Hii probably an unconventional post but basically my job just rescinded their return offer. I went to college in Dublin and did an internship at a big company, got a return offer, never looked back. i always dreamed of moving abroad but with the promise of stability here never thought much about it. i constantly, constantly look at what my salary would be in other countries and day dream about a life in other countries too. I've lived abroad before and adored it. I think I might be happier abroad but again the promise of stability outweighed everything.

Now my job has rescinded the offer, and I have so much work experience abroad that I think it only makes sense for me to try to go abroad. I have work experience in NYC, I'm a dual citizen, American family in colorado etc. I guess I'm just scared of making the jump? Any irish in america with good stories?

They rescinded the offer based on "business needs adjustments" so basically probably offloaded my job to AI. I've been grinding in dublin trying to make rent and I'm just exhausted. I know I need to go abroad but I'm so scared to actually do it?

I will be studying abroad Spring 2027 (mid January-early May), and am having a really hard time picking between my top two programs. I am between IFSA University College Dublin and IES Berlin. For context, I am a Social Studies education major and only speak English, but I have been abroad a lot! I have family from both Berlin and Ireland, and my sister lives in England. I love nature, hiking, history, architecture, meeting new people, and want to be able to easily explore other countries during my time there. I do enjoy going out, but I’m not one to get drunk. Below I’m including some details about my programs, and I would love to hear about experiences or recommendations based on what I’ve provided!!
Dublin:
-housing included in cost
-classes directly through the university
-12.5 to 15 credit hours
-lots more class availability
-excursions available at no extra cost
Berlin:
-housing included in cost
-classes through abroad center
-15 to 19 credit hours
-excursions available at an additional cost
-still good class flexibility

My boyfriend and I are in our mid 20s and would like to try living abroad for a couple of years. We are both in office based jobs on 48k gross a year (3k net a month) and have 4 years experience each since leaving college. My boyfriend really wants to go to barcelona or madrid for the lifestyle, weather etc whereas I would like that but its also important to me that I'm able to save money each month. At the moment I'm able to save 700 quid a month as I am lucky to live at home and hand up 360 a month and pay 300 for groceries. My boyfriend also lives at his parents' home. We have both agreed to research different cities to live in, in europe or uk and that we would want a job sorted before moving. I'm also very aware that neither of us speak spanish so I don't think we'll even get hired over a native speaker. I'm more inclined to move to london although I know its very expensive. My boyfriend wants somewhere with good weather. Where would you reccomend to move to where we could both manage to save a bit but we could get similar job opportunities? I don't mind being on a lower wage if cost of living is lower than Dublin.

Currently, it only works for the digital nomad visa from Ireland to Italy, but I enjoyed building it so much that I might create it for other Visa applications if people like it.

I’ve worked in a bar before and I do enjoy this type of work whilst I land on my feet. I’m sociable and outgoing … my French isn’t great but I mean surely I can sweep up the 6 years of French I studied in school….lol

I'm a PhD student writing about how the use of myth, folklore and stereotype in Eurovision impacts ideas of national identity - looking specifically at Ireland and Portugal from 1969 - 1996.

In order to do this, I'm looking to complete interviews with Irish Eurovision fans about their recollections of Ireland’s cultural, social and economic transformation in the 1990s, particularly in relation to Ireland’s successes at the Eurovision Song Contest and Riverdance. These personal testimonies will offer a unique insight into this period of history and I'd love for Redditors to participate in an oral history interview with me.

Looking for Irish participants with a living memory the 1990s (or earlier) who have something to say about Eurovision. Of course, looking for as diverse a range of participants as possible. Extra douze points for you if you lived in or around Millstreet in 1993.

My research project has been subject to my university's Research Ethics Committee and has been approved. All participants will be given participation sheets, consent forms and recording agreements before any interviews go ahead. The University will be processing the personal data within your interview and transcripts/summaries thereof as part of the performance of a task carried out in the public interest in accordance with the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR May 2018).

Myself and my partner was in Australia 10 years ago. We were 19 years old. My partner worked there about 6 months. We were very young and decided to come home. My partner didn’t lodge his tax return before he left.he was working self employed for a place. Now older we love to give it another shot and have the opportunity to give it another go on the 482 visa with the previous employer who is willing to sponsor him and myself and our baby will go on that visa also ☺️ My question will he get a new TFN number or will he need get a new one or how does it work? we have new passports also because the other ones expired. So new passport numbers linked to a new visa. We are afraid that maybe interest has built up on it and will owe a lot of money? Please help we would really love to give our family this opportunity to get going there again ☺️thanks a million
