Just moved to Turtle Ridge. Began enrollment for Vista verde end of May. Everything was fine, ended up moving end of June to turtle ridge. Enrollment seemed fine, no surprises until yesterday I was speaking with the enrollment department and they said we are denied. Emailed principal and he confirmed the news. We are not allowed to attend.
Anyone else dealt with this? Any resources I can reach it to? We moved right across the street from the school and are paying insane amounts of rent to live in this area and attend Vista Verde.
I appreciate any advice. Thank you in advance.
Edit: the grounds for denial is over crowding.
It’s not just the rejection that has me miffed it’s that they didn’t tell me that would be a possibility until 2 days ago, (Monday) AFTER we moved here so my daughter could attend this school.

Anybody have any idea why this never got off the ground? It was supposed to be a small hipster snack shack type of spot near the soccer stadium in the great park, but I don’t think it ever officially opened?
Are there still plans to make something of it?

Just a heads up - they're at Blue Lake North and Yale Loop. Three of them. IPD knows and can't do much, as usual.

Hello. I live in Irvine company housing near Spectrum and had reported make-shift smoking areas I had found on the property. It has now been one full week with no response from Irvine Company other than the “we will look into it” response.
In the meantime, the smoking areas are still being used and cigarette butts and trash are littered all around
Given how clear the city laws are pertaining to smoking cigarettes in public areas, can I just report them to the city? What is the process here?

Hello all
I am thinking of self installation of Google Fiber because I was told that the new Avella II comes with Google Fiber infrastructure by default. I thought I can do self install of GFiber, but I was told that I should have a professional come over my place. Does anybody know the reason?

Probably hard to tell on dashcam. But the white cybertruck signals that it’s turning right. Then proceeds to u-turn (left) blocks the road and almost backs into another driver.

UPDATE! Indian Vegan Cafe is gone. Confirmed on phone with Southern Spice yesterday. 😭
Does anyone know if Indian vegan Cafe still exists? It was a ghost kitchen running out of Southern spice on Barranca but it can't seem to find any information on it..

For a little over a week, I’ve seen so many photographers parked along Campus Drive with their huge cameras pointed in the same direction at the marsh. It’s always around 8am on my way to work, so I unfortunately haven’t had time to stop and ask what they’re looking at.
Does anyone know what’s going on?

Are we looking for a unicorn or something??
• Well credentialed Educators (No day care set ups)
• Real grass + dirt + more nature based large outdoor play space (No artificial turf - big on this - no institutional type play spaces of soley asphalt & crumb rubber)
• Non-denominational (promotes diversity & inclusion with no religious affiliation)
• Curriculum: STEAM type - Not strictly Montessori but not just all play - our child most likely would not thrive with the rigidity of mont but does need structure & autonomy promoting lessons.
• Offers part time + drop off/pick up situation without a requirement to volunteer.
• In the Irvine area I work in cdm so potentially on the way. We are in east Irvine.
Open to suggestions. Please mind the aforementioned. We are going crazy trying to find an appropriate program that tiks our boxes. We don’t think it’s asking too much… why does Irvine seem to be lacking so badly??? Hopefully there are some great ones out there we just haven’t heard of.
Here are the ones we have looked into & liked with the reasons we did not choose them:
• Annelisse- loved but right up against canyon traffic was a hard no for us & our slippery adventurer who would/could easily make it out. Especially with the gate opening/closing so often.
• Turtle Rock- Accepted but waitlisted
• Childsworld- Soo fun but play yard vomit. We did not get a good grasp on any structure or curriculum. A little too loose/kid led. Glorified outdoor daycare.
• ECEC: too many observers in & out constantly.
• Woodbridge children’s school/IUCC- We felt personally discriminated against by the directors. Then neighbors warned us after they pulled their child as they witnessed the new director yelling at kids.
• De Colores- Artificial Turf
• SCC: Too far

Hello friends, when I lived in Irvine about 15 years ago, my (then) newborn daughter really enjoyed the IVC Public Access Channel - I think it was Channel 31 on Cox.
My wife and I called it the "Circles and Music channel" because it seemed like pretty non-stop that channel would play soothing music with colorful circles on the screen.
Fast forward 15 years later and I'm trying to find that image to use in a slideshow celebrating my daughter's birthday. If anyone happening to read this knows what I'm talking about and happens to have a link/video still from that ancient public access channel, I'd be extremely grateful!

Hey guys, my sibling found a stray with kittens and has been taking care of them, and we are trying to find them good homes now that they are old enough! They are ready to come inside and get off the mean streets and be loved! Very friendly. Rehoming is the cost of spay/neuter and vaccinations to keep them safe. We just want the best for them. If you or anyone you know might be interested, please reach out and I will give you the contact number!

Are the shelter rentals/reservations at the public parks free? I am looking for somewhere to have my daughters 3rd bday party and was working on the application, but couldn’t figure out if it costs anything to rent the shelter

I know there's a fire NEAR Corona, but anywhere else close by that is generating all the smoke this morning? Checked Watch Duty, nothing I can directly attribute it to, other than the Little Pine Fire near the Prado Basin.
edited to indicate near Corona, a 22 minute drive from Chino Hills, and a GASP 7 minute drive from Prado Basin

Hi all, I have a specialty camera I need repaired and haven't had any luck at the local camera shops. Its a camera attached to a microscope used for research at UCI that is made by a tiny European company that cannot service the camera themselves. The issue is a broken seal that let condensation form inside the camera. If you have any leads on a repair service or person, please share, and thank you in advance.

As the post says, does anyone have HVAC recommendations with a financing option?
We may need the whole thing replaced.
