Hi everyone!
A few months ago, I posted in a few subreddits asking whether people would be interested in an app that creates smarter playlists from their listening history. Since then, I've kept working on it, and today I'm finally opening the beta 🎉
The app is called Juke, and it's completely free to use. You can try it here:
https://juke.levada.app
Instead of only showing your most-played songs, it analyzes your listening history and generates playlists based on how you actually listen to music.
Some examples:
🔥 Can't Stop Playing – songs you couldn't stop listening to during a specific time of your life
🔄 Always Coming Back – songs you've returned to consistently over months or years
⭐ Greatest Hits – your true all-time favorites
📼 Buried Treasures – songs you used to love but haven't played in a long time
🌅 Time of day playlists – your morning, afternoon, evening and late-night music
📅 Weekday / Weekend playlists
🌸 Seasonal playlists – what you listen mostly in a specific season
🌍 Travel playlists – music you listened to while staying in different cities
...and more.
The goal is to help you rediscover your own music library and tell the story of your listening habits.
Current limitations
Because Apple doesn't provide access to your complete listening history through its API, the setup is unfortunately a little manual for now.
You'll need to:
request your Apple Music listening history from Apple (privacy.apple.com)
upload it to Juke
import the generated playlists into Apple Music using an Apple Shortcut
It isn't one-click yet, but once your history is imported you can generate as many playlists as you want.
I'd really love your feedback
I've only tested it extensively on my own library so far, so I'm sure there are bugs, edge cases and ideas I haven't thought of.
If you'd like to help, I'd love to hear:
What playlists did you enjoy the most? Which ones felt useless?
What playlists would you like to see added?
What additional features would you want included?
Did you encounter any bugs or confusing parts of the UI?
You can try it here:

Thanks! I really hope some of you enjoy rediscovering your music as much as I enjoyed building this.
