I’m going to be completely honest here. I thought they would have all died by now. If you don’t know the backstory. Here it is: my brother decided to buy my son (his nephew) isopods 🤦🏻‍♀️ my son is 2. So whose job is it? Mine! 😭 they grew on me. They are actually pretty cute! Not thinking this far ahead. I only had them since may and I need to clean the tank. Most definitely and control the gnat problem 😩 I already have a solution for that. My problem is cleaning the tank now. How TF am I suppose to clean it with all these little ISO-Babies running around?? In June I cleaned it out and was actually able to pluck out all the babies. Only 1 adult died 😞 but I think it was on its way out anyways. So point of all this is. How TF am I suppose to manage so many of these? And how TF and I suppose to clean!? I have springtails doing their work in there of course so how am I suppose to keep those alive while cleaning too? They must be pretty happy if they are reproducing 🤷🏻‍♀️

I have a mix of powder oranges and blues in my snake's bioactive terrarium but I spotted this pretty pal today! A pleasant surprise for sure :) I hope I see them again.

Not sure if their behavior is different in light or darkness, they have always been in living terrariums under my care.

When I got my duckies people said I would never see them, but under the cover of jungle they are visible.

Am I accidentally keeping 2 species together? I’m not confident in telling the difference, but am I right that picture 1 is vulgare and 2 is granulatum?

Found a spotted guy in my White Pearls. Who is he? Shape-wise he looks like Armadillidium, but I'm not sure.

I fed my isopods a few tiny dried fish a few days ago and they only left the tiniest fishbone 😍 they seem to love dried fish

Hi friends! Question, where do y'all source your isopods? The ones I have now I got from a pet fair, but I want more and don't know where to get them. I was already looking at some places, but I was wondering where y'all like to go! Thank ya ahead of time :)

Totally forgot to buy fishing line to secure the moss to the driftwood so ignore how loose it is at the moment.

Plenty of hidey holes for the snails and the pods, and the driftwood (from a local lake and thoroughly sanitized ) has a large hollow interior for the pods to chill in. Added my springtails earlier and they're having a field day. Waiting for the plants to root down for a few more days while I recover from eye surgery then I'll add the critters.

Over two days, it's stayed at 72% humidity and 73F so it should do just fine I think. The moisture zones go left to right with the right side being driest and the left side with plants staying wettest.

If anyone sees any glaring issues let me know! (please)

I just saw this fun game from creator Nomnom for the Very Serious Juniper Dev Game Jam.
Its similar to a Mario 64. Its probably not something you're going to spend multiple hours on, the whole game was made in less than a week, but its fun bouncing around, squashing ladybugs and doing rolypoly parkour while collecting crystals.
