blastednb/brokengear-blasted_2026-05-15

While jungle - and heaviIy broken beats in general - have always been part of the Blasted sound, they never really had a dedicated space. That changed in May 2026, when Blasted finally expanded to two floors after more than 10 years. A dedicated jungle room on the second floor felt like the obvious choice - and the perfect opportunity to give that side of our identity a home of its own.

For the occasion, we invited BrokenGear (@aboutbrokengear), a true hard worker of the underground bass music scene of Berlin and one of the masterminds behind the "The Cave" and "Friday Sessions" events at Der Kegel.

Enjoy the ride, and get in the mood for the next "Blasted – Drum & Bass & Jungle on Two Floors" on 25 September at the same venue.Β ra.co/events/2493590

Re-recorded afterwards in BrokenGear's studio.

Production Question Advice on processing breaks to make them sound less aggressive?

I'm looking for some advice on how to process breaks, specifically the amen, to make it less aggressive sounding? I was listening to a bunch of atmospheric dnb and jungle tracks like Pulse by DJ Fokus, Aurora by Voyager, Gulfstream by Greenfly etc.

I'm pretty sure these all use amens but they don't sound like super hard and banging, they're kinda low key and tight and skippy and light sounding. How do you process an amen, or other breakbeat to get that sound?
